Chapter 363: Chapter 356: The Taoist Canon 5

Chapter Three Hundred Fifty-six: Dao Canon Five

Behind a cedar tree, Lin Xin slowly stepped out.

"On Dao Canon Snow Mountain, to be sneaking around like this, it seems I have stumbled upon something disgraceful."

His gaze fell on the thing in the lady’s hand that resembled prey.

"What is that?"

"I would advise you to mind your own business," she coldly advised.

The lady coldly smiled as she moved the object in her hand to hide it behind her back.

"Otherwise, you might face lethal danger."

"Lethal danger?" Lin Xin’s face showed a trace of mockery. "With just you?"

"What can you do about it with just me?" The object in the lady’s hand flashed slightly, then she quickly stored it in a storage vessel.

Her figure suddenly shifted and dove into the ground.

In the blink of an eye, she emerged from the ground behind Lin Xin, her hand wielding a dagger slashing fiercely at his legs.

Shi!

The dagger missed.

The lady looked stunned, watching as the figure in front of her slowly blurred and disappeared, instantly her pupils contracting.

Bang!!

Her entire body was yanked out of the ground and suspended in midair.

Lin Xin stood in front of her, his hand outstretched and gripping her neck from afar.

"Speak, what is your purpose here?" His expression was calm, as if the brief scuffle a moment ago was child’s play, easily avoiding the attack.

What seemed like swift movements to an ordinary person were sluggish as a snail’s pace in his eyes.

He simply stepped forward, turned around, and reached out his hand—just these three actions, as easy and simple as drinking tea, determined the outcome of the fight.

"I..." the lady still wore a trace of mockery, "will not speak."

Crack.

Lin Xin crushed her windpipe with one squeeze.

He casually tossed the lady’s body aside and reached out for the storage ring on her hand.

"Return the spirit!!"

From the distant snowy forest, two men dressed as hunters rushed over, their eyes red as they stared at the lady’s body thrown aside.

Looking up, they glared at Lin Xin as if looking at their father’s murderer.

"He killed Gui Ling!"

"Kill him!!"

The two hunters roared almost simultaneously.

One of them splashed some blood from his hand, which disappeared mid-air, seemingly devoured by something.

Chichi chichi!!

Suddenly, black shadows appeared in the surrounding air, rushing towards Lin Xin from all directions.

Each shadow resembled the form of a cheetah but lacked any visible fur or facial features; they were merely large clusters of pitch-black, like shadows of black mist.

"Contracted summoning creatures?" A look of interest appeared on Lin Xin’s face. Yet his hands did not stop moving, capturing the storage ring from the lady’s finger and clutching it in his palm.

Then with a wave of his hand, his right arm disappeared in an instant, seemingly splitting into countless hands, which suddenly appeared in front of all the surrounding shadows simultaneously.

Bang!

All noises merged into one.

The large group of shadows exploded mid-air, turning into black sparks that vanished.

There were continuously more shadows condensing out of the air, all rushing towards Lin Xin.

"Ohgulorum!" One of the hunters shouted in an unintelligible language, in a tone resembling a chant or a prayer.

Soon enough, the ground behind Lin Xin swiftly bulged. Large amounts of soil and rocks, mixed with the accumulated snow, coalesced into a colossal mud-rock giant standing over four meters tall.

The giant spread its limbs, rising from the ground with a face that had only a large mouth and no other features. It lowered its head and opened its mouth wide, letting out a silent roar at Lin Xin.

Then it smashed its fist towards Lin Xin.

Pa!

Fist against fist, Lin Xin countered with a gentle punch on the giant’s fist.

Like glass, the giant’s entire body stiffened, large cracks rapidly appearing throughout its body, from which copious amounts of black gas steamed out.

Boom!

The entire giant shattered explosively, falling apart into many chunks of rock. The black gas inside it trailed back to Lin Xin in thin strands.

"This!! How is this possible!!?" Both hunters were frightened; it was the first time their summoned contract stone giant had been shattered by a single punch from someone.

The two continually backed away, turning to run.

But as they turned, they saw Lin Xin suddenly appear in front of them.

The two were so frightened they turned again, only to see Lin Xin appear behind them.

"Run! Let’s tell the overseer!!"

The one on the left fiercely pulled the other, while he himself drew a green dagger and charged straight at Lin Xin.

"Jade Ring!"

He roared.

His body suddenly revealed layers of green rune-like belts, and as the runes appeared, his entire body burst forth with a powerful trembling force.

The force spread in waves, turning into pale yellow ripples rushing towards Lin Xin.

Clang!

Lin Xin raised one hand and all the ripples were blocked right before his palm, unable to advance further, and just slowly dissipated.

"Great Bursting Jade Ring!"

The hunter roared furiously, his jade knife exploding in his hand. This magic treasure, which had followed him for decades, was now ruthlessly activated by him and shattered, releasing all its power.

The fragments of the jade knife instantly turned into a cloud of green mist, from which a fierce green hand emerged and viciously reached for Lin Xin’s face.

"Can a summoning contract be used this way? Only summoning a part?"

Lin Xin was slightly surprised. He had thought about such a technique before but had only envisioned it without bringing it to reality. Now seeing someone actually implement it, he found it rather peculiar.

He shifted his palm to the left, perfectly blocking the green hand in front of it.

The moment the two hands were about to touch, a violent air burst exploded between them, greatly slowing down the green hand, which grew slower and slower, and closer and closer, until it almost touched the center of Lin Xin’s palm and then completely halted, unable to advance further.

Bang!

A surge of Demonic Qi rushed up from below, forcefully knocking the green hand away, which then fell onto the grass.

The hunter screamed in agony, standing in place with blood streaming from all his orifices as the summoning contract backfired, causing him severe injuries from the rebound.

"What was the item you were exchanging here?" Lin Xin did not immediately finish him off but instead looked at the man writhing on the ground.

However, the man just continued to scream in agony, showing no intent to answer.

Lin Xin snorted coldly, too lazy to ask further, and turned to walk back the way he came.

Behind him, the man exploded with a bang, turning into a mist of blood, with a wisp of Demonic Qi shooting out and merging into his back.

Soon, in the distant snow-covered forest, another hunter also let out a scream, and then a strand of black Demonic Qi also flew rapidly back, merging into his back as well.

A cluster of black clouds quickly formed under his feet, and Lin Xin lightly leaped up, ready to depart.

Boom!

Suddenly, his ears muffled as if an extremely heavy pressure had instantly fallen upon him.

The legs that had just leaped up felt as if they had been filled with lead, smashing hard onto the ground. With a bang, they plunged into the earth, creating two deep pits.

Lin Xin’s face drastically changed as a silver-white spike suddenly appeared in his hand, embedded with a black and white Taiji Yin Yang sphere that kept rotating.

"Rise!"

He shouted lowly.

Whoosh!

His whole body suddenly shrank into a black dot and burst out, flying toward the distant sky.

Right where he had just left, a force many times heavier than before abruptly descended, smashing directly into the ground.

Boom!

Amid the terrifying noise of collapse, the ground visibly cracked, forming a perfect square of fractures.

It was a full ten meters lower than the surrounding snowfield, forming a complete deep pit.

Snow dust splashed, and in the center of the pit, a figure clothed in black was kneeling on one knee, standing right at the central spot.

He slowly stood up, tilting his head to look in the direction of the black dot that Lin Xin had transformed into.

"Trying to escape?"

The man in black snorted coldly, startlingly the same one who had been talking face-to-face with old man Hong Gui earlier.

He violently stretched out his hand towards the sky and made a grabbing motion.

A massive, invisible pressure in the sky suddenly contracted, enveloping the high-flying black dot that Lin Xin had become, forming an invisible giant hand and viciously gripping it.

Boom!

The black dot trembled slightly, struggling to break free. However, it was to no avail, and its surface luster noticeably dimmed.

Lin Xin, hidden within, trembled all over, as his body’s surface continuously showed blood fissures, much like the green hand he had just crushed.

It was clear that the enemy intended to give him a taste of his own medicine.

"Yuan Jing rules!?"

A thought flashed through his mind as he recognized the true nature of this force field and immediately began to frantically stimulate the Demonic Qi and power in his body.

But there was clearly an irresistible force firmly gripping him, preventing him from moving, neither the Demonic Qi nor anything else could be mobilized.

As if completely frozen, he could only rely on his own Defense to withstand it.

This all-freezing power enveloped him, completely beyond resistance.

This was his first time directly facing a Yuan Jing expert with murderous intent using his full strength.

The attributes he had just added felt as flimsy as paper, utterly useless.

The Demonic Qi of the Yuan Dou Demonic Technique Fourth Layer also couldn’t struggle, all of it locked by the freezing force.

"Demon Body!"

Suddenly, a large amount of black Qi burst out from his body, enveloping it before dissipating, and he instantly transformed from a human form into a Demon Body state.

The Demon Body state seemed to have a trace of ability to move, from being completely immobile to now being able to slowly shift a little bit.

He strained to lift his right arm, and three right arms opened their palms at the same time. It was as if a film reel was being played at a speed ten times slower, making the motion excruciatingly slow.

"Explode!!!"

He roared in his mind.

Lin Xin’s right arm and all three hands exploded, turning into the purest Demonic Qi and flesh, radiating outwards like a bomb.

The moment the Demon Body exploded, a tremendous unimaginable force burst forth, causing the freezing rules to tremble slightly and loosen momentarily.

Lin Xin seized the opportunity to dash forward, using the power of the black dot to break free from the restraint.

Whoosh!!

The black dot suddenly vanished into the sky, flying swiftly toward the mountain peak and disappearing from sight.

The man in black, reaching upwards from below, had an extremely ugly expression beneath his mask.

"To think he broke free from my Yuan Jing control by self-mutilation... I want to see where you can run to!"

He too stamped his legs, rocketing into the air and vanishing in an instant.
