Chapter 332: Chapter 325: Clash Part 1
Boom!!
A cluster of flame erupted mid-air, sending Wusheng crashing down to the ground behind him like a meteor.
Hissing as he slid a great distance across the ground, his complexion turned iron blue. Erecting his blade, a dark aura began to condense.
"Dao Seeking’s third strike, Yin Yang Extreme!!"
A large mass of dark energy gathered in front of him, taking the shape of an eye and then suddenly opening wide to reveal a myriad of dense, tiny white eyes blinking continuously within. All of them fixated on Lin Xin.
Sst!!
All the white eyes shot out transparent, twisting beams of light at the same time, aiming instantly at Lin Xin, who was not far away.
Swish, swish, swish, Lin Xin managed to evade three twisting beams in rapid succession, closing in on Wusheng’s knife like lightning, and thrusting his sword forward!
Clang!!
The tip of his sword collided with the eye made of dark energy, emitting a metallic clashing sound.
"Don’t think you’re the only one hiding your true strength!!" Wusheng, his body rippling with exposed veins, appeared ferocious.
He quickly took out a magic artifact that looked like an inkstone from inside his robe and threw it forward.
That inkstone swelled in the wind, rapidly expanding from the size of a palm to that of a small hill and bore down heavily towards Lin Xin up ahead.
Blocked by the eye of dark energy, Lin Xin flew backward and landed on the ground. Once he steadied himself and looked up, he saw the inkstone flying towards him.
He swung his sword forward.
A hemispherical red protective shield suddenly appeared, guarding in front of him.
Bang!!!
The inkstone crashed fiercely onto the red protective shield. The eye of dark energy behind it suddenly gathered a massive force and rammed hard into the back of the inkstone.
A huge amount of airflow squeezed between the two, blowing wildly in all directions.
"Silent Foundation, Heaven’s Intent Hong Ling! Fourth Question, Flower Path Wheel!!"
Wusheng threw his Black Blade hard, letting it rapidly spin in front of him, turning into a pitch-black wheel of blades.
Hiss, hiss, hiss!
One after another, the same blade wheels madly differentiated and flew out from in front of him, cutting towards Lin Xin from all sides.
Lin Xin narrowed his eyes, realizing that even after elevating his attributes, he still couldn’t swiftly defeat his opponent.
As expected of a Golden Core Stage Dao Seeking expert at the peak, still concealing his power.
Although his attributes had increased his strength and speed, it wasn’t enough to achieve an absolute advantage over Wusheng. In other words, it still wasn’t enough to create an overwhelming superiority.
Thinking this, he also wanted to test how far he could go now, relying solely on his body.
He condensed all his spiritual power.
Lin Xin merely relied on his body, forcefully stomping forward. The ground exploded beneath him, scattering countless fragments of rocks and earth.
He instantly used the rebounding force to charge forward.
In a split second, the acceleration allowed him to narrowly avoid three black blade wheels shooting at him from the side. He collided head-on with another wheel.
As soon as the blade wheel touched the red silhouette, an intense explosion erupted violently.
A blazing red ring of light spread out directly, engulfing Wusheng not far away into it. The remaining blade wheels also rushed in and exploded in turn.
Boom! Boom, boom, boom!!!
A series of explosions continued to spread. Red flames mingled with the dark energy.
The following inkstone, which had been flying in to continue its suppression, was also sent flying by the huge explosion, crashing into the ground and leaving only half protruding from the surface.
After a continuous series of explosions mixed with flame and dark energy, the terrain surrounding the area where they had clashed, originally a hill, was now left only half-standing with a large black crater over twenty meters in diameter in its place.
Curling blue smoke hung in the air, and the ground seemed scorched by a massive fire, pitch-black everywhere.
Lin Xin stood in the middle with his sword, surveying his surroundings.
Wusheng was lying on the edge of the crater in front. Both of his temples and eyes bore deeply cut crimson sword wounds, blinding not just his eyes but nearly cleaving his entire head in two.
"Cough cough..." A large mouthful of blood sprayed from Wusheng’s mouth. He wore an ugly smile on his face.
"I didn’t expect... I never expected that I would be defeated here..."
Lin Xin stood in place, also unable to hold back. A mouthful of blood rushed to his throat, almost spraying out, but he forcefully suppressed it back down.
At this moment, he had broken through the limits of the Return to Origin formula, which he had only reached at the Foundation Establishment Stage. The moment he formed the Primitive Demon body, he truly became a Demon Path Cultivator.
Creating the First Layer of the Primitive Demon Body effectively meant reaching the Foundation Establishment Stage among the Demonic Cultivators, and his own self-realized Sword Intent coupled with the Formation Talisman Path, plus his incredibly strong attributes. Layered together, they ultimately resulted in the combat power he exercised up to now.
Now it seemed, even though Wusheng had been clearly engaged in a fight with Toaist Venerable Hong Ling earlier, appearing to have been injured. When he later fought with him, he was still at a disadvantage.
Although he appeared unscathed on the surface, during the conflict with those blade wheels, his internal organs suffered tremendous vibrational damage. Those blade wheels, with no significant explosive aftermath, concentrated all their power in a minimal area, far more dangerous than those attacks with large areas of effect.
"What a pity... I really didn’t want to use this." Wusheng suddenly let out a cold laugh. A complex purple-black rune slowly lit up on his forehead, and as the rune shone, the wounds on his face visibly began to heal at an astonishing rate.
Lin Xin’s heart chilled.
"So he’s finally resorting to his Demon Body?"
Almost in resonance, a blood-red rune also slowly appeared on his own forehead.
As the rune activated, all the injuries within his body began to heal swiftly, and he estimated that in less than a few dozen breaths, he would fully recover as if he had never lifted a finger in battle, returning to his peak condition.
The invisible pressure between the two surged once again, causing the ground around them to crack even more.
The pit walls, already dense from the explosion, suddenly cracked like glass with a snap, splitting into numerous lines.
"If possible, I truly didn’t want to activate my Demon Body, because it’s just too ugly," Lin Xin said as he slowly walked forward, taking steps towards Wusheng.
Wusheng tore himself free from the pit wall and floated up slowly, his eyes gradually turning pitch black, a complete and utter darkness that left no whites.
"If possible, I wouldn’t want to use this move either. What a pity, there are not so many ’ifs’ in this world. For ordinary people, just to survive is a luxury, let alone for us children of the secluded mansions."
His body began to show a series of black lines, and his arms started to bulge with growths like tumors, densely packed as if covered with countless blisters.
Lin Xin was undergoing a similar transformation.
His body gradually became taller, his muscles twisting and churning violently, and pieces of black-red scales, resembling those of a fish, sprouted on the surface of his skin.
Hiss!
A sharp white bone spur suddenly pierced through Lin Xin’s back.
Then came a second, a third, a fourth...
More and more bone spurs erupted from his back, quickly forming a long row of spines that extended along his spine from top to bottom.
His back arched slightly, and the outer sides of his thighs swelled and split open, revealing complexly structured short sword-like bone spurs from the slits.
Most exaggerated were his arms; Lin Xin’s forearms swelled with numerous tube-like structures, attaching themselves to the outsides of his lower arms.
Each arm seemed to be bound with dozens of miniature cannons, but the dark blue passageways connecting to the cannons actually burrowed directly into his flesh.
Hiss!
Without warning, his ears assumed the form of bat wings and suddenly flared open with a crisp sound.
In less than a few dozen breaths, Lin Xin transformed from a normally handsome human to a humanoid monster covered in black-red scales, retaining only a slight semblance of his human facial features, with nothing else bearing any normalcy.
"Is this the terrifying Primitive Demon Body of the Yuan Dou Demon Sect?"
Across from him, Wusheng had also nearly completed his transformation into a Demon Body.
He floated in mid-air, his skin marked with a dense pattern of blood-red lines, while his limbs, bloated and deformed, were covered with numerous pustules and blisters, resembling the severely swollen limbs of a gravely ill patient.
Wisps of strange black mist were drawn from the void, swirling and hovering around him.
"It seems there’s not much difference from a regular Demon Body," he said with a twisted smile, revealing a chilling set of sharp, dense teeth, anything but human.
"Is that so?" Lin Xin also smiled, while a layer of black-red scales, similar to a mask, slowly grew from the lower part of his face, completely covering his lower jaw.
"If it really was no different from an ordinary Demon Body, that would be great. What a pity..."
Hiss!!
A long shadow suddenly shot out from under his right ribcage.
It turned out to be an equally elongated arm covered with scales.
Before Wusheng could react,
another arm burst out from Lin Xin’s right side. He now had the bizarre appearance of one arm on the left and three on the right.
The three arms flexed and clenched as if getting used to their dexterity and control.
Then naturally, all three arms reached behind his back and effortlessly pulled out bone spurs as if they were swords readied in reserve.
His lone left arm slowly grasped the Red Flower Sword.
"The Primitive Demon Body is not a fixed form of Demon Body.
It’s simply a basic embryo that can evolve according to the master’s strengths and desires, along with many other factors, into the most suitable and powerful Demon Body for the host," Lin Xin explained matter-of-factly, his voice no longer the deep human tone it was before but now sharp and eerie, as cold and hard as metal.
"The only pity is that it’s too ugly."
"Ugly?" Wusheng burst into laughter, "If it can kill the opponent, nothing else matters at all!"
"Let me see if the Yuan Dou Demon Sect’s prized strongest Demon Body can stand up to my Black Death Demon Body... let’s find out!!"
Before the last word fell, he rushed toward Lin Xin with speed beyond description—faster than an arrow, swifter than lightning, as if in the blink of an eye, he had instantly moved in front of Lin Xin.
His massive, swollen arms smashed down viciously at Lin Xin’s head.
Before they even made contact, the blisters on Wusheng’s arms burst open in an instant, releasing a dense swarm of black spikes, like a forest of porcupine quills, lunging towards Lin Xin’s upper body with even greater velocity.
