Chapter 316 - 309 Demon Sect

Chapter 316: Chapter 309 Demon Sect

At that moment, the woman in the white dress waved her hand and a black qi enveloped Lin Xin. Both of them disappeared in an instant.

Watching his eldest disciple whisk Lin Xin away with Demonic Qi, Huang Yuan, the True Monarch, quickly composed himself. "In life, things often don’t go according to plan. Think of it as a setback that leads to something better. In the future, I will continue to search more thoroughly. One day, I will indeed find the true genius that fully satisfies me!"

"Inform the entire sect about the establishment of the new Crown Prince, you will handle this matter." He casually ordered.

The woman in black nodded.

"Understood, from now on, he will be the little junior brother of me and my sister, as well as the sole Crown Prince of the Yuan Dou Demon Sect."

"You and Xiao Ying may pass on the Yuan Dou Demonic Technique on my behalf. If any unexpected situation arises, come to me at once," Huang Yuan, the True Monarch, dropped these words and then turned into a wisp of smoke, vanishing from sight.

The woman in black exhaled softly, glancing at the spot where Lin Xin had been standing. The pool of blood on the ground was strikingly conspicuous.

*******************

Black petals drifted down from the sky.

"Where is this?"

Lin Xin floated in midair, staring in shock as countless black petals slowly fell from the sky.

He caught a few petals, only to feel them slightly moist. Looking at his palm, he saw specks of black and red blood where the petals had touched.

"Is this... blood?"

The dark sky was filled with dense clouds, with black blood petals fluttering all around.

"Wasn’t I undergoing the test of Huang Yuan, the True Monarch? How did I end up here? This place... for some reason, it feels eerily familiar."

He pondered, letting the petals in his hand drift away, watching them float down further and further away...

The moment he looked down, his mind was violently shaken.

"This!!... This is!!"

His body tensed up as he looked below.

Beneath him was a massive whirlpool, dark as the ocean.

In the center of the whirlpool sat a huge, terrifying mouth.

The vast whirlpool was impenetrable, its dark color deep and thick, rotating slowly.

Just one look made Lin Xin’s chest feel tight, as though he was being suffocated.

The gaping mouth lay at the very depths of the whirlpool, constantly opening and closing as it chewed on something, all the while absorbing all the surrounding black currents.

Endless streams of a black substance, like water yet like clouds, were incessantly devoured by it, as if it would never stop.

"You’re back?"

Suddenly a man’s voice sounded from behind him.

Lin Xin quickly turned around and saw a familiar figure also floating in midair.

Red Leaf Sword Master.

He appeared indifferent, with a wine gourd still hanging at his waist and Longsword on his back, his face framed by a beard. Only his eyes looked slightly sorrowful as he gazed at the huge whirlpool and the monstrous mouth beneath.

"Red Leaf, Senior..."

"Just call me Red Leaf," the Sword Master said faintly.

Lin Xin tried to take a deep breath, only to find that he seemed to have no concept of breathing at all.

"Right now, you are in the vast gap between the Netherworld and Underworld," said Red Leaf Sword Master calmly.

"Not long ago, I cut off the last vestige of Demonic Thought with the Tao Sword, and in the moment of clarity, I saw a part of fate."

"What do you mean?" Lin Xin asked softly.

Red Leaf did not directly answer his question.

Instead, he caught the drifting petals with his hand.

After a moment of silence, he said gently.

"I have chosen one hundred and twenty-six people from thirteen worlds. Thirty years have passed, and now only nineteen are left."

"Thirteen worlds?! Are there other worlds besides the Netherworld and my Underworld?" Lin Xin asked, astonished.

"The Netherworld and Underworld together are called the Underworld, representing the Yin aspect of the Great Dao. Therefore, the Heavenly Dao here is dominated by Yin. With death as the norm, slaughter, and death are the eternal themes," Red Leaf Sword Master explained calmly.

"There are many, many worlds; you will understand in time. They are boundless... boundless time and space, boundless universes."

"Boundless..." Lin Xin gained a vague understanding.

"You were forcibly brought here by me. Do you see that massive black whirlpool below? That is the Netherworld, and the huge mouth in the center is its source that greedily devours everything constantly—Lion Yuan," Red Leaf Sword Master explained calmly.

"Then, why have you brought me here...?"

Lin Xin slightly puzzled.

"You haven’t fallen too deep, and now a powerful figure is helping you to press out the nefarious power; I’ve sensed something. While the will of the Netherworld does not particularly notice you, perhaps I could help you completely escape," said Red Leaf seriously.

"Escape?!" Lin Xin was startled. The difficulty of escaping the Netherworld was immense; he had read many collected documents about it, and all available information indicated that once you entered the Netherworld, you were no longer in control, with no hope of escape.

"If it were any of us, perhaps it would not be possible, but you are different. You haven’t been bemused much, and your inherent potential isn’t too great, so there may just be a glimmer of hope," Red Leaf said simply.

"What do I need to do?" Since he was summoned here, it meant there was certainly something for him to cooperate with. The nightmares the Netherworld gave him were too much to bear; if he could escape for good, it would be the very goal he dreamed of achieving.

"Two things..." Red Leaf turned around, looking at the slowly rotating vast black whirlpool below.

"First, do not enter the Underworld again.

You haven’t noticed? At first, you were only soul separation, entering on your own. But now, even your body has begun entering with you. Moreover, as soon as your physical body entered the Lion Plains, it began to be gradually assimilated, and the loss of vital parts was the most obvious characteristic."

Lin Xin was suddenly alarmed, also noticing the subtle changes.

"Second, I can help you escape, but you must promise me a cause and effect," said Red Leaf indifferently.

"To gain something, one must inevitably pay a price; I understand," Lin Xin nodded.

"It’s not the time to discuss this promise yet. You’ve stayed here too long, go back."

For the first time, a slight smile appeared on Red Leaf’s face. He waved his hand gently, and suddenly a gust of foul wind assailed Lin Xin, completely enveloping him within it.

"When the time is ripe, I will naturally take action. Then you will know by yourself; strive hard in your cultivation practice," Red Leaf’s last words echoed distantly in Lin Xin’s ears.

****************

Opening his eyes, Lin Xin was suddenly astonished to find that his body was soaking in a yellow liquid.

He was floating inside a cylindrical crystal vat, and through the walls of the vat, he could see numerous dense black pipes converging from all directions, all connected to the base beneath his crystal vat.

The entire vat and pipes were inside a huge, sinister black Cave.

Peacock-shaped wall lamps were embedded everywhere inside the Cave, each holding a Treasure Bead in its beak.

"You’re awake?"

A gentle and pretty woman in white appeared in front of the vat, smiling softly at him.

Only then did Lin Xin startle to the realization that he was not wearing any clothes; his hands quickly covered his lower body.

"What’s the use of covering up? I’ve already studied your body inside and out," the woman in white couldn’t help but laugh.

After laughing for a while, she slowly stopped.

"Feel the terrifying power of the Yuan Dou Demon Sect’s ultimate Demon Body," she said.

Lin Xin was taken aback. Demon Body?

He quickly settled his mind and focused his attention on his own body. Immediately, a domineering and terrifying power surged wildly from the center of his chest, spreading throughout his body.

Countless black vapors began to converge around the vat, and black Demon Patterns started to emerge along Lin Xin’s legs, floating upwards.

From his calves, all the way upwards along his knees, thighs, spreading to his lower abdomen, chest, all the way up to his face.

Bang!

The crystal of the vat suddenly shattered, the yellow liquid hissing as it quickly evaporated into a heavy yellow fog.

As the mist spread, the shattered crystal scattered on the ground.

Lin Xin slowly stepped out of the vat.

Whoosh!

His black hair suddenly shot up, fluttering and being pulled by the airflow.

Looking down at his body, he saw a black diamond-shaped crystal embedded in the center of his chest, surrounded by blood vessels and Demon Patterns protruding from the skin.

"This is for you," the woman’s voice came from outside the fog. Straightaway, a black cloak flew in with her words.

He caught it and immediately wrapped it around himself.

Stepping out of the mist, Lin Xin seemed much younger, exuding a faintly sinister and ghostly charm.

The white streaks in his hair had completely disappeared, and his face lost its weathered look, seemingly reverting to his prime around the age of twenty.

His pitch-black hair, like smooth satin, cascaded over his shoulders as Lin Xin walked up to the woman and stood still, wrapped in a black cloak.

"From today on, you are the fourth member of the Yuan Dou Demon Sect, the only Crown Prince," said the woman in white, looking at Lin Xin with satisfaction as if admiring a fine piece of art.

"Have I passed the test?" Lin Xin inquired.

"Of course," the woman chuckled, "I am the Great Princess’s dogkeeper, you can also call me Master Sister. There is also a Second Princess, Duan Chizi. You’ll meet her later."

"Yuan Dou Demon Sect..." Lin Xin reached out and gently grabbed a lock of his black hair.

Can I say I don’t want to join?

He really wanted to say this, but given the temperament of True Monarch Huang Yuan, once said, he feared he might be beaten to death on the spot.

"Alright, as you’ve already recovered, I, as your Master Sister, will now pass on to you the true core Cultivation Method of the Yuan Dou Demonic Technique," said the dogkeeper with a slight smile, extending her hand and opening it.

The palm of her hand slowly split open a wound, from which two black vessels wriggled out, automatically wrapping around each other like intertwined spirals. They quickly grew like sprouts, rising higher and higher.

Hiss...

Soon, a blood-colored flower the size of an egg bloomed quietly in front of them. In the center of the flower’s pistil lay a black gemstone the size of a cat’s eye.

The dogkeeper picked up the gemstone, holding it in front of her pupil, looking at Lin Xin through it.

"Do you see it?"

"What? What is that?" Lin Xin squinted and asked.

"My bloodline memory, containing the teachings of the Demonic Decree that the Master passed to me," the dogkeeper answered with a smile.

"Do you want it?"

"......."

For some reason, Lin Xin had a feeling that dealing with this Master Sister might be very tricky...(To be continued.
