Chapter 179: Chapter 172: Encirclement and Suppression - Part 2

Thunder roared.

Lightning streaked across the sky, rendering the entire heavens in blue and white.

Lin Xin faintly discerned some vague figures emerging nearby, seemingly loose cultivators with duplicitous intentions, also planning to fish in troubled waters.

He paid them no mind, merely waiting quietly.

Looking upwards toward the clouds, at the edge of the dark clouds, dozens of tiny specks were still fighting each other; disciples from the School of Universal Salvation and the followers of Fish-lipped Dao were rushing to their aid, forming two distinct lines in the sky like flocks of birds.

Huge bolts of lightning flashed intermittently, making the crowd and the enormous cloud mass appear incredibly tiny by comparison.

"The natural world is boundless while human strength has limits... Perhaps the most awe-inspiring thing in this world is this mysterious and ever-changing universe..." Lin Xin gazed at the sky, where the cultivators fighting seemed as tiny as ants. They were too far away for him to see clearly or hear any sounds that reached back to him.

It felt as though he was watching a silent film.

The wind whistled past his ears, blowing fiercely. The thunder boomed, drowning out everything else. In contrast, the Taoists of the Fish-lipped Dao cursed loudly, their faces etched with panic as they soared into the sky.

Most who couldn’t fly simply tried their best to maintain the integrity of the Poisonous Smoke Formation, to guard against the ’wolves’ waiting outside. Meanwhile, some Taoists eyed Lin Xin.

They shouted something in panic which he couldn’t understand and didn’t care to understand.

"Daoist friend, are you also here to watch the excitement?" A richly dressed young man emerged from the woods nearby, holding a black book which faintly emitted Spiritual Light — clearly a Magic Artifact he had refined.

"Aren’t you as well?" Lin Xin didn’t turn around, responding casually.

"I’m Song Zixu. You seem unfamiliar; I suppose you haven’t descended in this region before?" Song Zixu appeared quite familiar, taking a proactive stance as if he wanted to form a closer acquaintance.

Lin Xin ignored him and looked towards the sky again.

"It’s starting..."

He suddenly said.

"What?"

No sooner had he spoken,

Hiss!

A silver line plummeted from the sky, resembling a fish, an incense stick, and a brushstroke — thin and straight yet subtly outlining a curved contour.

As the silver line struck the ground, it landed violently on top of the Taoist compound.

In the originally empty mid-air, a giant red carp materialized suddenly; the carp, covered in golden scales and measuring over ten meters at the head, had only one eye. It brutally rammed into the silver line with its bloodied head.

Bang!!

An intense shockwave followed, shaking the ground and sending the mountains quivering. Lin Xin steadied himself and continued to watch as the silver line abruptly disappeared, replaced by an equally gigantic blood-red crocodile that emerged behind, over twenty meters in length, biting down hard on the middle of the carp.

The two colossal creatures fiercely battled each other, yet both appeared faintly translucent, clearly not real beings but rather some sort of condensation of energy fields.

Following the silver line, more dense, silver points materialized in the dark clouds, soon creating a hissing sound like rainfall.

A large swath of silver lines then heavily rained down, pounding into the Fish-lipped Dao compound below but were blocked by a red light on the surface of the buildings.

Roar!

An old Taoist, clad in a woman’s red dress, roared angrily as he burst skyward. His dress, bright red and covered with many floral patterns, revealed upon close observation that each red flower contained the bloody and beautiful face of a woman, with traces of blood not yet cleaned, showing the haste in which they were made.

The old Taoist spread his arms, releasing dense black strands of hair that filled the sky like ropes, binding toward the giant red crocodile.

Above the clouds, Living Buddha bowed towards the two old Taoists.

"I implore both Immortal Masters to take action."

"Prince Living, you flatter us."

The silver-lipped Taoist Priest chuckled slightly, pulling a fruit resembling a banana from his sleeve, which on closer inspection was silvery white and hard, remarkably lifelike and delicate.

"Behold my Magic Artifact,"

he said as he tossed the silver banana downwards.

As the banana spun violently in mid-air, its speed increasing more and more frantically, it soon transformed into a Void Shadow, shooting directly towards the old Taoist in the red dress.

The Taoist issued several strands of hair in an attempt to block it, but they passed through the illusion as if it were a mirage, touching no solid object.

"Immortal Master, isn’t this the Silver Stripe Fruit that Prince Living just offered for your enjoyment?!" exclaimed Living Buddha in astonishment.

The silver-lipped Taoist Priest laughed heartily, stroking his long beard.

"Indeed, it is the Silver Stripe Fruit. To deal with a demonic child who blurs Yin and Yang, a mere fruit is more than enough!"

"Immortal Master... this..." Living Buddha was taken aback, watching the Silver Stripe Fruit chase the demonic Daoist below, showing no formidable power but merely like a simple toss.

Lin Xin was also astonished below, watching the Silver Stripe Fruit spinning rapidly and closely chasing the old Taoist in red, then with a slap,

a dull thump sounded. The old Taoist’s body shone with red light as the faces on his dress wailed pathetically, screaming in agony.

The Silver Stripe Fruit violently collided with the demonic Daoist.

Silver and red light exploded blindingly, and countless strands of black hair shot wildly as if endless.

Ah!!

The demonic Daoist bellowed, shaking the entire ground with his roar.

The entire Poisonous Smoke Formation of the Fish Lips Dao crazily began spewing red smoke from the ground’s cracks, merging into the sky with a fierce roar.

Thousands upon thousands of strands of red smoke converged behind the sorcerer to form a huge human face that, with its mouth wide open, fiercely roared towards the three people in the sky, Pudu Sheng, and the army of cultivators behind them.

The roar was inaudible and invisible, only a violently twisted fluctuation could barely be felt as it shot out instantly.

Above the clouds, the two people beside Pudu Sheng simultaneously changed their expressions. Both stepped forward, standing in front of Pudu Sheng.

With a swing of their horsetail whisks, a halo spread out, forming a gold and silver disc resembling a Taiji diagram, which slowly rotated.

The invisible fluctuation struck the disc.

Whoom!

The surface of the disc even began to faintly show some cracks.

"Prince Sheng, be careful! Quickly evade! This is a desperate strike empowered by the combined will of thousands of sorcerers!"

"Now is the time to attack!" Pudu Sheng, however, was not at all disordered. He drew his sword and roared, "Gentlemen, follow me and slaughter the sorcerers!"

Immediately, the cultivators who had been waiting behind him flew down, each stepping on a flying sword and shooting rapidly towards the area below.

Below, the Fish Lips Dao’s formation was blocked, and the other areas were extremely weak. The sorcerers of the Fish Lips Dao also rose up into the air to intercept and prevent the invaders.

Below, Lin Xin was too busy to pay attention to the battle above.

With a large amount of poisonous smoke being drawn away, the Poisonous Smoke Formation was nearing collapse. No longer fearful, he flashed forward with astounding speed into the formation, his legs not even touching the ground of the smoky formation base. In one breath, he leapt dozens of meters through the air like a flying swallow and lightly landed in front of the manor’s side wall.

The wall was painted with various indecent images of men and women, quite offensive to the eyes.

Several sorcerers noticed the newcomer and charged from the side. Each released red poisonous smoke and pink scarves, along with Poisonous Water Daggers, all converging together and shooting towards Lin Xin.

Lin Xin did not even look, but with a single leap, he dodged the magical artifact’s attack like lightning and charged towards the side entrance of the manor.

At the entrance, a few Taoists rushed towards him together.

Swish!

Sword Light flashed, and several were merely thrown away, heavily injured but not dead.

The two-faced people were robust with their Body Refinement; Lin Xin did not want to entangle with them. He dashed inside.

Many Taoists behind him had no time to attend to him, as more loose cultivators taking advantage of the chaos had surged in behind him.

In a few flashes, Lin Xin leapt into the inner hall of the manor, where many large iron cages were placed. Shockingly, as if raising livestock, dozens of women were confined inside, all naked.

Seeing him burst in, the women also looked at him with blank stares, like those of idiots, expressionless.

"Although I sympathize with you, the appearance of two-faced people really doesn’t suit my aesthetic." Lin Xin smiled slightly, ignoring these women, instead scanning the inner hall. His body flashed again, suddenly appearing in front of an inner door, swinging out his sword.

With a bang, the wall collapsed, revealing a bedroom-like room inside.

"Ha!" Suddenly a strange blue-clothed person sprang out, lunging at Lin Xin.

Sword Light flashed, Lin Xin slowly sheathed his sword, walking past the person who lunged at him from behind, staggered a few steps, then the person’s body split into two and collapsed to the ground.

Puff!

Strangely, there seemed to be no blood inside this person, but instead, a large cloud of red poisonous smoke burst out.

Lin Xin held his breath, scanned the bedroom, found the door to the study, and directly rammed into it.

Inside, an old Taoist with a bloody mouth, breathing with difficulty and seemingly wounded by a sword in the chest, seemed nearly dead. Several young double-faced men watched Lin Xin, who had burst in, with panicked expressions.

Swish, swish, swish! Several black scarf magic artifacts flew out, these people all drew their swords and charged at him, wanting a quick resolution.

Lin Xin drew his sword again, the Manor’s standard longsword turning into several silver streaks, clanging against these double-faced people, only cutting through their clothes.

Their speed seemed slow as a snail to Lin Xin, who casually dodged the magic artifacts and their encirclement with a flash of his body.

Channeling full Spiritual Energy, he struck once more with a fierce sword, unleashing the Heart Eye Sword Path. This time, not even a sword trace appeared, as if it was merely a void wave.

The double-faced people were as if struck by lightning, their bodies thrown harshly backwards, crashing into the wall behind them, making a large hole and flying into another room of the manor, causing a commotion.

Lin Xin did not look back, took out the previously acquired Storage Bag, directly swept all the study’s books and notes into the Storage Bag.

Bang!

Suddenly, a red-clothed old Taoist appeared, flashing as if lightning at the broken hole.

Upon making eye contact with Lin Xin, without a word, both disappeared at the same time, reappearing at each other’s previous positions.

Lin Xin felt a chill in his heart, missed with his sword blade, turned around, and saw the opponent had also appeared where he had previously been, knowing he had met a formidable enemy.

Almost at the same time, both disappeared again; in the room, only their blurry shadows were entangled in a fierce fight, with neither sword blade nor dagger light visible, only sword and dagger marks occasionally appearing on the surrounding walls, showing a deadly struggle was taking place.

"Heart Technique!"

Lin Xin’s voice suddenly rang out.

Swish, swish, swish!

With several soft sounds, Lin Xin’s figure suddenly appeared, his eyes subtly emitting a violet-red color. The old Taoist also appeared simultaneously, standing still for a moment, then his body ripped apart as countless white Sword Qi furiously exploded on him.

In the blink of an eye, the old Taoist was reduced to countless pieces of meat that fell to the ground.

Lin Xin silently sheathed his sword and walked out of the room. (To be continued. If you like this work, welcome to Qidian (qidian.com) to cast a recommendation vote, monthly ticket. Your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users please visit m.qidian.com to read.)
