Chapter 160: Chapter 153 Casting the Sword 5
Amidst everyone’s hesitation, a red glow suddenly surged from the villa on the mountain.
"It’s out!"
"Here it comes!!"
The scattered cultivators immediately became excited.
"A Third Grade magic artifact... It can already be considered a treasure! If I could obtain one in my lifetime..."
A sturdy man with a saber spoke with a sigh of longing.
Hiss!
Suddenly, a shadow darted past him—it was someone who couldn’t restrain themselves and rushed forward to take action.
"Charge!"
"If we’re late, there will be no chance left!"
Moved by that shadow as if a nerve had been struck, almost all the figures immediately charged out.
Without hesitation, the sturdy man also rushed out.
Brilliant flashes of magic artifacts, protective and aggressive alike, were taken out by people; many were common items, yet for a moment the scene looked quite spectacular.
Within the woods, flashes of light swiftly passed by. The speed of those on the cultivation path was extremely fast; a single step could carry them at least seven or eight meters.
Daoist Master Baiyun pondered for a moment, glanced at the White Tiger Demon King, who snorted coldly, a white mist winding under his feet transforming into a cloud cluster, enveloping him and then vanishing.
Huang Ci placed several talisman papers under his feet, and his figure shot forth like lightning, almost as if fleeing across the tree trunks without touching the ground.
"Heh heh." Daoist Master Baiyun sneered, shaking out a dark and tattered piece of cloth that emitted a faint glow and instantly turned into a flying carpet. He leapt onto it and soared into the sky, heading towards the villa.
Hiss!
"Ah!"
A guard of the villa was the first to be crossed by a flash of light, offering no resistance; he fell, his body severed in two.
"Don’t kill anyone!!"
A loose cultivator yelled.
"Getting the treasure is crucial! Killing people would escalate things!"
But it was useless. As soon as the loose cultivators entered the bamboo forest at the outskirts of the villa, someone, it was not clear who, began to strike bloody blows upon encountering the people of the villa, killing more than a dozen in a few encounters.
Underneath the villa’s pavilion, Fei Yi Xie saw a group with dazzling lights rushing in and felt anxious. He had seen the might of cultivators before.
Still far from the main pavilion, he shrank his massive body to one side. While others charged to engage in a fray, he took the opportunity to hide in a dark corner.
"Kill them!!"
Boom!!
A row of Luminous Talisman Stones flew out, immediately causing a few cultivators with shallower cultivation to be blown away. The head of one cultivator exploded on the spot, scattering brains and blood everywhere.
The villa’s elite troops sprang to action—disciples clad in white armor emerged, casting talisman stones from their hands.
The abrupt attack seemed to daze the loose cultivators for a moment, causing their pace to falter.
"Just a trifle, watch this!"
A cultivator raised his hand, unleashing a torrent of black water. The black water landing on the surrounding villa disciples immediately caused bubbles of various sizes to swell up, causing pain that made people roll on the ground.
The villa disciples and the loose cultivators muddled into a fight. Ou Yinghong and Taoist Master Lu Suo also rushed out; upon viewing the scene outside, they drew their swords and charged into the fray.
The villa’s retainers also realized something was amiss and swiftly emerged, their figures incredibly fast.
"Loose cultivators? Have you lost your minds!?"
One of them yelled harshly. From behind him, hiss, two white lights flew forth, clean and neat, decapitating two Innate Loose Cultivators.
"Roar!" The White Tiger Demon King Bai Yun enveloped them with a gleeful swoop, fiercely covering a retainer.
Only moments passed when a fierce explosion was heard within. The white clouds dispersed to reveal nothing but a puddle of the retainer’s clothes and shoes.
"It’s a Foundation Establishment expert!!" The remaining retainers suddenly became terrified.
"Inform the villa master and the steward!" One of them retreated rapidly, hastening back into the pavilion.
The others swiftly drew their Luminous Talisman Swords.
"Long-range strike!" Sanyuan Zen Master’s voice traveled from afar.
Hiss, hiss, hiss, hiss!
In an instant, dozens upon dozens of Luminous Talisman Swords, without any hesitation, flew towards the White Tiger Demon King.
"You dare attack with these trifles?" The Demon King sneered viciously. His cloud enveloped him once more and he vanished from sight. Wherever his fog covered on the villa’s main courtyard, there was no disciple who could stand in his way; all sorts of attacks were rendered futile.
All that was visible was an engulfing cloud, and with it, a disciple disappeared.
Fortunately, he quickly forged straight towards the back of the villa, rushing in the direction of the red light without the slightest hint of lingering to slaughter. Otherwise, the disciples who arrived later from the villa probably wouldn’t even dare to think about resisting.
Daoist Master Baiyun, too, rode his flying carpet without paying any heed to ordinary disciples below. He did not attack either, just soared straight up toward the location of the furnace.
"Stop them! Do not let them pass!" shouted the guard.
The Manor’s Formation activated, and as the Spiritual Light fluctuated, several streams of light splashed upwards, temporarily entangling the Qi Refinement Realm loose cultivators.
Meanwhile, behind the Furnace, three especially eye-catching Flying Swords soared through the air, transforming into white lines aimed at Daoist Master Bao Ying and the White Tiger Demon King.
"Triangular Sword Formation?"
Daoist Master Bao Ying stretched out his hand and pointed, with black rings of light spiraling around his finger, formed by dozens of revolving Runes making up a semi-transparent Talisman Wheel.
Upon contact with the Talisman Wheel, the white Sword Light instantly dissipated.
"It’s decent enough to block Qi Refinement practitioners," he said with a smile.
Glancing to the other side, the White Tiger Demon King, from the depths of the clouds, extended a tiger claw and swiftly grabbed the Flying Swords, forcefully snapping them. Then, the sounds of him chewing and swallowing emerged from within the cloud.
"Really not choosy about your food, are you?" Daoist Master Bao Ying sneered.
"Humph! What do you know!" The White Tiger Demon King ignored him and charged towards the Furnace.
The Furnace was in a bamboo forest behind the Manor, within a huge square fortress, with many chimney-like tubes standing above. Around the gray-black Furnace were many honeycomb holes, endlessly spewing out massive amounts of coal smoke and hot air.
The White Tiger Demon King and Daoist Master Bao Ying were the quickest, with no one able to stop them along the way, they shot straight towards the Furnace.
"Everyone, scatter! You cannot stop them," Lin Xin’s voice came from inside.
As soon as he heard the fighting outside, he had already asked his family and friends to take shelter in the basement. A few people were difficult to restrain, like Ou Yinghong, who absolutely refused to hide alone and disobeyed orders, rushing out to confront the attackers first.
Bang!
Amidst the astonished cries of the blacksmiths, the White Tiger Demon King appeared in physical form, dispersing the clouds, and with one kick, forced open the heavy iron door of the Furnace, strutting in.
Within the Furnace, aside from the blacksmiths, was only Lin Xin, who stood in the center with both hands tightly against the Red Flower Sword, with no other person around.
"Quite brave!" Daoist Master Bao Ying walked in. Eyeing around, he immediately understood that the other side had given up resistance.
"Hand over the Magic Artifact, and we can spare your life," he said quite naturally.
Lin Xin had anticipated the current situation, but he didn’t expect to still be a step behind, as these loose cultivators actually dared to storm in to kill people, including those at the Foundation Establishment Stage. This was far beyond his expectations.
"The Magic Artifact requires one last step to complete. If interrupted, the effort involved will be wasted. I’m sure both of you wouldn’t want to see that happen, would you?" Even though he was nervous, the expression on his face remained unchanged. Having fought in the You Mansion for too long, he had been walking on the edge of life and death almost constantly for years, and he wouldn’t lose his composure over such a minor predicament.
"Think you can trick me, kid?" The White Tiger Demon King sneered coldly, "How about I skin you first and then slowly roast you over a fire for thirteen days, letting you experience what true scorching feels like?"
"This must be the famous Daoist Master Bao Ying, right?" Lin Xin ignored the White Tiger Demon King and turned his attention to the other side.
Daoist Master Bao Ying narrowed his eyes slightly.
"You know me?"
"Daoist Master of the Divine Path, you’ve been near my music domain for so many years, it would be quite incompetent of me not to know of you," Lin Xin said with a smile.
Seeing Lin Xin’s composure, Daoist Master Bao Ying became intrigued and scrutinized him more closely. The more he observed, the more strange his gaze became.
"Kid, set a time. When will it be ready? If you deceive me, I swear to consume every bit of your little manor, inside and out," the White Tiger Demon King, somewhat displeased, said. He originally thought that entering would allow him to seize the artifact instantly, but it wasn’t yet ready.
"Perhaps Daoist Master Bao Ying has some knowledge of the Formation Path, he can check to see if I am lying," Lin Xin said with composure.
"Alright then..." The White Tiger Demon King looked at Daoist Master Bao Ying and, seeing his slow nod, was somewhat resigned.
He swept his eyes like large copper bells over the inside of the Furnace.
"I’ll meditate first. I want to see when you’ll finish."
He casually walked over to one side of the Furnace.
Boom!
Suddenly, white smoke burst forth, and several blacksmiths were enveloped in an instant, their screams resounding one after another.
"Let’s snack on some meat first!"
"Run!" Old Master Yang was among them, trapped by the White Cloud, unable to free himself. He roared at his sons and grandsons to escape.
The rest scattered in disarray, previously paralyzed with fear, not daring to move, and now they ran in all directions like a flock of sparrows.
Lin Xin’s pupils constricted, and his hands that were tightly pressed against the Red Flower Sword clenched even tighter. He nearly dislodged himself from the sword.
"White Tiger Demon King, if you dare to eat anyone here, I will immediately give up on the Magic Artifact! I’d rather destroy it than let you get your hands on it! Do you believe me?" Lin Xin said sharply.
The White Tiger Demon King paused for a moment, holding a blacksmith who was about to be stuffed into his mouth. Hearing Lin Xin’s words, his hand temporarily froze. The blacksmith, petrified, was soaked in sweat, which streamed down as if beads had fallen off a string.
"Heh heh heh... you dare threaten me?" His large eyes opened even wider, the golden pupils exuding a hint of dangerous light as he stared intently at Lin Xin.
"You might as well try it!"
Lin Xin stared back at him without yielding an inch.
With a flash of savage light, it took a moment for the White Tiger Demon King to slowly release the man in his hand.
"Interesting."
He tossed aside the blacksmith in his hand and glanced at Daoist Master Bao Ying, who surprisingly had already begun meditating with closed eyes, totally unperturbed by the presence of a Third Grade Magic Artifact.
Both Foundation Establishment experts simply waited in the Furnace for the time being, ignoring the ongoing sounds of fighting and conflict outside.
"Half an hour. If it’s not good, don’t blame me for eating people!" The White Tiger Demon King laughed coldly, knowing that the retainers from the Sword Sect couldn’t possibly arrive within a few days, so he wasn’t worried at all.
"Demon King, rest assured," Lin Xin replied softly. "Old Master Yang, you and the others should leave first."
Old Master Yang was still in shock, having narrowly escaped death. On hearing the instruction, he quickly led the remaining blacksmiths to swiftly exit the Furnace, sticking close to the walls.
