Eternal Swordmaster
Chapter 151 - 144: Wild Intentions, Part 2

Chapter 151: Chapter 144: Wild Intentions, Part 2

"Yellow Robe? It seems you were indeed hiding here." Yuan Shihong instantly understood and sneered. "My Yuan Family never intermarries with outsiders; our rules have always been so, whether you find it disgusting or not is not for you to say."

"Maintaining the purity of the bloodline?" Yellow Robe neither agreed nor disagreed. "May I know what brings you here?"

"What brings me here? I have ascertained that Spirit Heart Villa is harboring a fugitive—a crime unforgivable, and I’ve come to rectify it in the name of the sect." Yuan Shihong said coldly. "As for you, betraying the sect, breaking the blood oath you once swore, you’d better obediently come back with me to the sect to confess and accept punishment."

"A fugitive? May I ask which fugitive Uncle-Master is referring to?" The cold smirk on Yellow Robe’s face also disappeared, replaced by utter indifference.

"Whom am I referring to? Naturally, I am referring to.... you!!"

Yuan Shihong’s words had just finished when he suddenly disappeared and in the blink of an eye appeared at Yellow Robe’s side, thrusting the Golden Scale Sword.

But he stabbed at air as, unexpectedly, Yellow Robe had also instantly moved away using Flash Spirit movement technique, appearing over ten meters away. What was left in his original place was only an afterimage.

"Flash Spirit movement technique? Even at the Fourth Layer!?! I didn’t expect someone of your realm to have cultivated your qinggong to such an extent..." A flicker of annoyance crossed Yuan Shihong’s eyes.

"I am flattered by Uncle-Master’s praise," Yellow Robe said, his back drenched in cold sweat. He had nearly been killed by a single thrust just moments before. He had witnessed the power of that golden magic sword firsthand; even a Qi Cultivator of the Seventh Layer had been killed instantly by a single stroke, let alone him, a mere Second Layer.

As he spoke, he was already moving in rapid successions, creating distance between himself and Yuan Shihong.

"Think you can run?" Yuan Shihong was not panicked in the slightest, "Dare to attack my Wan’er, if I don’t seize you to flay and draw out your marrow, you really think I, Yuan Shihong, am easy to provoke!" He refused to believe the other could sustain such high-level movement techniques for long.

With the vast difference in the total amount of Spiritual Energy between them, it was only a matter of time before the other was exhausted and had no choice but to submit!

He scooped up Wan’er in his arms and swiftly pursued Yellow Robe. Spirit Heart Villa couldn’t run away, but if Yellow Robe did, it would be difficult to find him again.

Nighttime, another county town not far from Yue Lin Mountain.

Within an underground gambling den.

Shua!

Amidst a series of screams, over a dozen gambling den guards were sent flying out, violently crashing into the surrounding betting tables, blood gushing from their throats, unstoppable, they struggled for only a moment before their breathing ceased.

Lin Xin held a sword in one hand and a small Spiritual Light Shield in the other.

A thin layer of White Light surfaced in front of him.

"Fire!"

From a distance, a row of crossbowmen in the gambling den unleashed their bolts at him upon command.

The hissing crossbow arrows flew towards him, striking the White Light film fiercely to no avail; the bolts were effortlessly blocked by the light, without even a ripple.

"Where are the experts from Star Calamity Hall?"

Lin Xin looked around. He couldn’t find any formidable figures; in fact, there wasn’t even a single practitioner of internal martial arts, as if all the experts had been wiped out by him in one night.

The group of crossbowmen including their leader had turned pale. Some of the crossbowmen were already sneaking away.

But any crossbowman who attempted to flee was caught by black vines that suddenly sprouted from the ground, dragged them under without a sound.

With a light wave, Lin Xin executed Flameless Swordsmanship. Three bursts of scorching Inner Qi Flow shot out, exploding amidst the group of crossbowmen, tossing them about. Those directly hit turned black from the intense heat and were instantly burnt to death.

"Boring."

After dismantling the opponent’s formation, Lin Xin sheathed his sword. From under his feet, dozens of roots shot out wildly, wrapping around all living people present, regardless of whether they were gamblers or gambling den guards. All were consumed one by one by the Man-Eating Flower as its food supply.

This underground gambling den was actually one of Star Calamity Hall’s bases, but to his surprise, there were only a few common external-style practitioners. They were all taken down with a single stroke.

With screams echoing throughout the gambling den, Lin Xin stood quietly in the center, watching as the Man-Eating Flower continuously devoured the flesh and blood of those present.

By now, Star Calamity Hall and the Red Building should have received news and might have already started sending people over. Perhaps drawing out the experts was part of his strategy.

In a matter of minutes, the Man-Eating Flower had devoured all the dozens of people present, leaving only fragments of clothing on the ground.

Lin Xin lifted the Red Flower Sword, red light shimmering, runic inscriptions surfacing, and in an instant, the Man-Eating Flower quietly returned to its residence in the Outer Regions.

The Man-Eating Flower was in a period of evolution, requiring massive consumption to accelerate the evolutionary process. Thus, Lin Xin, sparing no effort, ensured the Man-Eating Flower was well-fed, even if it wasn’t feasting on experts.

"Next."

He recalled the intelligence records he had obtained and swept towards the gambling den’s exit.

Lan Ye Manor.

Across the hilly fields, deep blue night flowers emit bursts of fragrance under the moonlight.

A blue-clad young girl was gently bending over, meticulously trimming the withered branches and leaves of the flowers.

Vaguely, there were figures protecting her from a distance, and behind her stood a chic dark blue manor. From within the manor came the faint sound of laughing and talking girls, but no male voices, all were girls.

The girl bent down to snip a bit of dead leaves in front of her, then sprinkled some white powder on the blue night flowers with care.

Suddenly, she paused slightly, straightening up to gaze backward with a slight turn of her head.

A middle-aged man with a wooden expression had appeared behind her at some point.

Taken aback, Lan Ye turned around.

"Could you be Lan Ye of the Red Building?" The man gave her a slight smile, inquiring.

"I am...." Lan Ye nodded gently, but abruptly, a burst of White Light flared before her eyes.

In the sound of a sword ringing, she didn’t even get to see how the opponent drew their weapon, only feeling a momentary blur of pain before she knew no more.

"Miss Lan!!"

Only now did a group of women clad in red rush out of the garden, all charging towards Lin Xin. Seeing the scene before them, their eyes red with fury, they flew towards him like mad.

The exterior guards as well, their eyes wide with rage, charged forth as if they were ready to risk their own lives.

At this moment, Lan Ye’s head had been severed from her body. Her beautiful head was held aloft by Lin Xin’s sword, who, with a light flick, sent it flying. It struck an oncoming guard with a thud, sending him flying backward, his chest bones completely shattered, killing him instantly.

Lin Xin held his sword in both hands, the blade emanating white Sword Qi.

"Die!!"

Suddenly, a red shadow shot from the distant sky, aiming fiercely for Lin Xin’s face.

With a cold snort, Lin Xin slashed upward with his sword. The Sword Qi contracted to the blade, poised yet unreleased.

Clang!!

A red and a white collided violently, and a thin ring of Qi exploded from the point of impact, sending transparent ripples outward.

After a deadlock of a second, boom, Lin Xin forcefully swung downward, sending the red shadow crashing into the ground with brutal force.

With a muffled thud, the ground suddenly gave way to a large crater, and only then did the red shadow reveal itself—a seductive red-clothed woman with blood-red lips.

Her fingers were sharp black claws, obviously laced with deadly poison.

Lin Xin’s eyes were tinged with red, and the corners of his mouth twitched with a cruel smile that even he himself hadn’t noticed,

"Have you finally shown yourself, Witch...."

"You killed my daughter, I want you dead!!" The tears of the red-clothed witch poured uncontrollably from her eyes. Her Spiritual Energy surged violently throughout her body, spreading out like waves to create an oppressive force that blew grass, soil, and rocks outward.

She soared into the air as if defying gravity and charged at Lin Xin, transforming into an arc of red light. Red lines shot out around her, wrapping around her body and forming blood-colored Runes, suddenly increasing her speed. Her sharp nails even glowed with a hint of green.

Lin Xin gripped his sword and walked slowly forward. His eyes turned increasingly red. A faint red Spiritual Energy also began to swirl around his body, forming a Spiritual Wind that pressed outwards in all directions.

The red shadow shot towards him at an instant, only to be cleaved away by his sword.

Boom!

It was like an explosion. His longsword seemed as though it hadn’t moved at all, blurring only for an instant.

But in front of him, ripples abruptly burst forth, as if the red shadow was an arrow shot toward him, repelled by immense brute force.

Boom!

Once again, the red shadow was sent flying back.

Boom! Boom! Boom!!....

Time and again, Lin Xin pressed forward, with ripples constantly blooming before him. The Witch, however, seemed tireless as she continued her frenzied assaults.

With the deadly poison of the Red Chamber, a mere scratch would be enough for a turnaround, yet she was in despair, finding that she couldn’t even get close to her opponent.

"Is this the extent of the famed Red Chamber’s Witch?" Lin Xin held his sword tilted toward the ground, moving forward unobstructed as if he was just taking a casual stroll.

Without using any Sword Techniques and relying solely on brute strength and speed, he boosted his Sword Speed with the burst of Spiritual Energy. Just this combination left his opponent powerless to resist.

"You...."

Once more, she was fiercely thrown back, tumbling along the ground and creating a path through the flower field.

The Witch tried several times to get up but couldn’t continue; her face was bloodied, and who knows how many bones she broke.

Speed and poison were their Cultivation Technique’s greatest strengths, yet now they were utterly suppressed by Lin Xin, with no power to fight back.

Lin Xin approached the Witch, reminded of the time he had been poisoned by a Witch during his trials, which led to his unconsciousness. His memories triggered by her red dress.

If it weren’t for that Witch, he wouldn’t have been poisoned. If he hadn’t been poisoned and unconscious, Lingling wouldn’t have had to expend her body’s energy, draining her potential and even her life.

Everything traced back to that initial encounter with the Red Chamber.

Raising his longsword high, Lin Xin’s eyes turned completely blood-red, like a bloodthirsty demon under the moonlit night.

"I will return everything the Red Chamber once did to me."

The frigid voice fell; accompanied by the screams behind him as Yin Mantuo slaughtered the rest of the Red Chamber’s subordinates.

Amidst the pitiful groans of the Witch, the sword tip pierced straight through her mouth and out the back of her head.

"Yin Mantuo."

The red in Lin Xin’s eyes slowly dissipated. He picked up the opponent’s waist pouch and let the roots drag her body into the soil.

When the final woman’s scream died down, an abrupt silence engulfed the surroundings, not even a hint of insects or birds chirping.

Yin Mantuo slowly rose from the soil, standing behind Lin Xin. Its massive eyeballs were veined with countless blood vessels.

Its entire body resembled a gently swaying red flower, except at the center of its petals was a large white eyeball. Now, as it approached the eve of its evolution, numerous vines and leaves gathered, wrapping the white eyeball into a large cocoon.

Lin Xin turned around, looking at the towering six-meter-tall Man-Eating Flower.

He had a sense that this second evolution of the Man-Eating Flower might bring him a great surprise.

Yet he was completely unaware that deep within his pupils, there lurked a sinister blood-colored Rune that flickered in and out of view, emitting an eerie red glow. (To be continued.
