Chapter 145: Chapter 139 Earth Fire Golden Plum - Part 2

Slap.

Lin Xin’s right hand flashed like lightning, and with a back and forth movement, he already had a bamboo chopstick in his hand.

Liu Zong was also about to make a move. Although the chopstick was used for a sneak attack and its speed and strength were nothing unusual, just ordinary external martial arts, he was a step too slow. Realizing he was being attacked, he instantly became furious and stood up abruptly.

"Who!"

"Me!"

The woman cooperated, quickly standing up in response.

Liu Zong’s hand fiercely gripped the sword handle, and the people next to him also stood up, staring fiercely at the woman and her companions.

"A sneak attack from the shadows, I think you’re looking for...." His harsh words were cut off as Lin Xin raised his hand to stop him.

Lin Xin slowly stood up, facing the woman and the lama.

"This time, my friend might have said something offensive, please forgive us a lot."

"Forgive?" The woman’s eyebrows shot up, her eyes swirling, "You think you can easily fool someone with a bad reputation, let me tell you! I’m not so easily...."

However, Lin Xin simply chuckled and took out a small silver ingot, casually tossing it to her.

The woman immediately fell silent, catching the silver, a flash of joy in her eyes. She was actually just adept at lip reading, not having the extraordinary hearing Lin Xin thought she had.

"Well then, seeing how sincere you are, I’ll reluctantly forgive you." Her anger subsided then.

After this brief interlude, Lin Xin and his companions hurriedly ate their food, finished quickly, rented rooms, and then went to rest.

The next morning.

Lin Xin went downstairs and joined Liu Zong. Together with the others, they mounted their horses and leisurely followed the official road deep into Yue Lin Mountain.

After riding for a while, they dismounted in a meadow to rest, and soon one of Liu Zong’s subordinates came up and whispered a few words into his ear.

After hearing the report, Liu Zong walked over to Lin Xin.

"Sect Master, that woman is following us again."

"Woman? You mean those few lamas?" Lin Xin was regulating his Spiritual Energy and communicating with his Red Flower Sword, exchanging spiritual essences, and opened his eyes only when he heard this.

"That Joyous Bodhisattva?"

"Yes. It seems they are also heading the same way," Liu Zong whispered softly.

"Leave them be; we’ll go our way," Lin Xin said casually.

Liu Zong and the others naturally agreed.

Soon, a small horse-drawn carriage appeared on the road behind them. The two-wheeled carriage moved slowly, driven by the lama they had seen before, with another lama following beside the carriage.

The carriage was adorned with pink curtains, which gave off a somewhat ambiguous air.

Lin Xin and his party ignored it, waiting for the small carriage to pass first.

Unexpectedly, the carriage slowly stopped beside them on the meadow, the curtains lifted, revealing the pretty face of the Joyous Bodhisattva. She looked over, showing a face that seemed to say "what a coincidence."

Getting out of the carriage, the woman, twirling in a tight red dress that hugged her body to just the hips, walked toward Lin Xin’s side.

"Stop." A skilled fighter stepped forward to block her.

"What’s wrong? I’m just coming over to ask for directions, why so fierce?" The woman retorted with a coquettish complaint.

"What do you want?"

"Let go of the Bodhisattva!"

The two lamas behind the woman now came forward, positioning themselves on either side of her, protecting her as they argued with the skilled fighter.

Liu Zong’s expression turned cold on the side.

"I’ll go teach them a lesson."

"No need. Let them come over." Lin Xin also wanted to see what the woman was up to. His group clearly carried weapons and were not good people, yet she dared to approach.

Soon, Liu Zong went over, exchanged a few words, and then walked back with the woman.

"This humble woman has seen the young master," the woman said to Lin Xin, "May I ask if the young master is headed deep into Yue Lin Mountain?"

"What do you want?" Lin Xin didn’t respond to her question but instead asked one of his own.

The woman smirked with a worldly-wise smile, discreetly sizing up Lin Xin’s attire and demeanor. A certain suspicion in her heart was affirmed, and her eyes subtly brightened.

"Ah, young master, this journey is long and you don’t seem to have a maid or anything. There’s no fun along the way. If you wouldn’t mind..."

"Take her away." Lin Xin interrupted her before she could finish, closing his eyes, no longer wanting to deal with her.

Liu Zong signaled slightly, and immediately two skilled fighters laughed coldly and stepped forward, seizing her arms and dragging her away.

The woman became frantic; this was a rare opportunity to run into an incognito wealthy target. Such chances, if usual, couldn’t even be exchanged for lying in bed with a thousand men. If she could seize it, she could enjoy endless wealth and glory in the future.

But the skilled fighters grasping her arms were immovable as if cast from iron, allowing no struggle, and quickly tossed her away; the lamas on her side were also defeated without resistance, and although they were strong and didn’t suffer injuries, they were still beaten black and blue.

After this incident, Lin Xin and his party had rested enough and resumed their journey, but unexpectedly the woman was still following behind. Only one lama was left, driving the carriage, accompanying her as she followed Lin Xin and the others.

When Lin Xin stopped, they stopped; when Lin Xin walked, they walked.

Following for a good half of the day, the mountain path of Yue Lin Mountain was visibly extending upward in front of them.

"Tell them to leave." Lin Xin tossed a large silver ingot to a subordinate; he didn’t want to complicate matters further with unnecessary killings.

The man nodded, turned around, and walked toward the woman. After giving her the silver, indeed she did not follow any longer.

The group slowly climbed the mountain path. Halfway up, the horses could climb no further, so they tied the horses in the forest and left two people to watch over them.

The rest, along with Lin Xin, ascended the mountain lightly.

Soon after they had begun their ascent, the woman in the red dress led a group up the mountain as well.

This group, each armed and with clothing in disarray but all wearing red bands on their arms, was led by a man with a fierce face, dangling two golden earrings, wielding a Ring Pommel Saber.
