Chapter 103: Chapter 102: The Grand Wedding Part 2
The guests also gradually came to understand something.
People in yellow robes and Kong Yuhui and others all vaguely realized the identity of this woman.
An Ying looked around, her gaze pausing briefly on each guest, but her eyes seemed unfocused.
The autumn wind blew, flipping up a corner of the "Happiness" character posted not far away on the wall.
Her gaze settled quietly on the large double "Happiness" character.
"Ying’er..." Lin Xin had a thousand thoughts in his mind, but he didn’t know what to say,
"Didn’t you once say that you would marry me?" An Ying bit her lip, looking at the "Happiness" character.
Lin Xin fell silent once more.
Xiao Lingling seemed to realize something as well. She slowly turned around and looked at An Ying in the courtyard, the happiness and smile on her face gradually fading.
"Say something," An Ying suddenly raised her voice. Her gaze fell sharply on Xiao Lingling.
"Is it this woman? Is it her who seduced you?! Senior Brother, tell me, if you say it is, I will kill her for you right now!"
Her eyes were faintly red, and the hand holding the sword hilt was getting tighter, as a chilling coldness emanated from her.
Xiao Lingling turned her head back and looked at Lin Xin standing beside her.
Lin Xin closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
"Ying’er, you..."
Clang!
In an instant, a streak of white light like a whip suddenly lit up, and the sword in An Ying’s hand shot out as a beam of white light, thrusting viciously towards Xiao Lingling’s face.
To his surprise, Xiao Lingling did not dodge or avoid it, just standing there as the white light stabbed at her.
"Ying’er!"
Lin Xin was shocked and reached out to grasp the white light.
Just as he was about to catch the white light, he was horrified to see An Ying with tears on her face, her other hand holding a dagger plunging toward his chest.
She was forcing him!
Either save her or save Xiao Lingling!
Lin Xin’s mind went blank for a moment. If he caught the white light, he would be too late to save An Ying. If he grabbed An Ying, he could only watch Xiao Lingling be killed.
Without time to think any further, he exploded with white light in his hand.
Boom!
The three were simultaneously pushed apart and retreated.
Lin Xin protected Xiao Lingling while the dagger in An Ying’s hand dropped to the ground from the impact of the Luminous Talisman Stone.
But her expression remained unchanged, the longsword flew back into her hand, and with a flick of her wrist, she threw a red talisman. The talisman hung in mid-air, like a small gate, from which a blood-red beam of sword light shot out.
Swoosh!
The blood-colored sword light flew straight toward Xiao Lingling.
Just as Lin Xin was about to act, the man in yellow could not sit still any longer and leaped into the fray.
"Junior Brother, I’ve got this. Take care of the sister!" he called out.
Then, he suddenly drew his sword and precisely tapped the blood-red sword light. Both the white sword qi and the sword light dissipated at the same time.
Lin Xin guarded Xiao Lingling, watching An Ying engaging in fierce combat with the man in yellow, who knew her relationship with Lin Xin and was therefore hesitant to injure her, could only parry and delay.
After several exchanges, with a muffled thud, An Ying released a black talisman, exploding with a circle of black light, momentarily blocking the man in yellow. She then leaped high up and charged towards Xiao Lingling, wielding her sword.
Xiao Lingling merely calmly watched Lin Xin as if she couldn’t see the longsword stabbing towards her at all.
"Enough!" Lin Xin finally couldn’t suppress his emotions, "You both need to stop!"
He reached out to grab, and the Red Flower Sword flew out from Kong Yuhui’s hand on the side, landing perfectly in his own.
Clang!
The Red Flower Sword steadily blocked An Ying’s blade.
An Ying suddenly laughed, "Senior Brother, you can’t stop me..."
Suddenly, her face turned red, and blood slowly seeped from her eyes, nose, and mouth.
Boom!
In the midst of their clashing swords, Lin Xin suddenly felt a great force from the opponent, strong enough to press down and fling away his own strength.
An Ying was certainly using some short-term explosive secret technique!
In his anxiety, Lin Xin’s inner qi burst out with full force, reaching towards An Ying’s shoulder. He had made up his mind and was set on capturing both women!
Boom!
Unexpectedly, An Ying, facing his capture, also used her full-strength secret technique, and as her inner qi surged, an explosion like a muffled thunderclap erupted between them.
An Ying spat out a mouthful of fresh blood, thrown backward. That was clearly an internal injury caused by forcibly urging the secret technique at the cost of damaging herself!
"Attack now!"
Just then, several dark shadows suddenly leaped out from among the surrounding guests. Each shadow held a curved short sword and pounced toward An Ying, who was still in mid-air, from all directions.
"People from the Void Sword Cave!?" Kong Yuhui, Lu Qianqiu, and others also drew their swords at once, rushing to her rescue, but it was a step too late.
One could only see the dark shadows slam into An Ying in the air.
Lin Xin was extremely anxious, plunging towards An Ying, while the man in yellow also sprang up to help.
Halfway through his plunge, he saw a dark shadow stabbing at Xiao Lingling. The attacker clearly wanted to force him to turn back and abandon An Ying.
He hastily turned back with a sword strike, unleashing the Flameless Swordsmanship’s Three Suns Sword explosion; several flows of inner qi shot out, hitting the dark shadow and blasting it away, before being surrounded and cut down by Kong Yuhui and others.
Shhh.
Amid the tearing of fabric, the moment his turn-back sword strike delayed him, he looked back to see An Ying shedding a stream of blood, rolling towards the manor’s exit, followed by several men in black.
Meanwhile, the man in yellow had already slashed out several streaks of white sword qi, piercing the throats of two opponents. Those at the scene skilled in martial arts were joining the fray, lending their help.
"Yuhui! Protect Lingling!" he shouted, stepping lightly, vaulting into the air, and pursuing An Ying.
Chaos reigned in the manor below.
Xiao Lingling, shielded by others, could only stare dazedly through the crowd at Lin Xin’s retreating figure, tears streaming slowly down her cheeks.
****************
Deep within the bamboo forest, a sea of verdant green.
A figure clad in white with touches of red tumbled through the air, lightly pushing off the side of a bamboo stalk before flipping forward and shooting ahead.
Several black-clad pursuers relentlessly chased after her.
An Ying bit her lip hard enough to draw blood, tears breaking free from her eyes in a steady stream, nearly blinding her to what lay ahead.
Inside her body, chaos reigned as her inner qi raged out of control, exacerbating injuries from the past.
With a splutter,
She spat out another mouthful of blood, her form faltering in mid-borrowed-leap, suddenly plunging from the sky.
Within the bamboo, a group of black-clothed people surrounded the middle, where a black sedan chair was quietly parked and had gone unnoticed until now.
The sedan stood in a clearing right before her, its curtains slowly drawn apart.
A deathly pale hand, void of any color, reached out.
"To have killed my brother... and yet you dare to leave the mountain so carelessly," a pale woman in black, as ashen as a corpse, sat within the sedan, looking down loftily at An Ying.
Her silver-white eyes were ringed with a clear circle of blood-red.
"Silver Cave... heh..." An Ying, clutching her longsword tightly, stared at the woman before her, breaking into an almost wooden laugh.
*******************
As Lin Xin leaped out of the manor, he saw the black-clothed figures explode one after another, releasing a copious amount of white smoke that obscured the surroundings.
The air was also filled with an acrid odor.
"Poison!"
He held his breath and ran towards the direction he remembered An Ying had gone. He had barely started to exert his Tianzong Yunqi technique when he spotted someone standing at the edge of the bamboo forest ahead.
This person, clad in green with a masked face, bore a silver blade on their back as curved as a crescent moon, looking up straight at him.
"Are you Lin Xin?" a female voice asked.
Lin Xin had no time for idle talk. Dropping lightly to the ground, he pushed off with another spin and continued shooting toward the distance.
With a hiss... suddenly, a colorless and transparent thread, unnoticed until now, wound around Lin Xin’s right leg and yanked downwards.
Lin Xin’s body was dragged into a high-speed spin towards the ground; he countered with a backhanded sword slash, severing the thread below. But his forward momentum was gone, and he had no choice but to land.
Annoyed, he flicked his sword, sending several streams of Flameless Swordsmanship qi twisting and turning toward the sides of the woman.
Clang, clang.
The woman’s right hand index finger appeared in front of her sides with teleporting speed, perfectly blocking the streams, and with each tap, she extinguished them completely.
"The Red Manor has put a price on your life..." she said, removing the Moon Blade from her back.
"With just you!" Lin Xin said coldly.
"Of course."
Whoosh!
No sooner had she spoken, Lin Xin leaped back, as if intending to return to the manor.
In an instant, several black-clothed individuals leaped up from behind, cutting off Lin Xin’s retreat.
Unexpectedly, Lin Xin did not withdraw but advanced, kicking off the manor’s surrounding wall and with a heavy thud, he dashed towards another direction in the bamboo forest.
"Thinking of running!" The green-clad woman leaped up, following close behind him with astonishing speed.
The forest before him seemed to retreat rapidly, and as Lin Xin cast a glance back, he saw the woman gaining on him, closing in swiftly.
He snorted coldly, pushing his qinggong to its limit. Looking ahead, he could make out a group of black-clothed figures attacking An Ying, with an exquisite black sedan nearby.
Landing lightly behind the sedan.
"Ying’er!"
An Ying, deaf to his call, forced back two black-clothed attackers with a single thrust of her sword, then turned against several others.
"Stop this foolishness and come back with me." Lin Xin walked up close to the sedan, his Red Flower Sword slowly touching the ground.
An Ying turned to look at him, her eyes hollow, but with a trace of a vacant smile that sent a chill through him.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk... So this is your little lover?" The woman from the sedan emerged, appraising Lin Xin from behind. "He doesn’t seem like just a pretty face."
With a wave of her hand, the black-clothed people around her suddenly ceased their movements, and the forest seemed to dim all at once, with points of greyish-green luminescence twinkling here and there.
All the greyish-green glows enveloped Lin Xin and An Ying, forming a large ring and revealing a concealed large-scale formation.
By then, the woman in green had caught up with her entourage.
"Shadow Attachment Formation, to think a sect at the level of Void Sword Cave would be able to deploy this... Indeed, a worthy disciple of a great sect!" the woman in green remarked.
But Lin Xin was focused on An Ying.
"Ying’er, let’s go back, together."
"Would you kill that woman for me?" Suddenly, An Ying’s empty eyes fixed on him, carrying a hint of an enigmatic smile.
Lin Xin fell silent, and after a moment’s hesitation, he spoke with difficulty,
"Lingling... she has profound feelings and a sense of duty towards me..."
"So you want to keep both of them? Is that it?" An Ying said with a laugh.
Then abruptly, her smile ceased.
"You should go back."
"Go back? Where can he go now?" the woman in green scoffed with laughter.
Lin Xin ignored her, his gaze remaining locked on An Ying.
"So you’re really not coming back with me?"
An Ying didn’t answer, avoiding his gaze.
Lin Xin’s Red Flower Sword began to quiver slightly, and he suddenly lowered his eyelids. A subtle aura began to emanate from him.
"In that case, I’ll have to take you back by force..."
"You’ve got quite an attitude, kid!" The woman in green exchanged a glance with the woman from the Silver Cave, sensing something amiss. Almost simultaneously, they attacked from front and rear.
The silver Moon Blade and streams of white Bai Si shot toward Lin Xin. (To be continued. If you enjoy this work, please visit Qidian (qidian.com) to cast a recommendation vote or a monthly ticket. Your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users, please visit m.qidian.com to read.)
