"That’s right, go ahead and buy it." After Liu Zhen cheerfully paid the bill, he turned to Bai Yiran, "How about we check out some jewelry? I want to buy a pair of earrings for my sister."

So the two of them went into a gold shop. Bai Yiran looked at the dazzling array of gold ornaments and asked, "What do you think of these clover earrings?"

Liu Zhen glanced at the price. Six hundred-something isn’t too expensive. He nodded, "Alright, buy them."

Bai Yiran watched Liu Zhen go to pay, her eyes flickering with an uncertain expression, while her smile remained unchanged.

After Liu Zhen completed the payment and walked toward Bai Yiran, seeing her still smiling at him, he stepped forward as if to lower his head to speak to her intimately, the way couples might share secrets. Bai Yiran immediately stepped back to keep a distance, her gaze towards Liu Zhen turning icy.

"What’s wrong?" Liu Zhen was taken aback by Bai Yiran’s cold look, unsure of what had happened.

"Nothing," Bai Yiran replied calmly, unwilling to think ill of a man with such a warm smile.

Relieved by Bai Yiran’s response, Liu Zhen smiled, "Oh, since we’re done, let’s find a place to eat. My treat."

"Okay."

The two of them went to a nearby mall’s western restaurant. After they ordered food, Bai Yiran mentioned she needed to go to the restroom.

Liu Zhen glanced at the direction Bai Yiran was leaving and, after confirming she had truly left, carefully took out a packet of powder from his pocket and poured it all into Bai Yiran’s drink.

When Bai Yiran returned from the restroom and sat down, Liu Zhen looked at her drink, smiling, "Have some water, you’ve been walking with me all morning."

Bai Yiran looked at her drink and shook her head, "No, I’m not thirsty."

"Even if you’re not thirsty, try it. This place’s non-alcoholic mojito is really good," Liu Zhen’s eyes sparkled as he eagerly recommended it.

Bai Yiran’s expression turned cold suddenly, "Even if it’s good, I don’t dare drink it!"

Liu Zhen froze for half a minute, then tentatively asked, "What’s wrong? Did I do something wrong?"

Seeing Bai Yiran’s demeanor, Liu Zhen began to panic, wondering if she had discovered what he did. How could she? Was it possible?

Liu Zhen thought he acted well and without any flaws, so how did Bai Yiran detect it? Or maybe she never really trusted him at all? Or was she just probing him?

At this moment, he must remain calm. As long as he doesn’t admit it, he’s safe!

"What are you saying, Yiran? Get close to you? Do you think I deliberately approached you?"
