Among the noisy stream of customers who were looking at bouquets and arrangements, I noticed a middle-aged man who looked a little confused. He was standing at the flower rack, clearly not knowing what to choose. I decided that this would be a great opportunity to showcase my abilities as a store employee. Walking up to him, I smiled and asked:

— Good afternoon! How can I help you?

The man, who at first glance seemed like an ordinary gallant gentleman, turned around and looked at me somewhat sheepishly.

— Hello, I am... I’m looking for a bouquet for my wife’s birthday. She’s celebrating her anniversary this year, and that’s why I want to give her something special.

— We have some great options just for this occasion! What style does your wife prefer? Does she like bright colors or maybe more delicate and pastel shades?

— She loves roses, especially red ones, — the man replied, and his face relaxed a little. — But I also want to add something unusual to make this bouquet more special for her.

— Of course! Wait a minute.

Inspired, I quickly began to pick flowers. In the end, I chose several gorgeous red roses, and I also added delicate white lilies and bright yellow gerberas to create a contrast. In the process, I also explained to the man the meaning of these flowers, as each flower really symbolized something special: whether it was love, innocence or joy.

— It will be a wonderful combination, — I summed up when I finished picking the bouquet. — Red roses symbolize your love, and white lilies will add elegance, while yellow gerberas will add a joyful mood to your wife’s anniversary.

The man looked admiringly at the bouquet I had collected, and his eyes shone with joy.

— It’s just amazing! I’m sure she’ll be thrilled.

I couldn’t help but smile shyly, as this was the first time I had received a compliment for my work.

After that, I carefully wrapped the bouquet in a beautiful package, adding a greeting card to it. When the man took the bouquet, he smiled and said:

In the end, enthusiastically helping customers, I continued to spin like a squirrel for another half day, running from one corner of the store to another. When I finally had a little break, Jeremy came up to me at that moment. The guy also looked visibly tired but happy.

— Isn’t today just an incredible day? — he remarked, looking at the stream of visitors who kept coming to our store.

The guy and I, inspired by the unforeseen success of our activities, continued to work enthusiastically right up until the store closed. At that moment, I could really tell that our business was going better than ever.
