Chapter 391: Thanksgiving Day (Part II)

With a smile, Viviana got to the backyard where there was a loud commotion. With the boys outnumbering the girls, they all were rowdy there. Leonardo’s kids were a bit too enthusiastic and were jumping on the trampoline. Mirabella had joined the boys. Maybe she was influenced by the naughty boys, Mirabelle was the naughtiest one of them all.

Mirabelle asked her dad and Uncle Ardo to join them on the trampoline. She wanted to fly high. Those two obliged and joined the kids in the trampoline.

She saw her dogs sleeping under the lemon tree. The three of them had gotten old now. They’ve lived past their age. They aren’t all that healthy still but she was glad they were there. She didn’t have the heart to raise more dogs. She didn’t want to replace her dear puppies. They’ve been with her through everything.

Viviana sighed. None of them were planning on listening to her. She looked for her husband. He was the one good at making everyone listen to her. He’s the lion and she’s the fox that uses his might.

While everyone was being rowdy, her dear husband was sitting on the lawn chair with a beer and a book. She looked closely and...

Yep! He’s sleeping!

She looked for her son, Immanuel Michaels—Manny.

He turned fifteen just now. She had a very tough pregnancy with him. She couldn’t even walk to the bathroom as she was asked to be on complete bed rest. Leon was a rock for her during those times. She also had complications during the C-section. Her heart stopped once during the surgery.

But she was glad her baby was born strong. He had good lungs and cried a lot for the few days after he was born. She was too weak after the delivery and it was Leon who took care of her. She had the help of many, including Martha but Leon went above and beyond and stood by her side. She never thought that she had her mother with her to help her even in those days. He took great care of her. Even when he was tired, he never got irritated to take care of her.

He truly acted as a guardian angel! Then and now, he is her guardian angel. Her Michael!

She is falling in love with him every single day. She would think that she couldn’t love him more than she loved him the previous day, but he would say or do something that would make her fall deeper in love with him.

He became a big producer. He had a meeting the previous day and came home late. That’s why he was sleeping now. What a cute guy! She too was busy yesterday with her company but she couldn’t keep her excitement at bay as she was looking forward to cooking the Thanksgiving meal. She was already tired.

But still, she couldn’t wait to see the excited faces of everyone as they ate her cooking.

She found her son sitting in the shade of a tree with his nose touching the phone screen. He was a good kid and was good at his studies although he was not as good as Ziya. He liked playing games a lot. Since this was a holiday, Viviana had forbidden him to touch his computer and asked him to spend time with his cousins.

She sighed seeing him playing on his phone.

"Manny..." she walked to him. "Phone," she held out her hand.

He was not even looking at her.

"Manny!" she called him again. He can play games after the dinner. She wanted him to not stare at the screen for a long time.

"What?" he glared at her. She couldn’t even get angry at him. How could she when he looked exactly like his father?

Their son used to be an angel. But ever since he started undergoing puberty, he became a mini-demon. His father warned him a couple of times but that didn’t frighten the lion cub. She didn’t have that problem with Ziya. Ziya would flare up at times but she would calm down pretty much immediately and would apologize as she would feel bad.

This guy... He had a temper! She didn’t know where he got his temper from.

There was no possibility that he learned it from his father. Leon had become a family man. He rarely raises his voice even. The "Lion" who would cause terror in the hearts of his enemies and his eyes that reflected death was no more. He still dealt with his enemies himself but he used other means than a gun.

At home, he was a regular father who liked to play with his kids and sleep in the shade in his free time.

"Phone," she spoke softly. "I already told you, Manny. Go, spend time with your~"

"Shut up!" he shouted at her.

Viviana jerked back. Although she was used to his tantrums, this was unexpected.

"Give me your phone, Manny," Viviana insisted and tried to get his phone.

"Stop being a b*tch, Mom!" Immanuel pushed Viviana.

Viviana stumbled back. Just as she was bracing for a fall, she felt the familiar hand holding her.

"What did you call your mother?" Leon shouted.

Before Viviana could gather herself, he picked up Immanuel holding him by his collar. Viviana saw Leon’s eyes.

Lion—there he is!

"Say it again!" Leon punched Manny in the face.

Manny’s phone dropped on the floor and the screen cracked. But Manny couldn’t worry about that. He was rightly more worried about the man with a beastly aura standing in front of him. Was that even her father? He held his cheek which hurt like he got hit with a hammer. He tasted something metallic in his mouth. His hands started to shake.

Am I bleeding? Who is this man? This is not my dad!

Viviana tried to stand in between her husband and son but maybe Leon realized that she would interfere, so he blocked her from passing him. Even if he talked bad about her, he was her son. Her heart pounded for him.

"Leo," she tried to speak for her son.

But he didn’t even look at her.
