Chapter 372: The Movie
Chapter 372: The Movie
Viviana was closer to the side with the carpet on and they opened the door. But Leander asked her to wait. And she did.
Leander got down first and went around the car. The photographers around didn’t know who he was but as he was getting in late, they stared snapping pictures all the same.
Viviana’s heart bubbled with joy seeing all those flashes on Leander’s face as he held out his hand for her. "Let’s go, Lemon," he smiled.
Viviana held his hand and alighted from the car. She couldn’t contain her smile as she walked in with her arms hooked to Leander’s. The photographers on both sides asked her to stop for a picture. For some reason, they liked her dress. Some reporters stuck their microphone to her face and started asking her questions.
Viviana heard nothing. She was floating in joy. She wanted to come to the premiere with her husband and it happened. What she wanted happened! After suffering for the first part of her life, she was blessed with abundant joy. She was grateful.
Leander was not a big fan of those flashing lights in front of his face. He had managed to live quietly for the best part of his life. But he needed to do this. He is not Leander anymore. He is Leon Michaels.
It’s not going to be every day he will be photographed. It can’t be avoided at big parties like this. E can’t wait to see the surprise on her face when she sees his name on the screen as the producer. Also, he needs to get used to this attention because his wife is no ordinary woman. She is a renowned businesswoman and the daughter of a famous man. He will have to accompany her to support her when she needs to attend parties too.
He didn’t like the flashes and turned his attention toward the most beautiful being on earth—his wife. Seeing the joy, the slight discomfort he felt went away.
Just a year ago, his wife would have been clinging onto him as she had this attention on her, but she has grown a lot in the past year. Her confidence has reached the level of facing hundreds of photographers with their telescopic lenses and scary sounding flashes all around.
Little did he know that she was that confident because she had him by her side. This was the first time she was attending a premiere and these flashes were new to her. When she attended parties with Leonardo, he would shield her from the photographers and would take her through the back entrance since she would not feel up for it.
But this is the premiere Viviana was waiting for. This is their story! And she is walking with him holding her hand. She couldn’t wait.
As they were led inside the theater, they heard a commotion outside. The reporters were all too excited. Viviana stopped and turned to see what te commotion was about.
Wearing a glittering black dress Gabriella was walking with Lionel. Lionel was wearing a black tuxedo and they matched.
This means...
Viviana almost jumped with joy seeing the happiness on Lionel’s face. That would mean that his long awaited wish has come true. With a wide smile, she looked at Gabriella.
’Wait for me,’ Gabriella mouthed.
Gabriella looked overwhelmed with everything going around. She was someone who yearns silence and quiet. Obviously, she would be nervous in this setting.
Viviana almost walked toward Gabriella but Leander stopped her. It was then she noticed Lionel holding Gabriella’s hand and with a wave of his hand, he ended the photoshoot. The reporters didn’t stop taking pictures and Lionel covered Gabriella and walked inside. Lionel’s assistants covered him and shielded them from the invasive flashes.
Gabriella looked at Lionel with shame apparent in her eyes. "I’m sorry," she told him.
"Your hands are cold," Lionel held her hands together and blew in them. "They are shaking..." Lionel looked at Gabriella.
"I fear what they would write about me in tomorrow’s papers..." Gabriella said softly.
Viviana walked to her. "Is this about your past again, Gabby?" she asked.
Gabriella bowed her head. "I shouldn’t have..." she bowed her head and started hyperventilating.
The staff brought some water and a paper bag for Gabriella to breathe into. Viviana patted off the perspiration on Gabriella’s face as she breathed into the paper bag.
"Brie, do you not trust me?" Lionel asked gently caressing her head.
"He is right, Gabby. He can handle it. He is Lionel Waldorf," Viviana added. "If it becomes uncontrollable by some chance, you still have me. You still have Leander. We all support you."
Gabriella’s face cleared up a bit. She nodded and Viviana and Viviana walked to Leander. It appeared that Lionel wanted to say something to her.
Leander was looking at Lionel. "Still not happy about their relationship?" Viviana asked.
Leander held her hand. "I don’t know...He looks happy, doesn’t he?"
Viviana looked at Lionel and he was smiling from his heart. Gabriella was looking at him with stars in her eyes. They looked good together.
The premiere of the movie started and Viviana kept her eyes on the screen.
Little Angels Productions was the name of the production company. Viviana looked at the logo closely and her eyes widened. It was two angels, one with a sword and another with a flaming sword. She looked at Leander.
"Is that..." she pointed at the screen. The logo had faded but the mirth in her face hadn’t.
Leander held her hand and nodded.
Viviana grinned.
Wow! My husband is a Hollywood producer! Wow!
Leander saw the smile on her face. He let out a deep breath. He was content. All the struggles he went through for more than a year were worth it. Everything’s worth the smile on her face.
She indeed is happy that his occupation changed.
Viviana watched the movie closely.
In loving memory of Leander Kastello.
When she saw that on the screen, her heart skipped a beat. Why did Lionel put it there? But then she realized it must have been Leander who asked him to add that.
The frame changed but Viviana bowed her head as her phone vibrated. She had forgotten to put her phone on silence mode. She took her phone out.
Leander pressed his lips as he saw the next frame.
In loving memory of Victoria Viceroy.
Ah, she missed it!
He thought he would reveal the fact that he was Leona Viceroy to her this way but that chance got ruined.
It’s fine. There will be another chance.
Viviana saw the notification and it was a text from Angelina. She wanted to take a peek, but she didn’t want to get distracted from the movie. She put her phone on silence and looked at the screen.
She had read the script so nothing was of a surprise to her. But the cinematography was so mesmerizing. She recognized a lot of places in the movie because it was shot in Abenney.
The movie starts with a man and woman standing at the edge of a cliff. Lionel had changed their story slightly to suit the big screen. Instead of the rooftop, in the story, the main characters meet on a more dramatic cliff.
The sea was clashing at the bottom. The female lead had killed the brother of the male lead in the movie. Just as she is about to jump into the sea, the male lead joins her and saves her.
Lionel had arranged the script so well. From the "Fatal Encounter" that explained the title of the movie, the story moved in a fast pace. Their childhood stories were brought up as flashbacks and dreams. The beauty of Abenney shone brightly in their innocent childhood story. They were not married in the movie. The male lead just kept her in his house.
Also, there was no "Leander Kastello" character in the movie. There was only Melanie and Leona characters. Viviana found that to be hilarious. She didn’t understand how Leander agreed to fund such an egregious story about him though. He didn’t mind that he was portrayed as someone who grew up wearing skirts.
Whatever!
Only in the middle of the movie did Lionel revealed the secrets about the fire. Although it was just a five-minute scene in the movie, Lionel had made sure that it was pulling the heartstrings with reality. Having lived through the fire, Viviana’s stomach churned as it brought out the trauma.
Leander rubbed her back. Gabriella held her hand.
"I’m fine," Viviana whispered. She took a look behind and she saw many of the viewers with tears in their eyes.
With just a quarter of the movie left it was revealed that the childhood friend was the male lead. In the movie, it is the female lead who finds out the truth first. But she still couldn’t accept him as he had killed her adoptive parents. But then there was an explosion in their house with the male lead trapped in and the female lead risked her life to save him thus realizing her love.
Viviana was not that affected by the explosion scene.
Those last fifteen minutes of the movie were tearjerking. Lionel knew how to pull the heartstrings of the readers. Then came the beautiful confession, and the movie ended with the leads getting married in the same church they grew up in.
It was an amazing movie and judging by everyone else’s reaction, she knew it would become a blockbuster.
