Chapter 208: Into The Room
Leander brought Viviana to the topmost floor of the club. It was not as crowded as Viviana imagined it would be. But she has heard that this club is very hard to get into because it gets filled easily.
Maybe Leander sensed her doubts, he explained. "There are spaces that can be rented for private parties."
"Oh?" Viviana nodded.
Just as they stepped into the hallway, Viviana saw a bunch of girls walking up the stairs. There were bouncers standing by the stairs.
Only beautiful girls were allowed to get on this floor. The one girl who was slightly thick who was asked to go back caused a scene. She offered money, but the bouncers pushed her back. She almost tripped on the stairs.
"Hey, handsome!"
One girl among the bunch of girls walked toward Leander.
Oh, look at that! Viviana thought. He must be usual here.
"Want some company?"
"That’s a nice brooch you’re wearing... What? You’re royalty?" one giggled.
Within a few seconds, they were surrounded by beautiful and bubbly young girls who looked barely twenty. They all wore dresses that barely covered their bums and breasts. None of them appeared to be wearing bras. Well, they were young and there was no need to.
Although they all were scantily clad, they fit in their clothes and didn’t look vulgar. Those kids looked like they knew what they wanted and were willing to do everything to get it. They looked free and worriless.
Viviana felt old in their presence.
She was holding Leander’s arms and he moved his arms. His hands reached for his waist and Viviana knew that he was reaching for his gun.
Is he going to threaten these poor kids with a gun? Is this necessary?
"These poor kids just want to have fun..." she said holding his hand.
"Kids?"
All the girls broke into laughter whispering among themselves.
"We are adults," one of the girls said. And she looked at Viviana from head to toe.
Those girls didn’t mind Viviana. It was obvious that they intended to impress Leander. But Viviana was surprised by their insolence to try and seduce a man in front of his wife. Maybe it is normal around here.
Kids these days are very brazen...Wow!
"Oh, really?" Viviana chuckled with amusement. "You don’t act like adults."
"Really?" the tallest one among the girls stepped forward. She probably was around six feet tall and with her pointed heels, she stood almost the same height as Leander.
"Maybe we are kids..." the girl laughed. "Teach us good ways, daddy," she leaned to Leander with a sly smirk.
"Daddy..."
"Daddy..."
The other girls joined in and tried to touch Leander. Viviana body-blocked them by standing in between Leander and them. She was intrigued by this group of girls but no one can touch Leander.
It’s for their own good...and she didn’t like other girls touching her husband.
Leander pressed his lips seeing his little wife "protecting" him. He got his gun. "All right, move!"
Viviana winced hearing his powerful voice above her head. The girls widened their eyes for a moment, but they overcame their fear very easily.
"Daddy..." they all leaned forward and jumped to let him see their jiggly bits.
Viviana was shocked. Is this the reaction kids give to a gun? What has the world come to?
As she was astonished, Leander pulled her back. He pressed her head to his chest while covering her ear with his hand.
*Bang*
His gun went off. Viviana’s heart sank to her abdomen. It was loud. Very loud and her ears felt stuffed. She didn’t even bother to look behind to see if those stupid kids got hurt. They were all screeching and checking of anyone had gotten hurt.
One of them was giggling. "I did not expect him to shoot..." she laughed as she found it funny.
What the eff!
One of them was whimpering, she could hear. But she felt no pity.
Who asked them to mess with the lion? They deserve it. And she could infer that no one was hurt and it was just a warning shot. So, that calmed her.
"Ah, Leander Kastello, my man!"
Leander’s hold loosened as the flamboyant voice echoed in the hallway. Viviana turned to the origin of the voice. Leander let out an audible sigh. She figured out that he does not like that guy.
"He’s the owner of the nightclub," Leander placed his hand on the small of her back.
Viviana nodded.
The girls all looked panic-stricken only after hearing his name.
"Leander Kastello?" the tall one mumbled. "Why did no one tell me who he was!" she grunted.
The others shrugged.
One had tears in her eyes. "We should have known with the brooch..."
"But he always wears black," the other one muttered with tears hanging by the rims of her eyes.
Wow! Now you get scared!
Viviana leaned on Leander’s arms. She felt comfortable leaning on him. He didn’t push her away. So, she decided that he didn’t mind
"Yo! Get the f*ck out!" that guy shouted at the murmuring girls. "Eric!" he called and one of the bouncers came running. "What are you allowing these girls to mess with my man Leander? Shoo! Get them out! You girls are banned from this establishment. Shoo away!"
The girls were not happy to hear that they were banned. They tried to plead with the owner but he shooed them away like they are pests.
Viviana thought that the owner was just brown-nosed in front of Leander. But she saw the bouncer taking the pictures of those girls and adding them to some database in their tabs.
Wow! They take "crimes" against Leander so seriously here...
"Where is your boss?" Leander asked the "owner".
Viviana was confused. If he was the owner, why does he have a boss?
Ah, of course... he must be the proxy owner.
"He’s not here yet," the owner said with his head bowed. "He surely will attend your birthday party."
Leander walked away not minding the owner. He did not look impressed.
"Don Waldorf’s consigliere is the real owner," he said. He then raised his brow. "You didn’t know that?" he asked. He was surprised.
"No, I didn’t research much about the Waldorf family," she shrugged. "And... you probably should have worn your uniform... All black." She winked.
She inferred that he is not a very frequent visitor here. Otherwise, those kids would have known his face.
Good! Her mood improved.
Leander smiled. He too was surprised that he was known to everyone as the guy who wears all black. He never thought it would become his defining quality. That was not his intention. He wore all black because it was easy.
Leander entered the private hall. Viviana immediately squinted her eyes at the blinking lights and the loud music. There were a lot of people crammed in that space, most of them scantily clad women. There were some guys too and they all were dancing with the girls with a bottle in their hands.
Great!
She wanted to turn back and leave.
"There are soundproof rooms on that side," he led her there.
Entering there, Viviana was more annoyed. That room was quiet, but she preferred to play dodgeball with piranhas than be in that room.
"Leander!"
Nadia walked to Leander with exaggerated enthusiasm.
"Happy birthday!"
Viviana rolled her eyes and glanced over at the other people in the room.
Seriously?
Viviana wanted to sigh seeing Nicholai Palatini and Helena in the room. They were sitting in the far end of the couch. Nicholai was whispering something to Helena and her expression was not so great.
Viviana didn’t mind seeing Helena. What she minded was to see her with her husband. That guy does not deserve a wife. Viviana clutched her hands out of anger. She almost walked to Nicholai to tell him to treat his wife better.
But she knew it won’t go well.
"Mi-ner-va..."
Viviana turned to the scornful voice of Nadia. She got annoyed by the conceited look of the high school kid.
"I see you managed to get a good wig," Viviana forced her lips to a smile. "It looks natural."
"I...you..." Nadia was poked in her nerve and she searched for a clever comeback, but she couldn’t find the right comeback and ended up a stuttering mess.
Leander scoffed and kissed Viviana’s head. Seeing that, Nadia’s face got redder. Viviana was surprised he was taking her side openly.
’You are my wife’.
She remembered his words. And he is keeping his word. She was happy.
"There now, don’t be too harsh on my girlfriend," Evander stood behind Nadia and she leaned on his chest with a bright smile.
Viviana’s stomach churned. Leander didn’t even look at Evander. Maybe he was feeling the same as she did.
"Happy birthday, brother!" Evander came for a hug.
Leander waved his hand and patted Evander’s chest. Viviana looked into Leander’s eyes. There wasn’t an ounce of love in his eyes.
Why did he come here even?
Viviana got more curious.
Nicholai Palatini stood up and walked to Leander. Helena was sitting on her seat and he pulled her up holding her arm. Viviana clenched her jaws seeing that Helena was unwilling to go with him.
Evander noticed Helena getting dragged and his lips curved to a smirk. Leander held Viviana’s hand to lead her to the empty seat. But he let out a sigh sensing that she was rooted on the spot.
Why does she care about someone else’s wife? This is so unnecessary!
