Chapter 181: Letting Her Know

Chapter 181: Letting Her Know

Viviana wouldn’t know what the love of a man for a woman would be like. She had no experience. But the way he acts made her believe that this probably is love.

Leander smiled looking at her. She’s reverted back to calling him Kastello. But he did not care. She is right. He is in love with her. And he did not feel pathetic at all.

She is who she is. Her past was the burning fuel for the passion and guided her to the edge of the ledge that day, soaked in his brother’s blood. And his loyalty to his family guided him to that terrace to be the dangerous avenger for the sake of his family.

But they are not the same now. Not even a little.

Something got between them. Something stopped him from hurting her and he even went as far as to save her. He had a feeling that it was not something simple.

He doesn’t know a lot still. But he knew a little.

She wouldn’t have told him that day that she trusted him. And he wouldn’t have been able to say that he loves her.

But this is where they are now.

The intense feeling he has towards her... it’s not some obsession or possessiveness. It’s not just mere protective instinct either. She never asked him to protect her. All she asks is to kill her.

What he feels for her is more profound than all those deep emotions. It’s deeper than all that. It’s...

It is love. The love a man has for a woman. Something that poets and writers wrote about. Something unstoppable, and something uncontrollable.

He still doesn’t know how to deal with it. Usually, being in love ends up in getting married to that person. But he is already married to her.

But he couldn’t settle. He wanted something more. Even he doesn’t know what that is.

He needs to figure out a lot.

And he will figure it out. With her.

Yeah, she’s going to struggle to accept it all. He knows. But he is not going to let her get her way. He’s going to drag her to his side. He is not going to give up.

They are meant to be. They are fated.

Yeah...

Viviana saw his eyes. She knew the answer. She felt it in her heart. Her heart was pounding already and she didn’t know what to do when he opened his mouth.

She pressed her hands over his mouth. He cannot say it aloud. He cannot.

Then she will have to answer him.

"Let’s forget what we talked about this morning," she said. That way they cannot lose what they have right now. She’s happy with him. Why does he have to ruin it by bring up something serious?

"Seriously, Kastello! You can do better! Do better. I’m not the one for you."

She then let go of his mouth and covered her ears with her hands. Loudly singing a tune that popped into her confused head, she ran out of the room.

Leander sat on the floor with his hand running through his hair. He chuckled. "This went as I thought it would go... What a cute wife..."

She can deny hearing what she heard all she wants. But she heard it. And she knows what he feels. Honestly, he didn’t think it was that much of a surprise for her.

And he believed that she loves him too. She’s too careless around him for someone who hates him. And she is acting very much like a wife. She won’t do that without an ounce of love in her heart for him.

She’s going to deny it. Just like he did for days. And then she’ll come around. Where else will she go? She will have to return to him.

She is his, just like he is hers.

Do better? Where is he going to find someone better? He knew she will surprise him in the future. He was eagerly waiting to see more of her.

His laugh was interrupted by the vibration of his phone. With a smile lingering on his face, he looked at his phone. The smile on his face froze seeing the name blinking on his screen.

He answered the call. As he ended the call, he smirked.

So, it begins.

When he went downstairs, she was not anywhere inside the house. He could see her pretty head far in the garden.

Hide all you want, honey...

He went back inside the house and knocked on Brie’s door. Brie peeked from behind the door. "Entertain my wife if she wants to get drunk. But only wine," he said and walked out.

Brie scratched the back of her head as she didn’t understand what that was about. He told her last night that she cannot talk to his wife and now he wants her to drink with his wife. What is this about?

Leander walked out with a smile. He didn’t think he’ll get to eat her cooking this afternoon. But it’s fine.

-----

Viviana stayed out until she heard his car leave. Why did he do that? Everything was fine between them, and he had to do that to make it all the more confusing.

He can love her all he wants to. But that is not going to change anything!

She played with Juno for a while, but she couldn’t even concentrate on it.

This is the first time someone confessed to her that he loves her. Well, technically he didn’t confess, but still...

She fell flat on her back on the dirt ground. She could see patches of sky in between the rustling branches and leaves. It was a sunny day, and the sky was so blue.

She giggled.

I was confessed to! The lion confessed to me!

She looked at her trembling hands and buried her face in them.

And I don’t deserve it! I don’t deserve his love.

She went to the wine cellar and picked some bottles and stuffed them everywhere she can and went and knocked on Brie’s door.

"Gabby! Gabby!" she leaned on Gabriella the moment she opened the door. "I missed you so much!"
