Chapter 428: Unexpected Meeting

After taking the tablet, Clyde held it in one hand, his eyes scanning the object as a semi-transparent interface appeared before him. The glowing letters rearranged themselves into readable data.

[Codex Tablet: Domain Nexus]

[Rank: SSS.]

[Description: A singular convergence tablet containing the spatial coordinates, access keys, and dimensional harmonics for all known realms and sub-realms—including Demon, Celestial, Angelic, and Forbidden Territories.

Access restricted to entities with command rights or clearance from realm administrators.]

Clyde gave a slow nod of approval. "SSS Rank... figures."

He turned his gaze toward Morvius. "I’m taking this."

Morvius didn’t respond.

Clyde narrowed his eyes slightly but didn’t press further. Instead, he stepped forward and said in his calm and absolute voice.

"This mission is complete. But know this, Morvius. You won’t speak of what happened here tp the higher beings."

A silence stretched between them after that word.

Morvius said nothing. His jaw clenched. He glared at Clyde, then shifted his gaze toward Asqa.

His eyes burned with hatred. Its not just the fury of an enemy but also the wounded pride of someone forced to kneel.

Still, he didn’t object and didn’t scream or challenge him anymore.

Clyde didn’t bother with a final threat.

He simply turned and began walking toward the exit, Asqa following a step behind.

Morvius trailed them after a moment, letting out a long, trembling sigh.

With each step through the corridor, a weight pressed tighter against his chest. Its not fear, but the humiliation that came from being powerless. This is definitely the first time for him.

He had once viewed himself as a superior beings and guardian of the information all across the realm. He was a leader within the Bureau so he also have high status within the higher realms.

But now, he had yielded to a former human who had no rank and title in the high hierarchies.

Yet, the truth is undeniable.

That... thing... was no longer human. And Morvius had obeyed him.

The realization twisted something inside him. It burned his heart.

So as he walked, thoughts churned beneath the calm he projected.

He would find the origin of Clyde’s power with the remnants of the information he possessed.

He would search deeper into places even the Bureau feared to peer.

Because if Clyde could rise from nothing to command armies of Demons and rip knowledge from the hands of masters, then perhaps Morvius could do the same.

If he could find the root of Clyde’s strength, he could seize it for himself.

And when that day came... he would no longer have to look away.

"When the chance come, I will make him pay."

Clyde walked out of the building, his boots crunching softly against shattered stone and broken glass. The weight of the world felt lighter now that the Codex Tablet was in his possession.

He didn’t glance back.

Asqa remained silent, matching his stride.

Without breaking pace, Clyde reached out with his mind. The connection shimmered to life with a feeling of heat then a telepathic comms was connected.

"Asmodeus. You can pull your army back now."

The reply came at once. Asmodeus seems amused.

"Haha. Seems like you got what you want. I Got it."

Elsewhere—behind the lines of the gathered Demon army—a change rippled through the atmosphere.

The sky cracked with red lightning as a portal tore open.

One by one, the Demons who looks like still drenched in bloodlust, start to stir. The air trembled from their guttural growls. Something greater than hunger called them.

They turned and they obeyed their master.

With snarls and roars that echoed like drums of war, they marched backward into the portal. The hulking forms vanished into the portal.

Then came the soft hum of dissipating energy.

The portal sealed with a sharp clap of displaced air.

What remained was the devastation they’d left behind: broken walls, burning towers, and twisted metal.

The soldiers who still holding the line stood frozen. Their hearts still thundering.

Then, almost as if choreographed by fate, they exhaled as one.

A long, collective sigh of relief passed through the line.

No cheering or victory cries.

Just the ragged breath of men and women who realized they’d been spared from a bloodbath.

---

Clyde raised his hand. A pulse of deep violet energy shimmered around then lines of light appeared, twisting into a whirling tear in space. A portal appeared in front of them and Asqa.

Without a word, he stepped into it. Asqa followed.

They vanished within a breath, leaving only swirling dust and the fading hum of power behind. The portal closed behind them with a silent ripple.

Morvius stood alone now.

He stared at the place where Clyde had disappeared, his face blank, but his eyes looks like a storm of boiling fury.

Then, with a growl, he turned and drove his fist into the wall beside him.

The white stone shattered, collapsing with a crash. Dust exploded and chunks of rubble bounced across the corridor floor.

Still, his anger did not abate.

He lowered his fist, fingers trembling slightly, his breath sharp.

"...No. Not now," he muttered, exhaling slowly.

He pressed both hands against the remains of the wall, calming his thoughts. The pain in his knuckles helped center him.

"No need to rush. Let him think he’s in control for now. I’ll play by his rules."

He turned and walked back inside the building with deliberate steps. Each stride carried a new weight of his determination.

Within the heart of the facility, he go to his personal office. The door hissed open with a complex harmonic code.

He approached his desk. A single drawer opened at his command, revealing a hidden compartment.

Within it lay the second tablet.

This is a perfect imitation of the tablet containing Clyde’s information. He had created it in advance for situation like this.

Morvius lifted the copy carefully. It glowed faintly in his hand.

"No one can know I have this," he whispered. "He’ll notice if I share it to the higher beings."

He turned the tablet over in his palm. Complex layers of encrypted information shimmered across its surface.

Clyde’s rise to power... it was no accident.

"I’ll study this myself," Morvius said, placing the tablet onto a scanning pedestal. "Piece by piece. Line by line."

His eyes narrowed. Paranoia etched itself across his features.

"I can’t even trust my subordinates until I know who among them betrayed the Bureau."

He sat back, the chamber sealing around him with a deep thrum of energy.

Morvius didn’t planning on remain beneath Clyde’s shadow for long.

---

The higher realms still the same since all of this started. The corruption that had crept in shadowed everything. Every cure, cleansing ritual, or divine purge had succeeded.

And so they caged their followers.

God Zeus stood atop the storm-clad spires of Olympus.

He watched from this high place as more of his elite soldiers lay within a great containment ring. Arcs of gold and violet lightning danced around the circle keeping the corrupted locked in place.

Their eyes glowed with black light, their mouths twisted in silent screams. Some clawed at the barriers. Others just stared into space with blank expressions.

Zeus clenched his fist. But even his anher couldn’t cover the grief in his eyes.

A portal shimmered open beside Zeus, crackling with faint golden energy. From within stepped Hermes, his usual playful demeanor replaced by an expression of sharp concern.

Dust and residual magic clung to his boots, he had clearly returned from another long journey between realms.

"Zeus," Hermes said quickly, "I just finished delivering the alliance message to the other realm when I received an urgent call directly from Demon King Bael."

Zeus turned sharply, eyes narrowing.

"Demon king Bael?" he echoed, disbelief woven into his thunderous voice. Zeua mostly avoids contact with the Demon king because they are unpredictable ans moatky violent. But now he have no choice.

Hermes gave a tight nod. "That’s why I came straight here. Something’s changed about them. Its looks like they also considering the allience after all thats happening.

Zeus looked back at the sealed soldiers, the corrupted kin trapped in a circle of sacred lightning and clenched his fists.

The corruption continued to spread like an incurable plague across their kind.

If Bael sought an audience now of all times then their situation must not be good either. They also desperate.

With a grim expression, Zeus said, "Then I’ll meet him. Tell Demon King Bael I accept his request."

Hermes nodded once, then without another word, turned and vanished in a streak of golden wind to carry the message back through the realms.

Zeus remained still, thunder rumbling softly above his sky, his gaze fixed on the storm brewing beyond the heavens.

---

A few hours later, the skies above Olympus darkened as a jagged tear in reality opened.

From it emerged Demon King Bael himself. He came alone, no soldiers at his side.

Zeus stood waiting in the open garden, framed by marble columns and swirling clouds. His expression was stern, wary, yet composed.

As Bael approached, the ground beneath him smoldered faintly, each step heavy with power.

Neither spoke at first. They simply stared at each other.

The higher beings from opposite realm were meeting without war.
