Chapter 418: Decision To Join
Sonya listened to Clyde’s words with a frown, her eyes filled with worry. In truth, her mind already agreed with Clyde’s goal. But still, going against the higher beings made her a little uneasy.
Asqa noticed her expression and understood her doubt. She sighed—because she knew exactly what Sonya was feeling. She had felt the same way at first, intimidated by the immense power they were up against. But after watching Clyde fight, she had gained confidence.
"You don’t have to decide now. We’re not in a hurry, right, Clyde?" Asqa looked at Clyde with hopeful eyes, hoping he’d say something reassuring.
Sonya watched as Clyde nodded with his usual calm expression.
"Yeah. We’re not rushing. If you keep everything secret and just go about your usual activities, things will be fine—as long as you don’t get too involved with the higher beings’ efforts to stop us."
"Will you guys be alright?" Sonya asked, clearly worried about her friends. She had seen how they fought and knew they were strong. But if all the higher beings united... that would be a different story.
Clyde and Asqa smiled. Asqa even took her hand.
"Don’t worry about us. We’ve prepared for this," Asqa said—though deep down, a sliver of doubt lingered in her. Not in Clyde, but in herself. Her own strength.
Silence filled the room for a few seconds. Sonya sank into her thoughts while Clyde and Asqa waited patiently, not interrupting her.
"I... I’m not sure I can be as strong as you two. But I want to help. For now, I think the best I can do is play my part as a spy inside Hermes’s domain," Sonya finally said.
Her answer made Asqa breathe a sigh of relief. She hugged her once more and said,
"I knew you’d join us. Don’t worry—what you’re doing is more than enough."
Looking at her now—smiling, her face filled with mature charm—Sonya smiled back.
"I’ll do my best."
Clyde nodded.
"We appreciate your help. For now, we can stay connected through the link. It won’t be detected as long as you use it just to talk with me."
"I understand." Sonya nodded.
After that, she decided to return to her room. She was worried that if she stayed too long, she might miss it if someone knocked on her door. At a time like this, with Hermes and the other higher beings on high alert, she was sure there would be plenty of guard duties he’d assign.
The portal opened. Sonya glanced back at Clyde and Asqa before stepping through. She disappeared as the portal closed behind her.
"I hope she’ll be okay. Are you sure the power won’t be detected by Hermes?" Asqa asked Clyde, her tone full of concern.
"Hopefully not. Hermes himself has already been influenced by the Ancient One, but he’s still resisting since he’s a higher being. His magical senses are going to be distorted," Clyde replied.
Hearing that, Asqa let out a relieved breath.
"I’ll go rest for now. I’ll train again later." With that, Asqa left Clyde’s room and headed to her own.
Clyde sat back down on his bed, thinking that everything was going to be alright. After all, he now had a link to Sonya. If she needed help, he could get to her quickly.

Deep within the shadow-choked heart of the Hell Realm, where rivers of molten fire carved through obsidian canyons and the air thrummed with raw infernal power, a rare gathering took place.
In the Grand Chamber of Wrath, a colossal hall carved into the bones of an ancient, long-dead leviathan monster, five Demon Kings stood beneath a vaulted ceiling draped in perpetual darkness.
Their presence alone distorted the air, the walls groaning under the sheer pressure of their auras.
Word had spread like wildfire through the higher realms. Whispers turned into roars, and now, even in Hell, the storm of unease could not be ignored.
A creature, who not born of the Hell, Eden, nor Celestial, had attacked during a congregation of the Archangels and Celestials.
An act that was so brazen and so disruptive, it had shaken the unshakable foundation of higher being’s power. And if they could be attack so suddenly, so could they.
But these Demon Kings did not show fear.
Their anxiety was masked by fury. Rage poured from them like smoke from a dying sun, aggressive and thick, a veil for the unease coiling in their chests.
None dared admit it aloud but the presence of the unknown creature rattled them.
Only five had come and its already an uncommon sight.
At the head stood Asmodeus. Beside him was Belial, golden rings floating around him like fallen halos.
The others were no less imposing.
Paimon, clad in crimson and gold. Bael, the oldest among them, he has three heads that looks like man, toad, and cat.
And Agares who sit while emanating a warlike grace, his hands gripping the hilt of a sword.
The chamber crackled with tension. None spoke at first. They all knew that something ancient had stirred.
And for the first time in eons, the Kings of Hell had been forced to gather not to plot for war agaisnt the other realms but to wonder if they were also a prey now and need to prepare themselves.
Asmodeus stood among his fellow Demon Kings. Deep within his chest, a hidden spark flickered quietly, invisible to the others.
He played his role well, masking the threads of manipulation that now bound him. Observing the others, he wondered what they truly felt. Fear? Rage? Pride wounded by the sight of beings like Gabriel and Hades being pushed to their limits? He couldn’t be sure, but he could feel the storm brewing behind their carefully maintained facades.
It was Bael who broke the silence.
"I despise saying this... but perhaps Hermes was right. We may need to unite our strength—truly unite it."
The words carried weight, and a bitter taste. Unity was not the way of Demons.
Belial’s eyes flared, twin infernos of indignation. "You mean with the Angels as well?" His tone was sharp, incredulous. "You want us to stand beside those self-righteous parasites?"
"Yes," Bael replied without hesitation. "You’ve all seen the recording. That creature stood toe-to-toe with Gabriel and Hades. It didn’t flinch. If it comes for us next it will be bad."
Belial scoffed, his clawed hand flexing as if ready to crush the very air around him. A string of curses danced at the tip of his tongue, but he bit them back.
He, too, had seen the footage. The monster’s eyes. Its unnatural movements. The sheer pressure. It had stirred something inside him he hadn’t felt in millennia.
Agares leaned forward, tapping a clawed finger against the obsidian table.
"Why don’t we just confront him directly? If we the five of us attack together there’s no way that man could win. He’s strong but not invincible."
Paimon turned his head slowly. "And how do you know that?" he asked. "What makes you so sure it isn’t strong enough to kill even us?"
The question lingered like smoke. Agares opened his mouth, but nothing came.
Silence fell once more, heavier than before.
