Chapter 396: Combined
Chapter 396: Combined
Clyde stood in silence, his Elderglass blade still humming faintly from the power it had unleashed. The battered warrior lay before him, trembling but alive but stripped of his silver armor.
Clyde could’ve ended him with a swipe of his hand but he didn’t.
He turned his gaze to the horizon.
Far off, a faint explosion of lights marked the end of Asqa’s battle. He saw the silver-armored enemy spiraling downwards, smoke trailing from his burnt wings.
Asqa was already diving after him with her wand drawn and ready to finish the job.
Clyde raised a hand, his voice carried across their mind. "Leave him."
Asqa slowed her descent, floating mid-air as she glanced back. "He’s still breathing."
"I know," Clyde replied. "But they’re not the enemy. Not really. Just followers. Mortals like we used to be. This war isn’t their choice."
She hovered in silence for a moment, then gave a short nod and said, "Alright."
Clyde’s eyes moved back to the armor lying in the dirt beside the downed warrior. "Take his armor. We’ll need it."
Few seconds later, Asqa come to him and floated near him, raising an eyebrow as she carrying the armor of the enemy she just defeated. "For disguise?"
Clyde was already unlatching pieces of the gear, his fingers moving fast.
"Yeah. We’re going deep into Gabriel’s domain. With this, we might pass the first few checkpoints," Clyde said.
Asqa also started to wear the armor she just take.
"Makes sense. But will this really be enough? We don’t have wings and Archangel Gabriel probably sense us long before we get close."
Clyde strapped on the silver cuirass, letting its enchanted clasps seal shut. His coat’s divine enchantments vanished beneath the exterior of the holy armor.
"It doesn’t matter. I’m not planning to hide for long."
Asqa paused, looking over at him. "Then what’s the plan?"
"We go as deep as we can," Clyde said. "We create chaos, loud and fast. Enough to force Gabriel’s hand."
"Force him to come after us," Asqa murmured.
"And force him to cancel his talks with the Olympians," Clyde finished, tightening the straps on his armored gauntlet. "If he’s busy chasing ghosts in his own garden, he won’t be shaking hands with gods."
A moment of quiet passed between them. Then Asqa pulled the last piece of her borrowed armor into place.
"Understood."
They stood side by side now, both clad in shimmering silver divine armor forged for Eden’s soldiers.
Clyde looked toward the horizon of the domain, where golden towers rose faintly against a blue-white sky.
"Let’s make sure Gabriel cancel his meeting."
Clyde and Asqa soared through the sky with silence and spee. Their [Flight] skill carried them fast across the shimmering clouds.
The broken battlefield fell behind them. Ahead, the main island of Gabriel’s domain loomed larger and larger, surrounded by concentric rings of floating sanctuaries and fortress towers.
It was breathtaking.
It was also their target.
Massive golden towers pierced the clouds, connected by bridges of light and reinforced by shield barriers that shimmered faintly against the daylight.
Giant statues stood watch and at the very heart of it all, perched atop a towering hill of white stone and flowering trees, was the central resident of Gabriel.
Clyde’s gaze fixed on it.
"We go loud once we’re inside that perimeter," he said quietly, mind linked to Asqa.
She nodded, silent and together, they dove into Eden’s lion’s den.

In another layer of reality veiled from all but the highest of beings, in the garden of Zues’s domain.
This was Zeus’s chosen place within the Olympus-Angel meeting.
A circle of polished white stone formed the foundation of the meeting table. And around this table sat forces the world hadn’t seen gathered since the ancient time of creation.
Archangel Gabriel sat with serene posture. Beside him sat Raphael with his hands folded calmly. Michael sat at the other end with silent and intense attitude.
Across from them sat the gods.
Hades wearing regal dark-robed, leaned forward with fingers steepled. Shadows curled near his feet. His expression was calm and flat.
Poseidon sit with arms crossed over his silver chestplate. He hadn’t spoken much yet.
Zeus himself wore no armor, only white robes shot through with crackling arcs of lightning. His expression serious and contemplativ
"This shouldn’t be possible," Poseidon finally said, voice like the crash of distant waves. "Your kind and ours were never meant to sit at the same table. Not like this."
"And yet we’re here," Hades added in low voice. "Because something has disturbed the order."
Michael said nothing and only looking at the meeting. For now he just need to observe.
Zeus spoke next. He wanted to directly go to the matter. Because somehow he thinks that they will not have much more change to talk.
"You all felt it. I have received news of Uriel’s defeat and that abominations fought Gabriel’s on equal ground."
A grim silence settled over the table. Even Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon could sense the storm circling them. They all felt an invisible pressure, a growing imbalance in the weave of the world itself.
This mortal, this... anomaly, they still did not know his name, but the whispers had reached even Olympus and the highest orders of the Archangels.
A being who wielded the power of both Angel and Demon. And now... the possibility of Celestial energy stirring within him wasn’t far-fetched.
No mortal should’ve survived that clash with an Archangel. No one should’ve stood against Uriel and defeated her. But he had.
Zeus leaned forward and speak. "We cannot let this fracture widen. If he carries all three powers he is not just a threat. He is a convergence. A singularity that could unravel all we are."
The gods looked to the Archangels. "I am asking," Zeus continued, "that your legions and ours unite. We will not face this enemy divided."
Gabriel closed his eyes for a moment, then nodded. "Agreed. My army will march with you."
Raphael, calm as ever, followed. "For the balance of all things I also agree."
Michael, after a pause, gave a short nod. "So be it."
But inside, his thoughts twisted. A combined force of Celestials and Angels would be unstoppable. This can be hard even for Clyde, and they will certainly targeting him and attack him together.
Then Gabriel frowned sharply, eyes flashing. A faint pulse of divine energy rippled across the table.
"What is it?" Poseidon asked.
Gabriel’s voice dropped. "A message. From the inner sanctum of my domain."
He looked up, face hardening.
"...We’re under attack."
