Chapter 383: Gathered Again
Chapter 383: Gathered Again
After that conversation, Clyde immediately decided to rest for a while. The situation was quite dire now, with the Archangels possibly knowing about him and preparing to hunt him down. But he wasn’t too worried after considering a few things.
He was inside a Ruin, something that wouldn’t be easy for them to find. He also had two allies who would help him since they possessed considerable power.
One of them was Graemory, a Demon Duchess. She had told him that this place would remain hidden when she brought him here.
The other was Asmodeus, one of the Demon Kings, whom he had defeated and who had received essence from the Ancient One. He should be willing to aid in the god’s purpose.
Even so, Asqa couldn’t be as relaxed as him. She had different priorities. She wasn’t as strong as Clyde. Even after Clyde assured her that everything would be fine, she still couldn’t stay calm.
The need to grow stronger made her even more eager to take action. So Clyde asked the soldiers stationed in this Ruin by Graemory. He asked them if there were still monsters around that Asqa could kill to gain Exp.
The soldiers said they had cleared most of the area around the mansion. But, of course, there were still some monsters in the more distant parts.
Hearing that, Asqa immediately prepared to go there to kill those monsters and gain Exp to level up.
She said it was better to do it alone, so Clyde didn’t bother arguing because he knew her determination. But he gave her a suggestion—to take armor and weapons he had taken from Uriel’s storage.
"Pick whatever you want," Clyde said after pulling out the armor and weapons from his Inventory.
The pile of armor and weapons lay before them. That was all collection of craftsmanship from Eden.
Each piece carried the unmistakable aura of divine power, their edges looks sharp enough to cut through the air, and their surfaces pulsing faintly with holy energy.
Among the weapons, there were swords with shimmering intricate golden engravings.
A long spear that had a jagged tip that crackled with residual lightning. There were also warhammers, and bows strung with threads of light.
The armor pieces were just as exquisite. Asqa can see a breastplates sculpted to fit perfectly against the wearer’s form, each inscribed with some sigils. Gauntlets forged from some special metal that shimmered with enchantments. Some pieces carried a regal presence that meant for Archangels who once stood at the forefront of wars.
Yet, Clyde’s eyes moved toward a particular set that seemed more suited for Asqa. Unlike the heavy plated armors meant for the towering might of the Angels, this one was lighter that looks like it was crafted for magic power and precision rather than brute force.
A sleek robe with silver with faint streaks of midnight blue, designed to provide protection and also providing enough magic power boost. The accompanying bracers were thin but reinforced with layered enchantments.
And then there was the weapons. A wand stood out. Unlike the swords, or polearms, or hammer that radiated overwhelming power, this weapon carried a humming magic power.
Its hilt was wrapped in dark leather, the shaft itself forged from a metal that seemed to shift between steel and light, as if flickering between realms.
It wasn’t a weapon for close combat. It was for big decisive strikes from afar that feels like suit Asqa’s style.
Clyde glanced at Asqa, who was already drawn to the same set he had picked out for her in his mind. Her fingers traced the edge of the wand, testing its weight, her eyes filled with silent approval.
She was never one for grand weapons, nor was she the type to stand at the front lines in heavy armor. This was her style.
Even though she had used the dagger when facing Uriel before, it was because she didn’t have any choice.
A smirk tugged at Clyde’s lips as he crossed his arms. "I had a feeling you’d go for that one."
Asqa nodded, a rare glimmer of excitement flickering in her eyes.
"I like it," she said simply, gripping the wand a little tighter before turning her attention to the robe and bracers.
Without hesitation, she donned the sleek robe, feeling the fabric settle around her like a second skin.
The moment it draped over her shoulders, a pulse of energy coursed through her, spreading warmth across her body.
It wasn’t just protective, it resonated with her very core, amplifying the flow of magic within her. A sharp intake of breath escaped her lips as she clenched her fists, feeling the raw surge of newfound power humming beneath her skin.
The bracers followed next, wrapping snugly around her wrists, their enchantments instantly linking with the robe’s magic.
For the first time in a while, she felt truly empowered. Before, her magic had been restrained and limited by her own lack of strength. But now, she could tell that her spells would come faster, hit harder, and last longer.
The difference was like night and day.
She turned to Clyde, her gaze steady.
"Thanks for this," she said with voice that carrying genuine appreciation. "For bringing these from Uriel’s private storage. Whatever was in there I know that they must be the best of his entire armory."
Clyde gave a small shrug. "Figured it’d be a waste to let it rot in there."
Asqa exhaled, focusing her mind. Now that the armor, bracers, and wand were hers, the System responded. Information flooded her vision, revealing their true names, descriptions, and effects.

Asqa’s fingers curled around the wand with firm grip. This was more than she could have asked for. With these, she wouldn’t just be a support fighter, she could hold her own and unleash destruction from a distance, and stand alongside Clyde without feeling like dead weight.
A smirk tugged at her lips as she turned toward the mansion’s exit.
"Time to test it out."
Asqa walked to the front door without another word. Clyde, already half-distracted by his own exhaustion, merely waved a hand lazily.
"Good luck," he muttered before turning away, making his way back to his bed.
She smiled faintly, though he don’t see it.
Then, without hesitation, she leaped.
The floating landmasses stretched out before her, the broken fragments of a shattered world that drifting through the void.
She landed lightly on the first, before propelling herself to the next. Her newfound power humming through her limbs making her movement feel almost effortless.
She moved forward, further from the mansion, until she reached a distant plateau where silence reigned.
Here, she would put her new strength to the test.

Across the universe, where order was unraveling into chaos, the Archangels gathered.
Not all of them were present, only Gabriel, Azrael, and Michael that sit in the grand chamber, their body bathed in the ethereal glow.
Raphael had remained behind tending to Uriel, whose wounds — both physical and mental — had left her in a state no Archangel should ever have been reduced to.
Gabriel’s expression was unreadable, but there was no mistaking the weight in his eyes. They can see his thoughts churned.
Across from him, Azrael and Michael watched him intently, shaken by what they had just heard.
"A creature... that wields both the power of Angels and Demons?" Michael repeated, his voice uncharacteristically quiet. His grip tightening at his side. "That is impossible."
He haven’t heard of anything like this from the Ancient One. What is going on? Who is he?
"But it has happened," Gabriel replied, his voice a blade of cold certainty. "Uriel has fallen to him."
Silence followed. A terrible silence.
Azrael’s gaze flickered. "You are certain of this?"
Gabriel did not respond immediately. His wings shifted slightly, his presence darkened by the knowledge he now carried.
Uriel had been overpowered and now broken. By something that should not exist.
Michael exhaled sharply, his patience thinning. "Who is he?" he demanded. "This... anomaly?"
Gabriel’s fingers curled into his palm. "I don’t know. He looks like a human, a lower being."
"Lower being?" Azrael spat, his voice laced with disdain, shock, and anger. His eyes narrowed, disbelief etched into every fiber of his being.
"Yes," Gabriel said grimly. "He was once mortal, yet now wields power beyond reason. Uriel awakened briefly—just long enough to confirm. The creature came from the Selection Stage in the lower world... and seeks to destroy us."
Michael’s grip tightened. He had never heard of this, despite his direct service to the Ancient One. His confusion deepened, unease gnawing at him. He would need answers soon.
