Chapter 380: Another Angel

Chapter 380: Another Angel

Clyde barely had time to react before the shining golden blade came streaking toward him. But with instinct honed by countless battles, he raised his arm, his Elderglass Sword intercepting the attack in a violent clash of energy.

CLANG!

The force behind the strike sent vibrations through his arm, but he held strong. His muscles tensing against the sheer power behind the blow.

The sword that had attacked him was massive — almost too large for a normal warrior to wield — yet it moved with unnatural speed. Clyde’s sharp gaze followed its trajectory as he shoved it aside with a powerful push.

The golden weapon spun through the air, tumbling away. But before it could disappear into the battlefield’s chaos, something happened.

FWOOOSH!

The sword reversed its path, streaking back toward its wielder like a shooting star.

Clyde’s eyes narrowed as he traced the weapon’s return, his gaze landing on the figure who had thrown it.

Descending rapidly from above, a towering Angel clad in silver-gold armor cut through the air like a comet.

His radiant wings spread wide, their brilliant glow stark against the ruined land below. His face was carved with fury, his jaw tight, his expression cold.

The divine radiance surrounding him crackled with barely contained wrath.

It was Gabriel.

Clyde didn’t recognized him but he wa sure that this was one of the highest Archangels. A warrior who stood among the strongest of Heaven’s elite.

Gabriel caught his returning sword mid-flight, his grip tightening around the hilt as his boots touched the ground beside Uriel.

The impact of his landing sent a shockwave rippling, dust and embers swirling in the wake of his arrival.

Uriel lay on the ground, her armor shattered, her body broken, her front slick with divine blood—red, vibrant, yet shimmering with brilliance. Her face twisted in pain and her breathing ragged.

Gabriel knelt beside her for only a moment, his gaze flickering over her wounds. His anger deepened.

"You dare," he growled with low voice like a seething rumble. Then, louder showing his unchained fury, "YOU DARE ATTACK HER?!"

It was as if the heavens trembled by his voice.

A surge of divine energy erupted from Gabriel’s body. it was a violent pulse of light that sent the surrounding air into upheaval.

The ground beneath them cracked under the weight of his power, and the sky itself seemed to darken.

Clyde tilted his head slightly, his smirk returning despite the sheer force pressing against him.

"Oh?" His voice carried no fear, only intrigue. "Another one of you come."

Gabriel’s eyes that burning like twin suns locked onto Clyde with pure hatred. He didn’t care how Clyde managed to defeat Uriel like this. It’s a question for later when he had defeated him.

"I will erase you," Gabriel promised, raising his blade high, the golden weapon crackling with raw celestial fire. "No more games and no more mercy. You will be nothing but dust!"

Clyde’s fingers tightened around his own sword, the dark glass-like blade pulsing with abyssal energy.

He exhaled slowly, his gaze sharp.

"Then stop talking," Clyde shot forward in an instant, a streak of darkness against Gabriel’s blinding light. "And try."

Their swords met in a catastrophic explosion of power.

Gabriel had no time to tend to Uriel’s wounds. He hadn’t expected his enemy to attack without hesitation, not when facing an Archangel like him.

In all his battles, he had never encountered an opponent who charged at him so boldly, even the Demon Kings.

Their enemies — the Demons, Celestials, even powerful mortals — always hesitated when facing the Archangels. Always faltered under their divine presence.

But this one... This one did not hesitate.

Gabriel could feel it the moment their blades clashed. The sheer force behind Clyde’s strike sent tremors up his arm.

The weight of his attack and the raw power behind wasn’t something to be dismissed.

It made sense. If Clyde had managed to bring Uriel to this state, then his strength was undeniable. But Gabriel knew the truth.

Uriel had not been in the right state of mind. Her judgment had been clouded, her emotions frayed. She was not the same warrior she had been before. That was why she had lost.

But Gabriel was different. He was clear-minded now. Focused and unshaken, or so he thought.

With a sudden surge of force, he shoved Clyde back.

Clyde skidded across the ruined ground, his boots carving deep lines into the earth.

He came to a stop and standing firm again. His eyes fixed on Gabriel with that same fearless expression.

Gabriel spared only a second to act.

With a wave of his hand, a sphere of radiant light surrounded Uriel’s broken body, encasing her in a protective barrier.

Within the orb, her breathing steadied, her pain momentarily dulled by the divine energy sealing her inside.

She was out of the fight and protected.

Now, there were no distractions.

Gabriel turned his full attention to Clyde and launched himself forward.

BOOM!

The air shattered around him as he closed the distance in an instant, his golden blade arcing downward with the full force of his fury.

Clyde met him head-on.

CLANG!

Their swords clashed again, Angel power and abyssal darkness colliding in a storm of pure devastation.

Shockwaves tore through the ground, sending rubble flying and distorting the air with their overwhelming energies.

Gabriel didn’t stop. He pressed the attack with precise and merciless slashes, wanted to cut his enemy as soon as possible.

But Clyde was unexpetedly strong and faster than Gabriel had anticipated. He wove between the slashes, parrying and countering with sharp, calculated attacks of his own.

Gabriel narrowed his eyes. This was no ordinary creture.

Clyde wasn’t just strong. He was dangerous. He just like what Uriel had said, a man who wilded power of Angel and Demon at once.

"Who are you?" Gabriel asked with a growl between his slashes.

Clyde smirked even amidst the clashes. "Why you want to know?"

"I’m giving you a chance to redeem yourself."

"Ha!" Clyde snorted, amused. "Redeem myself? You’re the one who should redeem yourself. After what you had done to mortal like us."

Gabriel widened his eyes slightly. Mortals?
