Entering Apocalypse in Easy-Mode
Chapter 363: Panicked Mind

Chapter 363: Panicked Mind

They hadn’t just gone mad. They had changed physically as well. In such a short time, these heavenly soldiers, once infused with Angelic power, had turned into monsters.

Uriel couldn’t help but feel frustration and despair as she realized the extent of the situation. This had already spiraled far beyond her control.

After a brutal struggle, the scholars who had sacrificed themselves to join the battle managed to pull Uriel away from the swarm of soldiers-turned-monsters.

"Close the doors! Don’t let anyone in!"

"Set up a barrier! We have to hold the entrance!"

The elders of Uriel’s domain shouted orders, their voices filled with panic and fear. They weren’t warriors, yet they had no choice but to defend themselves in the midst of this nightmare. It didn’t look good. Did they even stand a chance?

The pounding on the doors didn’t stop. The monsters were already chasing after them.

"Stay calm. This building won’t be easy to break into," one of the scholars reassured.

"Are you sure? From what I saw outside, those soldiers have turned into monsters!" a younger scholar, visibly panicked, shot back.

The other scholars, servants, and residents of the domain voiced their fears as well. Nothing like this had ever happened before, and that terrified them.

Asqa stood in the corner of the room, clenching her fists. She felt the same fear as the others.

Her gaze shifted to Archangel Uriel, who was now sitting in another corner, being treated by a healer who happened to be inside the building.

The mighty Archangel looked weak—her strength gone in the blink of an eye.

What was happening here was horrifying and unexpected. A force greater and more powerful than the Archangels—perhaps even stronger than the Celestials and Demons—was rising. Based on what she had seen so far, they stood no chance.

"I have to contact Clyde. He seems to know more than even the Archangels themselves."

Asqa realized that her only chance of survival was reuniting with Clyde as soon as possible. If she didn’t, she would either fall under the same influence or die at the hands of the corrupted soldiers.

"These scholars have already been affected. It’s only a matter of time before they turn as well, and I doubt there’s much time left."

Asqa silently slipped through one of the doors, disappearing from the room. She had to get away from them. Hopefully, she hadn’t been exposed too much to the influence.

No, she shouldn’t be affected—she hadn’t interacted with the fragment.

Once she reached a secluded corner of the building, Asqa double-checked to make sure no one had followed her. Then, she reached out to Clyde through telepathic communication.

"Clyde, the situation has gotten extremely dangerous. The warriors in Uriel’s domain have suddenly turned into monsters! I think... I need you to get me out of here."

She didn’t know how busy Clyde was with whatever he was doing, but she was terrified. She couldn’t stay here for long.

"What are you doing?"

A sharp voice suddenly called out behind her.

Asqa turned to see Hiro—one of Uriel’s most devoted followers—staring at her with narrowed eyes and a furrowed brow.

Asqa’s eyes widened as she saw him. How had he suddenly appeared here when she had made sure no one was following her?

"This isn’t good." She swallowed hard. But right now, she had to act natural and avoid drawing any suspicion.

"I... I was too scared to stay there, so I ran here," Asqa said. Her face had already shown fear from the beginning, so she thought it wouldn’t be hard to convince him.

Hiro continued to stare at her with a suspicious look. But after a few moments, his expression shifted into a soft smile.

The sudden change in his demeanor was deeply unsettling. Asqa had always suspected something was off about Hiro. He was too devoted, too kind—she had never once seen anything wrong with him. He never got angry, never lost his temper.

Was that normal? Of course not. That’s why she had always believed something wasn’t right about him.

But he was one of Uriel’s most devoted followers, which meant he held more authority than she did.

"I understand how you feel. This must all be very disturbing, right?" Hiro said, nodding thoughtfully. "But, Asqa, why did I sense telepathic energy coming from you earlier?"

Shocked, Asqa couldn’t control her expression. Her eyes widened, and her lips trembled.

"I-It must be a mistake. I—"

"Stop lying," Hiro said firmly, though his smile remained unchanged. "You sent a telepathic message to someone, even though that should be impossible—especially in a situation like this."

"Damn it! What do I do now?!"

"You don’t want to talk?" Hiro suddenly moved closer, grabbing Asqa’s wrist with a firm grip.

"Then I’ll take you before Her Majesty myself!"

Hiro yanked her forward with such strength that Asqa couldn’t resist. Desperate, she sent one last message to Clyde.

"Clyde! Help me. I think I’m gonna die!"

---

Clyde was still in his mansion, resting in his bedroom, when Asqa’s telepathic message suddenly echoed in his mind.

"The warriors in Uriel’s domain... they’ve turned into monsters!"

His body tensed as his eyes snapped open. So it had already begun. He had anticipated this possibility, but hearing it confirmed sent a cold wave through his thoughts.

Before he could fully process the implications, another message came through—this time laced with panic.

"Clyde! Help me. I think I’m gonna die!"

Clyde’s eyes widened. There was no time to waste. He jumped up, throwing on a shirt. His coat was useless, torn to shreds from his last battle, so he didn’t bother with it.

He then grabbed his Elderglass sword and strapped it into his waist.

Without hesitation, he focused on Asqa’s signal, channeling it into the amulet hanging around his neck. A portal to Uriel’s domain wouldn’t be easy to open—not from this distance, not without direct access to their pathways.

The process was slow, agonizingly so, and his impatience burned with every passing second.

"Faster, damnit!" he muttered, gripping the amulet tighter as arcs of energy crackled in the air before him.

Asqa was running out of time. And he wasn’t about to let her die.

Hiro dragged Asqa back into the main hall, where Uriel lay resting, and the others were still gripped by panic.

The moment they entered, all eyes turned to them—scholars, servants, and residents alike, their fear and desperation hanging thick in the air.

"I’ve brought someone suspicious, Your Majesty," Hiro announced, his voice steady but carrying weight. "She was attempting to send a telepathic message to someone outside this domain. And perhaps... she is the reason the warriors have turned into monsters."

A murmur rippled through the crowd, quickly escalating into hushed accusations. Their already fragile state of mind made them eager for answers, and Hiro’s words provided one—regardless of whether it was true or not.

Angry glares bore down on Asqa, their desperation twisting into hostility. Fear had a way of turning people cruel, and she could feel it now, suffocating her. Her presence alone had become a spark in this volatile atmosphere.

Then, amidst the growing tension, Uriel stirred. The mighty Archangel, who had looked so drained before, slowly rose to her feet. Her jaw was clenched, her golden eyes sharp and piercing as they locked onto Asqa.

She took a step forward.

And then another.

The weight of her presence was suffocating, and as she approached, the room fell silent as if the very air had frozen.

Uriel’s gaze bore into Asqa, her golden eyes ablaze with fury and suspicion.

"What were you doing?" she demanded, her voice sharp like a blade. "Why did you send a telepathic message?"

Asqa swallowed hard, her mind scrambling for the right words.

"I..." she stammered, her voice barely above a whisper. Of course, she couldn’t answer immediately, not when every breath felt like it could be her last.

But the truth was, she was already cornered. There was no use in lying anymore. And everybody even the Archangel wasn’t in their right mind right now.

Uriel’s expression darkened at the hesitation. In one swift motion, she unsheathed her flaming sword, the ethereal fire licking hungrily at the air. The heat pressed against Asqa’s skin, making her flinch.

"Tell me!" Uriel’s voice thundered through the chamber. "Is it you? Are you the one who turned my soldiers into those abominations?"

"No," Asqa answered firmly, meeting Uriel’s gaze despite the overwhelming pressure. "It’s another force. A force that will destroy your reign."

The room fell deathly silent.

Uriel’s eyes widened in shock, just for a moment. But before she could respond, the air filled with frantic murmurs—whispers of fear, anger, and confusion spreading like wildfire among the scholars and servants.

Some looked ready to turn against Asqa, while others simply trembled, their already fragile hope cracking even further.

The weight of Asqa’s words settled heavily over them all.

And then, Uriel’s sword come slashing down at her.
