Chapter 360: Another Meeting

Uriel tensed in the air as she looked at her army. Her brow furrowed deeply, filled with fear and confusion.

How had the influence of that thing already reached here without her noticing? Had the other Archangels sensed this presence spreading through their armies as well? Or was it only happening here?

Uncertain of what to do, Uriel quickly returned to her chamber and contacted Gabriel, who was still in the Far North dimension. He was the only one she truly trusted in a situation like this — more than any of the other Archangels.

Uriel called Gabriel.

---

Far away in the Far North, Gabriel remained stationed alongside the other factions that had chosen to stay. Many had already returned to their realms, but some, like Gabriel, lingered here, unwilling to leave without fully understanding the situation.

They still needed to see how events would unfold here. So they can report back to those stationed at their realms.

The Black Wall that once spewing forth horrific monsters suddenly had gone eerily still. No creatures emerged from its depths anymore.

But that did not bring comfort at all. Instead, its surface — once smooth and ominously silent — was now swirling with strange movements.

Tendrils of shadow, or perhaps black mist, writhed and twisted across its expanse as though something was shifting within it, preparing for something unknown.

The sight made the remaining warriors uneasy. The stillness of the Black Wall felt more ominous than when it had been active.

Gabriel stood at the edge of his tent, his silver armor gleaming under the unnatural light that bathed the Far North. His wings remained folded behind him, his gaze locked onto the Wall, observing its unnatural turbulence.

When his mind buzzed, he answered immediately.

"What is it, Uriel?" Gabriel asked with calm but firm voice.

Uriel took a deep breath, steadying herself before speaking.

"Something is wrong," she said. "It’s not just a feeling. I can sense it. Something has already begun to spread through Heaven’s forces. My warriors and commanders... they’re being affected by that thing. I don’t know if the others have noticed, but it’s there. It’s subtle, but it’s real."

Gabriel frowned. "Affected how?"

"They looked hesitating. Maybe full of fear,"

Uriel said. "Only for a moment. I can see tremor in their hands and a flicker in their gazes. It’s almost imperceptible but it’s there. And the worst part? It’s everywhere. It’s moving through them like an infection."

Gabriel’s expression darkened. "You think it’s connected to the thing we saw?"

"I’m sure it is," Uriel admitted. "Whatever this is... I can feel it watching us."

At that, Gabriel’s grip on his weapon tightened. He turned his gaze back to the swirling mass of the Wall.

If Uriel was right, then this wasn’t just a lingering effect they just thought. This was something else that already active and moving.

And worst of all, it was already inside Heaven. How did it spread so fast?

Gabriel also felt and saw the vision that Uriel had witnessed. In fact, he believed that everyone present—whether the Celestials or the Demons—had seen it too.

But what exactly was this? Things had started to escalate ever since the scouts returned from within the Black Wall and brought back the fragments.

Gabriel’s mind raced, piecing together the sequence of events. His usually calm demeanor wavered, a subtle frown creasing his brow.

The scouts — Elsa, Aerralyn, and Kassiel — had ventured deeper into the Black Wall than anyone else. When they returned, they carried with them black shards with shifting runes they can not understand whose origins remained a mystery.

Nobody knew what truly transpired inside the Black Wall. Not even the scouts themselves could fully explain it

Since then, the balance had shifted. The emergence of the Eye, the spreading unease among the warriors, and the unseen influence gnawing at the Celestial and Demon and Angels alike—everything had begun after the return of those three.

Gabriel’s fingers unconsciously gripped the hilt of his sword as he considered the implications. Could it be that the fragments were not mere relics but conduits — vessels for whatever presence lurked beyond the veil?

If that was true, then the contamination had already spread much further than anyone realized.

The fragments had been studied, moved, and even carried into different realms. Their influence might have already reached the very heart of Eden, Hell, and the all the Celestial realms.

Uriel’s voice crackled through the communication channel, breaking his thoughts.

"Gabriel... what is happening to us?"

Gabriel’s grip tightened. He did not have an answer. All he knew was that whatever force lay behind the ’Eye’ it had already begun to weave its tendrils through every realm and corrupting everything in its path.

"We need to gather the others," Gabriel said finally, his voice steady despite the turmoil within. "Elsa, Aerralyn, and Kassiel. We need to bring them to us, all of the Archangels. They are the only ones who know what happened inside the Black Wall and we need to know the truth about it."

Uriel hesitated for a moment before replying. "You right. Understood. I will summon them."

The connection faded, leaving Gabriel alone once more.

He turned his gaze toward the swirling restless surface of the Black Wall in the distance. Its tendrils writhed with an unseen power — an ancient force stirring beneath its surface.

Time could be running out already without them knowing.

---

Michael smiled as he gazed down at his forces, now making their final preparations. He hovered above his domain in Eden, watching over them.

The fragments had yet to reach his realm, but that was irrelevant. Archangel Michael had long prepared his forces to receive the power of the Ancient One.

Now, they were fully merged with it, bound entirely to his will. Their minds no longer belonged to them—even if they had yet to realize it.

"HAHAHAHA!"

Michael’s laughter rang out, wild and unrestrained, almost unhinged. If any of his fellow Archangels saw him now, they would surely think he had lost his mind.

"AHAHAHAHA!"

But there was no one to witness it. The other Archangels were too busy preparing for a war they could not win. Unbeknownst to them, the true force of nature and the cosmic unknown was already spreading through their souls.

Michael abruptly stopped laughing. A telepathic message come to his mind.

It was from Uriel.

"Now, what does she want this time?"

Michael found her persistence amusing. Uriel, always burning with passion, constantly struggling alongside Gabriel to manage the situation—only to make everything worse.

He let out a short chuckle before calming himself, composing his thoughts as he prepared to receive Uriel’s message.

Uriel’s voice echoed through the telepathic link, laced with urgency.

"Michael, something dangerous is happening."

Michael smirked to himself. She couldn’t see his expression, which made it all the more amusing. He had expected this.

"Oh? And what might that be?" he asked, feigning mild curiosity.

"An unknown force is spreading within our ranks undetected." Uriel’s voice was tense, her concern unmistakable. "It’s already taken root, and we don’t even know how deep it goes. I believe it started after we retrieved the fragments from the Black Wall."

Michael’s smirk faded. His brow furrowed. So, she had noticed. Not entirely surprising—Uriel was perceptive when it came to threats. But the truth was, he had been aware of this long before she ever realized it. The difference was, he had embraced it.

"We need to gather again. Now," Uriel insisted. "This isn’t something we can ignore."

Michael exhaled, shaking his head slightly. A meeting? Pointless. None of them could stop what had already begun.

Still, he let out a low chuckle before responding.

"Alright, Uriel. Let’s meet."

---

Uriel exhaled heavily, frustration etched into her face. Not all the Archangels had agreed to meet. Azrael and Raphael had outright refused, claiming they were too occupied with preparing their troops for the inevitable war.

It didn’t matter how loudly she had insisted, how restless she had sounded. They would not come.

So now, only a handful of them gathered. Michael stood with his usual unreadable expression, his golden armor gleaming under the ethereal light of Eden’s grand chamber.

Raguel and Sariel were present as well, their gazes flicking toward Uriel with concern.

Gabriel who was still stationed in the Far North, had joined through a flickering holographic projection, his translucent form shifting with the unstable connection.

Despite the others standing firm, Uriel couldn’t stop pacing. Her wings twitched, her fingers curled and uncurled, her entire body radiating unease.

She hated this. She hated how blind the others were to the real threat lurking beneath their feet.

"The situation is getting worse," she said abruptly, breaking the silence. "Azrael and Raphael are fools for thinking this is just another battle! Something is corrupting our forces, and none of you seem to understand the weight of it!"

Michael leaned back against the stone pillar, arms crossed, watching her like a predator waiting for its prey to slip.

"We understand it just fine, Uriel," he said smoothly. "The question is, what do you propose we do?"

Uriel stopped pacing. Her sharp gaze locked onto him.

"We need to find the source. If it really started from those fragments, then we have to track them down and destroy them before this influence spreads beyond our control. I already called those three scouts here."

Gabriel’s holographic form flickered, his expression grave. "If it hasn’t already."
