Chapter 351: A Fireball

Chapter 351: A Fireball

The fireball crashed onto a floating landmass with a booming sound and obliterating it in an instant.

Fragments of rock and debris scattered in all directions as a second explosion followed, igniting another island below where the fireball finally landed.

A shockwave of searing flames rippled outward, distorting the air with unbearable heat.

Then, from the raging inferno, a figure emerged.

Demon King Asmodeus stepped forward, unscathed by the flames that still clung to his towering form. His presence alone was suffocating like an overwhelming force that twisted the very fabric of reality around him with his heat.

He eas wearing armor was forged from black obsidian with jagged edges pulsing with veins of molten energy as if the inferno itself had been trapped within.

His crimson eyes burned with a predatory glow. Two massive horns curved back from his forehead, shimmering with ember cracks that pulsed with every breath he took.

His long, dark hair flowed behind him, untouched by the fire, a stark contrast to the destruction surrounding him.

Black wings that looked tattered but still imposing, unfurled behind him. Outlined in a smoldering red glow.

With every step he took, the ground beneath him scorched and cracked, unable to withstand the sheer heat of hellfire radiating from his body.

A smirk curled his lips. The smirk was neither welcoming nor amused, but filled with knowing confidence.

"So this is where you’ve been hiding, Clyde," Asmodeus said, his voice deep, laced with amusement yet carrying an undeniable weight. "Did you really think you could stay out of my sight forever after you stole my thing?!"

Clyde sighed. So in the end, Asmodeus had found him. Everything Graemory had prepared was almost useless against the vast resources of a Demon King. He should have expected this.

The soldiers around Clyde trembled slightly at the sight of the mighty Demon King Asmodeus. But even so, they raised their weapons, ready to fight. Their duty was to protect Clyde, no matter the cost.

But Clyde knew they would only die helplessly against Asmodeus. There was no way they could stand against him—even if they attacked together.

"You should stand down," Clyde said.

"But, my lord—" one of the soldiers, seemingly bound by a strong sense of duty, spoke up. But Clyde cut him off with a raised hand.

"It’s alright. You won’t be able to defeat him. You’ve all done well," Clyde said, his tone calm.

The soldiers exchanged uncertain glances. But they knew he was right. They couldn’t possibly match Asmodeus and would likely die the moment they clashed.

Clyde gave them a small nod as he saw them reluctantly retreat.

He then stepped forward. Fortunately, he was already equipped with his gear. His most trusted weapon, the Elderglass sword, rested at his hip.

Clyde activated [Flight] and soared toward Asmodeus, landing a few meters away on another floating landmass in front of him.

"At last, I finally really meet you," Asmodeus said, grinning wildly like a hunter who had finally found his prey after a long chase.

"Yes, it seems that way," Clyde replied flatly.

"Hah!" Asmodeus scoffed, amused. "You don’t seem nervous, human. I’m actually surprised. Just how strong are you?"

His scrutinizing gaze locked onto Clyde, his eyes blazing as if fire burned within them.

And what he saw made his grin falter—just for a moment. He could glimpse a fraction of Clyde’s power, and indeed, the human was strong.

But then, Asmodeus laughed.

"HA HA HA HA! Great! This is great! I thought this would be an easy fight, but you seem quite capable, Clyde. I’ll enjoy this battle before I kill you!"

Clyde smirked, letting out a short scoff. "You still think you can kill me? It seems you’ve lived as a Demon King for so long that no one has ever made you stare death in the face. This time, I’ll give you a fight that... yes, you’ll enjoy it. Because it will be your last."

"Hahaha!" Asmodeus laughed again. "Interesting, human!"

Then his wings flapped, and he lunged at Clyde with terrifying speed.

CLANG!

Asmodeus’s crimson fire sword met Clyde’s Elderglass sword, the impact sending a shockwave rippling through the air.

The sheer force of their clash cracked the floating landmass beneath them, fissures glowing with embers from the Demon king’s power.

Without hesitation, they launched into a deadly exchange of strikes in the next second.

Clyde’s blade moved with precise and simple attacks, while Asmodeus’s attacks carried overwhelming and explosive force.

Every swing of his fire sword left streaks of burning energy in its wake, igniting the air around them

CLANG!

CLANG!

CLANG!

Sparks of fire erupted with every collision, scattering like miniature meteors. The sky above darkened further, rumbling as if resonating with their battle.

Clyde weaved through Asmodeus’s brutal slashes while keep dodging and parrying. His Elderglass sword absorbing and dispersing the intense heat.

But Asmodeus pressed on while keep laugher. His relentless attack shaking the foundations of the battlefield which is just a floating landmass.

Then, with a powerful downward slash Asmodeus forced Clyde to block head-on.

The impact sent a burning shockwave exploding outward, tearing apart a nearby floating landmass.

However, even after that, Clyde remained firm, his feet planted and his gaze still steady.

"You’re not bad, human," Asmodeus growled, eyes gleaming with wicked excitement.

Clyde smirked, tightening his grip on his sword. "And you’re not as impressive as I expected, Demon!" Clyde said with a sign of mocking him back.

With that, he twisted his blade and retaliated with a devastating counterattack.

Clyde twisted his blade and struck back with blistering speed. His Elderglass sword shimmered, slicing through the air in a flawless arc.

Asmodeus barely had time to react before the force of the attack sent him skidding backward because he didn’t expect that speed. His feet carving deep grooves into the fractured landmass.

With a smirk, Clyde pressed forward and releasing relentless attacks. Each clash of their blades sent shockwaves rippling through the battlefield, tearing apart floating debris.

Asmodeus gritted his teeth, his fire aura flaring wildly now.
