Chapter 325: Sharing

The storm had begun to settle into a steady downpour, the wind still howling but no longer raging as it had before. But, despite the weather that starting to calmed down, an unseen tension thickened the air and pressing down on those who remained.

Uriel turned a fragment over in his hands and watching as the shifting runes pulsed and shifting.

Gabriel stood beside her, his gaze locked on the blackened shard as if willing it to reveal its secrets.

Across the gathering, the leaders of the factions — gods and Demons alike — had begun to withdraw.

Athena who had her brows still furrowed from what she had witnessed, shook her head.

"I don’t know what to make of this," she muttered, more to herself than to anyone else. Then, without another word, she turned and strode away, her golden armor gleaming under the dim sky.

Anubis had already vanished, slipping away in silence like the other celestials. His dark form fading into the shadows of the place.

Others followed. Some of the gods who had been present exchanged unreadable glances before quietly retreating to their respective tents, their expressions filled with unease and also some felt fear.

It was not just fear that drove them away. But it was something deeper.

It was a discomfort that came from witnessing something that should not exist beyond their understanding. Something that defied their understanding that they were the ruler of this worlds.

Uriel and Gabriel did not stop them. They couldn’t blame them.

They themselves stood at their place before. At the edge of the unknown and trying to grasp at a mystery that neither Eden, Hell, or Celestial realm could explain.

Gabriel let out a long sigh. "They don’t want to deal with it anymore it seems after what they saw."

Uriel nodded, her fingers tightening around the fragment. "And we can’t blame them for that."

For all their divine power and wisdom, none of them had an answer.

The visions they had seen about the ruined land, the towering walls, and the endless black ash, none of it belonged to their realms. It was a place untouched.

Something ancient. Something forgotten. And right now, that something is waiting to emerge.

Gabriel’s fingers brushed against the hilt of her sword reflexiveley. She had fought countless battles and had faced horrors beyond mortal comprehension, but this felt different.

She felt like it wasn’t an enemy they could fight.

Uriel sighed and turned to Gabriel. "We need to decide what to do with this."

Gabriel hesitated, then slowly nodded. "You right. We can’t ignore it." His blue eyes darkened. "But I fear what we might find if we go looking for answers."

Uriel looked down at the fragment once more.

Somewhere in the distance, thunder rumbled.

They had taken the first step into something greater than themselves.

But now there was no turning back from that.

Gabriel sighed, his grip on the fragment tightening as he considered their next step. Then, after a moment of silence, he spoke.

"We should take this to Eden. The scholars there may be able to analyze it."

Uriel glanced at the fragment one last time before nodding.

"I agree." She understood the importance of knowledge, of seeking answers rather than letting fear dictate their actions. "But we should ask the others one last time. Perhaps they wish to study it as well."

Raising her hand, Uriel channeled her power. A pulse of golden light surged outward, weaving through the air, infused with a divine resonance that carried her voice across the encampment.

"To all gathered here," Uriel’s voice echoed, magnified by her magic, reaching both gods and Demons. "If any among you wish to take a fragment for further analysis, step forward now."

For a moment, there was only silence. The rain continued to fall in steady sheets, the storm still whispering through the wind.

Then, from the darkness, Athena returned.

The goddess of wisdom strode forward.

She stopped before Uriel and Gabriel, her expression more composed than before but still lined with contemplation.

"I will take one," she said, extending her hand. "I have seen enough to know this cannot be ignored."

Uriel nodded and carefully placed one of the fragments into Athena’s palm.

The moment it touched her skin, the runes shimmered, shifting again.

Athena’s eyes narrowed, but she remained composed, merely tightening her fingers around it before turning away once more. Without another word, she vanished into the storm and retreating toward her tent.

Not long after, another presence emerged from the shadows.

Zaradorn. The demon general moved to them, his crimson eyes gleaming beneath his horned helm. He was sure that his master Belial would like to have this.

He approached, stopping before Uriel and Gabriel, he dipped his head slightly in acknowledgment.

"My Lord Belial wishes to study one as well," Zaradorn said.

Uriel studied him for a moment, then wordlessly handed him a second fragment.

Zaradorn took it carefully, his gauntleted fingers closing around the dark stone. For a brief moment, the runes flickered erratically, as if resisting his touch.

The Demon general gave a small nod. "I will take this to my Lord."

Then, without hesitation, he turned and strode away, disappearing into his sector just as swiftly as he had arrived.

Uriel watched him go before exhaling softly.

Gabriel crossed his arms. "So, Eden, Olympus, and Hell will each have one. That means maybe we wil get three different interpretations."

Uriel nodded. "Perhaps that is for the best. Different eyes may see different truths. And this might be uniting all of us when we know the real threat."

Gabriel looked down at the final fragment in his hand.

Uriel met her gaze. "We bring that one to Eden quick."

Gabriel sighed and nodding.

The storm had begun to fade but the weight of what had been set in motion remained.

The fragments had been scattered among the most powerful factions in existence.

What came next would depend on what they uncovered.

And whether or not they were prepared for the truth beyond their existance.
