Fu Rongyin remained motionless in his embrace, still holding the vase that he hadn’t managed to throw to the ground.

Chi Yue tightened her arms, "No, you didn’t scare me."

"Is it because I look ugly?"

As soon as Chi Yue lay down beside him, he pulled her into his arms. He didn’t do anything, just quietly rested his chin on her head, and before long, his breathing became even.

Chi Yue didn’t know when she fell asleep, but when she woke up, Fu Rongyin was no longer beside her.

The cellphone on the bedside table rang, it was Fu Rongyin’s phone. She called for Fu Rongyin twice, but when he didn’t respond, Chi Yue took the phone to look for him.

As soon as she stepped out of the room, the ringing of the phone came to an abrupt halt. Chi Yue subconsciously glanced at it and saw a new message: "You need a follow-up visit."

As she was thinking, Fu Mianmian came running up, calling her to come downstairs to eat. Chi Yue put the phone back in the room and went to the bathroom to freshen up.

Chi Yue recalled the events of the previous night, and it seemed that Fu Rongyin had been emotionally unstable to act in such a way.

Chu Shuo and Leng Siling came over to take Fu Rongyin to the company. These days, Chu Shuo had been helping handle the company’s affairs in Hai City.

While Fu Rongyin was gathering his things, Chi Yue pulled Chu Shuo aside.

"Has Fu Rongyin been sick in the past few years?"

A flicker of something flashed through the bottom of Chu Shuo’s eyes before he asked nonchalantly, "Who doesn’t get sick?"

Chi Yue stared at him, "Lu Nanxi came to provoke him last night. Fu Rongyin was throwing things in the living room in the middle of the night."

Chu Shuo looked and indeed noticed that many of the decorations in the living room were missing.

"I don’t necessarily need to know everything, but if there is a first time for something like yesterday, there will definitely be a second time. Think about whether you want to tell me or not."

Chu Shuo’s complexion visibly changed at a rapid pace.

Just when Chi Yue thought he was about to say something to her, Chu Shuo still refused to open up, "Wait until he’s a bit better, then ask him yourself."
