Chapter 470: Only Fu Mianmian Would Believe Fu Rongyin’s Nonsense

Once again stepping onto this familiar land, Chi Yue’s emotions were very complex.

Fu Mianmian was still sleeping sweetly in Fu Rongyin’s arms, completely unaware that she had been brought to another city in her sleep.

By the time they reached Fu Rongyin’s house, it was already deep into the night.

After settling Fu Mianmian, Fu Rongyin came out to look for her, "This place has always been cleaned, pick any room you like."

As dawn broke, Chi Yue was woken up by the noisy Fu Mianmian.

"Mommy, did you sleep well? Daddy said he would take us out to play today," she chirped.

Chi Yue, groggy with sleep, thought to herself that only Fu Mianmian would believe Fu Rongyin’s nonsense.

He clearly came back to take care of business, and he had brought her along only because he couldn’t leave Fu Mianmian behind and needed someone to watch her.

After cleaning up, Chi Yue walked out of the room with Fu Mianmian in tow, finding Fu Rongyin had already prepared breakfast.

Fu Mianmian ate with gusto, while Chi Yue barely touched her utensils before putting them down.

"Mr. Fu, I have some errands to run. If you don’t mind, I can take Mianmian with me and look after her," she offered.

Fu Rongyin didn’t even lift his eyelids, "You go ahead with your errands, I’ll look after Mianmian today."

"Could I borrow a few people?" she asked.

Fu Rongyin raised his eyebrows slightly but didn’t inquire further, "The bodyguards are next door, tell them how many you need."

With those words from Fu Rongyin, Chi Yue grabbed her bag and headed out.

At the entrance of the Chi Family’s house, Chi Yue pressed the doorbell.

The one to open the door was Yang Shulan.

Yang Shulan’s eyes widened involuntarily upon seeing Chi Yue.

"You... you..."

Chi Yue said calmly, "I’m here to see Mr. Chi."

Yang Shulan’s expression suddenly changed, and she began hustling me out, "Mr. Chi? This place doesn’t go by the name Chi anymore."

Several bodyguards rushed up behind Chi Yue, causing Yang Shulan to step back immediately, defensively guarding the entrance.

"Chi Yue, you rebel! Do you think you can just come here with a bunch of people and do as you please?"

"Have you seen me do anything improper?"

Far from leaving, Chi Yue stepped forward two more paces, "This is your house? Do you have a deed for it?"

Yang Shulan’s face changed slightly, "Will you leave or not? If you don’t, I’m calling the police."

"Perfect, I was also planning to ask the police about the whereabouts of my foster father, go ahead and call them," Chi Yue responded.

No sooner had her words fallen than someone behind her took out a phone to call the police.

Yang Shulan’s face went pale, she rushed forward trying to snatch the phone, but before she could get close, others stopped her, and she could only watch helplessly as the call was made.

Yang Shulan turned green with fury, "Family shame should not be spread abroad, and you... you call outsiders in to make a spectacle!"

Chi Yue smiled, "You and I are not family, and moreover, this is not your home. If you’re unwilling to resolve this peacefully, then let the police deal with you."

Yang Shulan cursed vehemently, "You bringer of bad luck, it’s all because of you my daughter ended up there, and I can’t enjoy my later years in peace!"

At that moment, a man about the same age as Chi Yue ran out of the house, his expression panicked as he came to Yang Shulan’s side, asking softly, "Dear, what’s happening? Who are these people?"

Yang Shulan spoke harshly, "They’re just a bunch of mad dogs here to collect debts. Go inside, I’ll be in shortly."

The man glanced at Chi Yue, feeling she looked familiar, and continued, "Why don’t we call the police?"

"What are you talking about, call the police to arrest you? Hurry inside, I’ll deal with this," she retorted.

"Now that you’re here, let’s have a chat together. Sir, may I ask your name?" Chi Yue said with a shallow smile, though her eyes didn’t reach the warmth of her lips.

The man suddenly remembered and pointed at Chi Yue, exclaiming, "Isn’t she that old bastard’s daughter?! Is she back for revenge?"
