Entangled with My Ex's Uncle
Chapter 405 Innocent

Chapter 405: Chapter 405 Innocent

As they looked into each other’s eyes, Chi Yue was the first to break away and close her eyes again.

"Awake? Is there any discomfort?"

Chi Yue opened her mouth to say something, but discovered she couldn’t make a sound.

The next second, Fu Rongyin handed her a cup, "Can you drink by yourself?"

Chi Yue sat up, took the cup, and after a drink of water, her throat finally felt relieved.

She put down the cup and was about to get out of bed when the man stopped her, "You can’t get out of bed now."

Chi Yue frowned, "I’m fine."

"Whether you’re fine or not isn’t for you to say."

Fu Rongyin dialed a number and said into the phone, "She’s awake."

Before long, a doctor appeared in the ward. After a check-up, he asked Chi Yue, "Have you ever been subjected to any trauma? Your fainting doesn’t seem to be a physical issue, but rather a problem with your mental state."

Chi Yue subconsciously clutched the blanket tighter, "I haven’t been traumatized. I fainted because I was too nervous."

The doctor looked at Fu Rongyin, whose expression was indifferent, "You can go ahead with your work."

After the doctor left, Chi Yue still insisted on getting out of bed.

Fu Rongyin said from behind her, "In your current state going there, you’ll only make people think you’re a patient."

Chi Yue didn’t understand.

Fu Rongyin gestured for her to look in the mirror.

Chi Yue went to the restroom, and upon seeing her reflection, her heart sank.

The woman in the mirror had messy hair, and her complexion and lips were deathly pale.

Chi Yue pursed her lips, walked out of the restroom, and after a moment of hesitation, she approached Fu Rongyin, "Why are you here?"

The man chuckled lightly, "I thought you wouldn’t ask me."

He took out a few photos and handed them to her, "Nan Yuan is back."

Chi Yue looked at them, and the photos were of Nan Yuan appearing at the doorstep with Fu Hanyan.

She looked at him emotionlessly, "What do you mean by showing me these?"

"Seeing your attitude, you must not know he’s back. Just letting you know," he said, leaving the photos on the bed as he left the ward.

Chi Yue stared at the photos left on the bed, her heart feeling heavily weighed down.

Nan Yuan had said that when he returned, he wanted her to tell him her decision. Now, it seemed she didn’t need to make that decision herself.

Nan Yuan arrived at the hospital two hours later.

Seeing Chi Yue’s complexion, Nan Yuan’s expression changed instantly, "What happened? They said you fainted?"

Chi Yue: "Yeah, I tried my best to control it, but it was no use..."

Nan Yuan became serious, "Chi Yue, your condition is serious. If this isn’t stopped..."

"I’m aware of my situation. As for you, it’s time you start making plans for yourself," she said.

Nan Yuan frowned, "What do you mean by that?"

"I know you’re still not over Miss Fu." Chi Yue paused for a moment, "That incident doesn’t really have much to do with her. To put it bluntly, whether I go to prison or not has no direct connection to her; she’s innocent as well."

Nan Yuan’s face darkened, "You know about my meeting with her yesterday?"

Chi Yue said nothing.

"Chi Yue, you should know what I’m thinking. It’s impossible between her and me," he said.

Chi Yue didn’t necessarily want Nan Yuan and Fu Hanyan to be tethered together, but from the angle of the photos, it was clear both of them harbored hidden feelings in their gaze.

If she were to forcibly break apart a couple because of herself, she would feel forever guilty.

With this thought, she continued, "I hope you think it over properly. After all, we aren’t truly husband and wife, and once the wedding takes place, it’ll be hard to call the whole thing off."

Nan Yuan didn’t answer but instead asked, "What about you? Have you thought it through?"
