Chapter 385: Chapter 385: You Remembered, Didn’t You?

She could distinctly feel the warmth emanating from his body, yet his breathing was so steady.

After an unknown period, Chi Yue withdrew her hand, "Okay, thank you."

The man retracted his hand but placed it on the washbasin, trapping her between himself and the basin.

Despite Chi Yue’s efforts to keep calm, her voice betrayed her.

"Please let me go."

The man turned her around to face him.

"Tell me, how much do you remember?"

Fu Rongyin had always found Chi Yue’s attitude towards him quite strange.

He had personally sent her to prison, yet her hatred for him did not seem as intense as he had imagined; other than deliberately avoiding him, she did not seem to wish to kill him.

He had never understood her attitude towards him until just now when he accidentally saw the box Chi Yue had placed on the coffee table.

At the same time, his hand extended in front of him, palm open, revealing a ruby necklace before her eyes.

Chi Yue’s pupils dilated abruptly, instinctively reaching for the necklace, only to find Fu Rongyin had anticipated this and pocketed the necklace, standing upright nonchalantly.

Chi Yue lowered her gaze, "Return my stuff to me."

"Chi Yue, you remembered, didn’t you?"

She remembered what she had done to him, which is why she felt guilty and did not repulse him as much.

Chi Yue moved to the gas stove and continued with her cooking, "I don’t know what you’re talking about."

Fu Rongyin watched her intently for a long moment, then casually carried two plates of food out and did not come back in.

Chi Yue’s mind was fixated on the ruby necklace.

It was what she had dug up in Nancheng three years ago.

She hadn’t expected that placing it casually on the coffee table would lead him to discover it.

However, as long as she firmly denied it, there was nothing he could do to her.

When Chi Yue walked out of the kitchen with the dishes, her mood had returned to normal. Upon seeing Fu Rongyin, there was no eye contact between them.

After the meal, Fu Mianmian showed no signs of leaving, but she couldn’t think of any excuse to stay.

Under Fu Rongyin’s gaze, she slowly shuffled her feet to leave.

The moment she stepped out the door, Fu Mianmian could not control herself and burst into loud crying.

Fu Rongyin hugged her and walked into the neighboring villa, shutting the door before consoling her, "If you feel aggrieved, you can cry, but after crying, you need to start figuring out how to achieve your goals."

Fu Mianmian cried even louder, "But I can’t think of anything, why did you make me so dumb?"

Fu Rongyin’s expression remained unchanged, "Perhaps you didn’t inherit my genes."

Fu Mianmian stopped crying and blinked at him, "You’re so smart, why don’t you go and win mommy back yourself? She has already become Nan Baixuan’s mommy, she won’t be my mommy anymore, wuu wuu wuu wuu..."

Fu Mianmian rarely cried, but whenever she did, it was hard to stop.

Initially Fu Rongyin coped well, but as Fu Mianmian showed no sign of stopping, he simply carried her out of the house.

When Chi Yue saw the father and daughter appear at her door again, she was perplexed.

Seeing her, Fu Mianmian cried even harder, desperately reaching out to Chi Yue.

After having Nan Baixuan, Chi Yue’s maternal instincts overflowed, and she could not bear to see a child cry, especially a chubby little girl.

She reached out and took Fu Mianmian into her arms, asking, "What happened, crying so heartbreakingly?"

Fu Mianmian clung to her neck and cried even more miserably, unable to utter a word.

Just then, Nan Yuan returned.
