The man wiped her tears with an expressionless face and said something that looked like he was comforting her.

Chi Yue lowered her gaze, seemingly lost in thought.

Taking Nan Baixuan with them, they couldn’t possibly live in a hotel forever, so after discussing with Nan Yuan, Chi Yue decided to move into the newly purchased house.

The next day, Chi Yue made a trip to the hospital to confirm Bai Bixuan was fine before she went shopping for daily necessities.

She was busy until it got dark before she finished setting up the house.

Nan Yuan mentioned that tomorrow was the weekend and planned to take Nan Baixuan to Mr. Nan and Mother Nan’s place, so she simply stayed in the new house.

During the night, Chi Yue slept in a daze and vaguely saw someone by her bed. She woke up instantly but on closer inspection, where was anyone?

Chi Yue turned on the light and sat at the head of the bed, too scared to sleep again.

She held out until dawn was slightly breaking before she couldn’t resist and collapsed on the bed.

After an unknown amount of time, the door was opened, and a tall man walked slowly to her side, gently passing his large hand over her long hair and resting it on her forehead.

But after lightly touching her, he withdrew his hand and turned to leave.

Chi Yue was awakened by Nan Yuan’s phone call. He said there was an important banquet to attend that evening, and as he couldn’t make it back, he asked her to represent him.

The company was founded by Nan Yuan and Chi Yue together, so Chi Yue didn’t refuse.

At night, she appeared at the banquet.

To avoid attracting too much attention, she purposely chose a corner to sit down.

Chu Shuo sat beside her, his eyes smiling, "Chi Yue, I’ve been waiting for over three years. I’m glad you didn’t disappoint me."

Everyone believed she was dead back then, even Fu Rongyin locked himself up for days like a madman, except for him, who carried on as usual, eating and drinking.

When others asked about Chi Yue, he would nonchalantly say, "Whoever dies, Chi Yue won’t."

Seeing an old friend after so long, to say there were no ripples in her heart would certainly be false.

Only Chi Yue showed no expression and simply said, "Long time no see."

Chu Shuo still had that arrogant demeanor, "Yes, so long that if you hadn’t shown up, I would have started to doubt my judgement."

Chi Yue pressed her lips together, not sure how to continue the conversation.

She was afraid Chu Shuo would ask about the past, and she was equally afraid of learning something from him that she didn’t want to know.

Luckily, Chu Shuo didn’t ask anything but instead talked to her about work.

He said, "I hear your company is starting research in the biotechnology field. What do you think, is there any chance for me to partner with you?"

Chi Yue replied earnestly, "I remember your family is not involved in this industry."

"It seems you still don’t know, I’ve already left my family and started my own business. Oh, right, it’s the familiar field of paternity testing."

Chi Yue didn’t understand.

Chu Shuo smiled, "It’s still your inspiration. Ever since you left that studio, people around me couldn’t find someone trustworthy for this kind of issue, so I took matters into my own hands."

Because he said, "Without you, Old Five closed down the studio."

This was the first time tonight that Chu Shuo mentioned Fu Rongyin in front of her, and Chi Yue’s first impulse was to stand up.

Xi Yihang moved closer, "My patience is limited. Tell me, where is Nan Bingyu."
