Chapter 365: His Child

Chapter 365: Chapter 365: His Child

Chi Yue chuckled lightly, "Did you get naughty again?"

Little Bud stretched out two small arms from Nan Yuan’s embrace, "Mommy, hug."

Chi Yue lifted him into her arms, took the clothes from Nan Yuan, and put them on him.

"Did you find a house?" Nan Yuan asked.

"Yes, I’ve already bought it."

"That quickly?"

Thinking back to the events that occurred during the house purchasing that day, Chi Yue also found it unbelievably smooth. However, it was in an affluent area—perhaps she had just encountered a forthright wealthy person.

She briefly described what happened that day, then added, "Tomorrow I’ll finish the remaining procedures and buy some things. Then we can move in."

Nan Yuan nodded, "Do you want me to come with you?"

"I can go by myself."

Nan Yuan didn’t insist.

Since she had chosen to face this by herself, having him intervene all the time was not a solution.

The next day, Nan Yuan was responsible for taking the child to the early childhood education center, while Chi Yue went alone to handle the paperwork at the property management center.

After taking a number, she called Little Plump Girl. Little Plump Girl said she was not feeling well, and her daddy had already gone to her.

Chi Yue gave a couple of instructions then hung up. After waiting a while, a long figure appeared in front of her.

Chi Yue looked up, her pupils shrinking abruptly.

She had not seen him clearly that night. Now, looking closely, she realized that even though the man looked the same as in her memory, his aura had substantially changed; he had become more reserved.

Turbulent waves surged in Chi Yue’s heart, but her face remained expressionless. Her gaze lingered on his face for a moment, then coldly shifted away.

The service counter called her number. She walked over, but the man followed her.

Chi Yue completely ignored the man behind her. While filling out the forms, a large hand suddenly reached out from behind her to take the documents. Inevitably, she could not restrain herself.

"Mr. Fu, is there something you need?" she asked.

The man’s eyes were deep, "Yes."

Chi Yue asked, "Would you mind waiting until I’m done here?"

The man paused, "Are you sure?"

Chi Yue continued filling out the forms without paying him any attention.

Late in the process, when it was the seller’s turn to fill out the information, Chi Yue turned back to look for Little Plump Girl’s father.

Fu Rongyin stood just a meter behind her. "Are you looking for me?"

Chi Yue withdrew her gaze, messaged Little Plump Girl to ask for her father’s number, and Little Plump Girl quickly sent her one. Chi Yue dialed the number, and a moment later, a ringtone sounded behind her.

Chi Yue instinctively turned back and saw Fu Rongyin answer the phone and bring it to his ear.

"Hello, could I please speak to..."

"It’s me."

Chi Yue: "..."

She looked expressionlessly at the man in front of her, and it took her a moment to realize that the person selling the house was actually Fu Rongyin!

That meant Fu Rongyin was Little Plump Girl’s father.

Unexpectedly, three years had passed and his child had grown so much.

Chi Yue calmly pocketed her phone. "Please come over to complete the procedures."

Fu Rongyin strode to her side, his large hand sweeping across as he signed his full name, ensuring all procedures were completed. Without even a goodbye, he walked away briskly.

Chi Yue methodically gathered the documents, called Nan Yuan, and emotionlessly said, "Nan Yuan, the paperwork is all done, but I might not move in."

Nan Yuan was surprised, "What happened?"

"The house belongs to Fu Rongyin."

On the phone, Nan Yuan was shocked, "How did that happen? Where are you now? I’ll come pick you up."

"No need, I just need some time to calm down."

"Alright, find a place to rest for a while. I’ll come get you later."

"Mm."

Memories flooded over her, and for a moment, Chi Yue felt she could hardly breathe.

She thought she had prepared herself to face him, but when she actually did, she realized how unsettled she truly was.

Before she had any time to process her emotions, Mrs. Bai Senior called her, urging her to come home quickly.

On the phone, Mrs. Bai Senior’s voice trembled, clearly distressed.

Chi Yue immediately took a cab home.

As she entered the house, an uncontrollable shriek resonated from the living room.

"Your whole family are liars, liars! Didn’t you say Chi Yue was dead? She’s clearly not dead, you hid her! Now that you see I’m about to marry Fu Rongyin, you couldn’t wait to bring her back. This is your Bai family’s conspiracy, isn’t it?"
