Entangled with My Ex's Uncle
Chapter 331: Disheartened

Chapter 331: Chapter 331: Disheartened

Yin Qiuheng and Situ Mingfan exchanged looks, fully aware of the implications.

Fu Rongyin undoubtedly wanted to discuss the marriage matter.

Fu Rongyin never acknowledged the marriage, but he still attended Situ En’s wedding today.

Sure enough, his next words were, "Our Fu Family holds a strict household discipline. If the young lady insists on marrying into our family, not only will she endure loneliness, but she will also face restrictions from all aspects. Such a temperament is not allowed in our family. For the young lady’s sake, let’s call off this marriage. I have already reported today’s events to my parents truthfully."

Wei’an’s face turned deathly pale upon hearing this, but she was unable to utter a single word.

Situ Mingfan stepped forward and patted Fu Rongyin on the shoulder, "It seems we are not destined to be together."

This was an acknowledgment of Fu Rongyin’s words.

Wei’an was forcibly taken away, marking the end of the farce, yet irreparable damage had been left on some individuals.

Nan Yuan dragged Fu Rongyin into a corner and punched him, scoffing, "You used her to break off the engagement. Did you ever consider how much harm you’ve caused her? Fu Rongyin, I’ve lost all respect for you."

After saying this, Nan Yuan walked away leaving no chance for Fu Rongyin to retaliate.

Chi Yue went home to sleep, changed her clothes, and then went to the evening party.

As she stepped out of the main door, she saw a car parked next to her and a tall figure standing by it, a cigarette sandwiched between his long fingers.

On the ground before him, there was a pile of extinguished cigarette butts.

Chi Yue paused briefly then walked past him without turning her head.

After two steps, someone grabbed her arm.

Chi Yue struggled to free herself, to no avail, and said coldly, "Let go."

The man tightened his grip slightly, pulling her into his embrace.

A deep, magnetic voice sounded above her head, "I have broken off the engagement with her."

Chi Yue remained still and silent.

"Are you angry?"

Chi Yue, "No."

Fu Rongyin urged her to look up but found her calm, serene eyes, just as she said, she really wasn’t angry.

Fu Rongyin spoke again, "I’ve booked the tickets, will you come with me?"

Chi Yue finally pushed him away, "You go ahead, I still have things to handle here."

She crossed the street to where the bodyguard’s car was parked.

Chi Yue opened the car door and got in, not once looking back at Fu Rongyin.

Upon reaching the entrance of the Situ Family’s house, Nan Yuan and Mrs. Bai Senior were already waiting there.

Chi Yue walked up to them, "Grandma, Nan Yuan, why did you come out to wait?"

"Isn’t it because we were afraid you wouldn’t dare to come in?"

Chi Yue smiled, "I’m not that frail."

The three of them walked towards the interior as Mrs. Bai Senior, ever talkative, relayed the events that had happened after her departure, adding, "Don’t mind others’ opinions of you, as long as you have a clear conscience, that’s enough."

"I know, Grandma, don’t worry about me."

The party was held in the Situ Family’s backyard, each area meticulously set up.

Mrs. Bai Senior played for a while before leaving, remarking that the entertainments were for the younger crowd and not to her taste.

Nan Yuan stayed by Chi Yue’s side, and after much internal struggle, he finally asked, "Now that they’ve canceled the engagement, what are your plans?"

"I have no plans," Chi Yue said, her eyes downcast, lost in thought.

Nan Yuan said, "If you want, I can take you away from here."

Chi Yue shook her head, "There’s no need. I’ll think about it once I’ve sorted everything out here."

"Chi Yue, you..."

Catching a glimpse of something out of the corner of his eye, Nan Yuan quickly pulled Chi Yue behind him, his lips pursed as he faced Wei’an.

Wei’an was holding a glass of red wine, standing exactly where Chi Yue had just been, with obvious intentions.

But the wine never reached Chi Yue, as Situ En had timely grabbed Wei’an’s hand.

"Wei’an, if you continue to behave so recklessly, I will discipline you on behalf of our parents," Situ En warned.

Wei’an switched the glass to her other hand and splashed it towards Situ En’s face.

All at once, silence fell around them.

Wei’an threw the glass to the ground, scoffing, "Discipline me on behalf of our parents? Who do you think you are, how can you discipline me in place of my parents?"

Bai Bixuan and Si Tu’s parents rushed over, shocked by the scene.

Bai Bixuan wiped the wine from Situ En’s face, his clothes irrecoverable. She asked, "Do you want to change your clothes?"

Situ En shook his head and, pulling her closely behind him, he looked sternly at Wei’an, "Repeat what you just said!"

Wei’an repeated her earlier words, then continued, "You and I have no blood relation; you’re not my parents’ biological son. Why do you think you can discipline me?"
