Fu Hanyan caught sight of them and quickly released Nan Yuan’s hand, then walked up to Fu Rongyin.

"Brother, why did you come too?"

"If I didn’t come, how would I have learned that you two are back together?"

Fu Hanyan’s face flushed with embarrassment as she explained in a low voice, "Nan Bingyu has gone missing, Nan Yuan is here alone, so I..."

"So you want to play the good person and help him find her? Fu Hanyan, do you have the ability to do that?"

Fu Hanyan looked down, "I just want to help share some of the burden."

"Go back! If you don’t want them to know about it then go back right now."

After Fu Rongyin finished speaking, he turned his gaze toward Nan Yuan, "He’s a grown man; he doesn’t need you."

The words were still meant for Fu Hanyan, her head hung even lower, yet she still refused to let it go.

Chi Yue couldn’t stand it anymore, tugged on Fu Rongyin’s sleeve, and said in a lowered voice, "Cut it out, will you? Let’s go eat. I’m starving."

Fu Rongyin glanced at her as a warning, but Chi Yue acted as if she couldn’t see his hint and pulled him away.

Inside the private dining room, Fu Rongyin said expressionlessly, "You sure have become a lot bolder."

"It’s all from hanging out with you," Chi Yue said, "Miss Fu isn’t so young anymore; you should at least give her some face in front of others."

"Now you’re talking about giving face? If she embarrasses the one at home, do you think she’ll be any more relaxed than she is now?"

Chi Yue: "If you don’t say anything, won’t nobody know?"

Fu Rongyin ominously said, "I don’t even know when the two of you got so close."

Chi Yue glared at him, "Are you going to let me eat or not?"

Eventually, Fu Rongyin didn’t say anything further. While Chi Yue was ordering food, he took out his phone and sent a few messages, but who knows to whom.

During the meal, Chi Yue excused herself to the restroom and in the hallway, she ran into Nan Yuan.

"Chi Yue," Nan Yuan greeted her first, "You’re still with him."

Chi Yue neither confirmed nor denied but brought up something else, "Xiao Yu should be in the hands of Xi Yihang, she will be fine. I will find a way to convince Fu Rongyin to help get her out."

Nan Yuan’s eyes looked complicated, "If it requires you to give up something in return, I’d rather spend more time looking for her myself."

Chi Yue sighed, "We’re not making a deal, I’m doing this willingly. You could dig deeper into Xi Yihang. He’s not as simple as he appears on the surface."

"Chi Yue, do you see a future with him?" Nan Yuan asked.

Chi Yue calmly replied, "For me, the future is too intangible, what’s most important is to grasp the present."

Chi Yue, afraid of staying out too long in case Fu Rongyin would come looking for her, quickly made her excuses and prepared to leave.

Nan Yuan continued asking, "Are you with him to unravel the truth behind your lost memories, right? Chi Yue, finding the truth doesn’t have to be done this way."

Chi Yue left without looking back.

Back in the private dining room, Fu Rongyin was on a call, but he put away his phone when he saw her come in.

Chi Yue picked up her bag, "Let’s go."

Fu Rongyin’s eyes were dark and indiscernible, but quickly returned to normal.

The two of them returned to Chi Yue’s apartment. At her front door, Chu Shuo was pacing back and forth.

On seeing them, Chu Shuo chuckled, "So you went out on a date, no wonder you’ve been out of sight for half the day."

Chi Yue walked to the door without changing her expression, "Do you need something?"

"Nope, just thought I’d drop by for a meal, but seeing you two like this, I guess you already ate, right?"

Fu Rongyin: "Are you unable to afford food?"

Chu Shuo: "That’s why we’re brothers, you get me. Just a bit short on money, can’t help it."

Chi Yue went in first, followed by Fu Rongyin, and Chu Shuo tried to follow them inside but was stopped by Fu Rongyin, "It’s not convenient for you to come in."

"Why is it not convenient for me?"

Fu Rongyin ignored his challenge and slammed the door shut in his face.

Chi Yue stood behind Fu Rongyin, "He could have something for you; can’t you be a little patient?"

Fu Rongyin reached out his long arm and pulled her into his embrace, "Let him in to watch our live performance, is that it?"

As his voice trailed off, he had already kissed her, and gradually, his hands started to wander.

Chi Yue bit her lip and dared not make a sound because she heard Chu Shuo making a phone call just outside the door.
