Chapter 306: Chapter 306: True Feelings Moved

Chi Yue looked at him, "Is it appropriate for you to answer?"

Fu Rongyin replied, "Otherwise, what do you think I am here for?"

With that, he took his phone to the balcony and closed the door.

"Yueyue, what’s going on between you and Fu Rongyin?"

Chi Yue calmly said, "Just what you are thinking."

Nan Bingyu frowned, "He has a fiancée and there’s also Ling Jiayu. Following him like this, what if you get sick?"

Chi Yue’s mouth twitched, "Your focus is quite peculiar."

Nan Bingyu said seriously, "I’m not joking, Yueyue, have you really thought this through?"

"I have my boundaries; don’t worry."

Just as Nan Bingyu was about to say something, Fu Rongyin came back in and handed the phone to Chi Yue.

Chi Yue asked, "What did he say?"

Fu Rongyin did not answer, "You stay here, I need to leave for a bit."

Chi Yue pressed on, "Is Xi Yihang coming over?"

"He wouldn’t dare."

Chi Yue felt relieved.

He had answered Xi Yihang’s call just to let Xi Yihang know he was here. If Xi Yihang was still rational, he wouldn’t dare conflict with Fu Rongyin under such circumstances.

After Fu Rongyin left, Chi Yue then asked Nan Bingyu, "Xiao Yu, tell me the truth; are you still in contact with Xi Yihang?"

Nan Bingyu lowered her eyes in silence.

Chi Yue sighed lightly, "We still don’t know what Xi Yihang’s intentions are. But Xiao Yu, him being so hidden around you, we can’t be sure if he has other motives."

"I know." Nan Bingyu said with self-mockery, "I can’t believe I fell for that kind of man. Do you think I’m terrible?"

Chi Yue’s heart jolted.

Nan Bingyu had been with many people, yet it was the first time she’d admitted to having real feelings—indicating Xi Yihang was special to her.

Gathering her composure, Chi Yue said, "Xi Yihang isn’t that bad. Don’t forget, he’s a very good lawyer; your judgment isn’t flawed."

"If you really want to comfort me, take me to see some handsome men. I will get over him quickly."

The more Nan Bingyu tried to act nonchalant, the more Chi Yue worried about her.

"Alright, alright, no need for such a long face. I’m going to sleep for a bit. When I wake up, I’ll take you clubbing."

"Okay, I’ll make something to eat and call you when it’s ready."

"Fine, wake me up in an hour."

Chi Yue looked through the fridge and found it empty. She thought for a moment and decided to go to the nearby supermarket to buy some groceries.

While walking back from the supermarket, Chi Yue felt someone was following her. On guard, she turned a corner to a busier street.

The feeling of being followed didn’t vanish. Chi Yue clenched her fists and suddenly turned around.

At that moment, her expression was one of shock.

"Chu Shuo?"

Behind her, long-time no-see Chu Shuo looked at her with a half-smile, "Good thing I wasn’t too close, or your fist would have hit my face."

Chi Yue held her forehead, "I didn’t know it was you."

"Good reflexes." His gaze fell on the shopping bag in her hand, "Heading home to cook?"

Chi Yue nodded, "When did you get back?"

"Got back yesterday. I was just wandering around today and didn’t expect to run into you."

Chi Yue hesitated for a moment, "I’m sorry, if it hadn’t been for me, you wouldn’t have had to go abroad."

Chu Shuo looked puzzled.

She said, "If it hadn’t been for me, Fu Rongyin wouldn’t have sent you abroad for so long. I’m sorry..."

"Wait, who told you it was Number Five who sent me abroad?" Chu Shuo interrupted her.

Chi Yue countered, "Isn’t it?"

Chu Shuo suddenly laughed, "Then you really misunderstood him."
