Chapter 294: Chapter 294: Fu Rongyin, you still like me, right?
"It’s good that there isn’t. It’s still early, I’ll take you back in an hour."
The man’s kiss came overwhelmingly, causing Yueyue’s heart to tremble.
An hour later, the two of them left the house, and Yueyue walked out in a sulk, refusing to look at him.
Fu Rongyin took a box out of the storage compartment and handed it to her.
"What’s this?"
Yueyue opened it, inside was a badge featuring two little festive figurines.
Yueyue showed a peculiar expression, "Did you pick this?"
"Keep it safe; you won’t find another one like it if you lose it."
Yueyue raised an eyebrow, "Is it a limited edition?"
Fu Rongyin didn’t answer but brought up another matter, "Situ Wei’an was someone I had arranged to go over, if you don’t like seeing her, just assign her a position where you don’t cross paths."
Yueyue secured the badge, "The boss asked me to take good care of his fiancee, how could I not listen?"
Fu Rongyin narrowed his eyes, "Yueyue, I am not engaged to her."
Though not engaged, Situ Wei’an was going around telling everyone she was Fu Rongyin’s fiancee—she must have settled on Fu Rongyin.
Her eyes slightly raised, "Are you planning to use Ling Jiayu against Situ Wei’an?"
Fu Rongyin remained non-committal.
Yueyue thought about what Ling Jiayu had told her and couldn’t help but say, "Ling Jiayu doesn’t think so."
"What she thinks doesn’t affect me."
Yueyue didn’t speak further, remaining moody throughout the ride.
The car stopped in front of a villa, and as Yueyue was about to get out, Fu Rongyin pulled her back, "Still sulking, huh?"
"Fu Rongyin, you took that photo, right?" Yueyue suddenly asked.
A fleeting change crossed Fu Rongyin’s eyes, "What photo?"
"My high school photo."
"I haven’t seen it."
"Fu Rao said that he found that photo in your room, Fu Rongyin, you still like me, don’t you?"
Fu Rongyin slowly curled his lips, the smile at the corner of his mouth meaningful, "Like it or not, you can’t regret it."
He was alluding to their agreement.
Yueyue couldn’t get more information from him and simply stopped asking.
Upon entering, Yueyue encountered Bai Dongyang at the foyer.
She didn’t know what he had seen or how long he had been watching; after greeting him, she walked inside.
"Who was that person who dropped you off?"
Yueyue: "A friend."
"Boyfriend?"
Yueyue stopped, "Uncle, you don’t like my mom, and I don’t ask you to be particularly nice to me, but please don’t interfere with my freedom to choose my friends."
"Freedom to choose your friends? Do you know what kind of people you are associating with?"
"I know."
Bai Dongyang’s lips thinned, "You’ve been entangled with a man for so many years and still can’t break it off—is this your principle of making friends?"
"Dongyang!" Mrs. Bai Senior appeared behind them suddenly.
She was in a wheelchair, pushed by Bai Bixuan.
"How many times have I told you not to meddle in Yueyue’s affairs? If you have nothing else to do, go back to Hai City; there’s a pile of things waiting for you to deal with."
Bai Dongyang’s face turned cold, "If you keep being stubborn, she’s going to end up like her mother!"
"Damn it! You don’t need to worry about their mother and daughter! Xiao Xuan, go pack his things."
"No need for the trouble, Xiao Xuan, since we’re not welcome here, come back with me."
Bai Bixuan pressed her lips together, remaining silent for a long time.
In the end, Bai Dongyang left abruptly.
Mrs. Bai Senior was furious, saying to Yueyue, "Don’t listen to him; he’s always like this. Take a day off tomorrow; the Situ Family are coming over for dinner."
Yueyue looked helpless, "Grandma, I’m not in a hurry to get married, you don’t need to go to all this trouble."
Mrs. Bai Senior left no room for refusal, "That settles it then; Xiao Xuan, take me back to my room."
"Yes, Grandma."
Yueyue returned to Bai Qing’s room, closed the door, and her expression darkened.
Perhaps it was Bai Qing’s tragedy that now fueled Mrs. Bai Senior’s obsession with her marriage.
From Bai Dongyang’s words, one could piece together that Bai Qing had once defied her family, had someone in her heart, and had been forced into an arranged marriage with Chi Jianshan.
The senior members of the Bai Family knew who Yueyue’s biological father was but nobody had told her; this also meant that both Mrs. Bai Senior and Bai Dongyang harbored hatred toward that man.
A knock at the door pulled Yueyue’s thoughts back; Bai Bixuan walked in.
"Yueyue, I have something to tell you."
Yueyue looked at her, "You want to tell me to accept Grandma’s arrangement and marry into the Situ Family?"
"No." Bai Bixuan said, "I want you to refuse to marry into the Situ Family. Situ En was the one I had my eye on first."
