Entangled with My Ex's Uncle
Chapter 249: His Proposal

Chapter 249: Chapter 249: His Proposal

Fu Rongyin seemed to have not had enough fun yet, and scooped her back into his arms.

Chi Yue symbolically pushed him but couldn’t push him away, so she just let him be.

In her drowsy state, he seemed to say something, but she was too tired to hear it clearly and fell asleep.

When she woke up the next day, Fu Rongyin was making breakfast in the kitchen.

Chi Yue’s mind was a bit slow to react. "You... why haven’t you left?"

"Come have breakfast."

Chi Yue followed him to the dining table. She wanted to say something harsh, but when she saw the table was full of her favorite foods, the words died on her lips.

As the saying goes, one is short-handed when accepting others’ kindness, so she didn’t say anything to Fu Rongyin until after breakfast, and even got into his car without rejecting his offer.

Downstairs at the company building, Chi Yue got out of the car, thanked him, and turned around only to see a woman standing behind her, watching her intently.

The look was so intense that she couldn’t ignore it.

But when Chi Yue looked back, the woman averted her gaze and went upstairs.

Chi Yue, puzzled, stood by the roadside for a while before going upstairs.

The manager called out to her. "Mr. Chi, this is Miss Situ who came by reputation. She is looking for you."

It was the same woman Chi Yue had seen downstairs.

Taken aback by the realization it was her, she lifted her chin. "You are Chi Yue?"

"Yes, what can I do for you?"

Situ Wei’an scrutinized her and took out a small bag containing a fingernail. "Is this enough for an appraisal?"

Chi Yue: "Yes."

"Then please do an appraisal for me with this fingernail."

Chi Yue took it and handed her a form. "Please fill out the information."

Situ Wei’an didn’t take it. "There’s no need for that. I’ll just wait here for the results. It shouldn’t be a problem."

She was unwilling, and Chi Yue did not insist.

People who come here all have their own hidden motives, concealing something more or less. As an appraiser, Chi Yue had no right to pry into the stories behind the results.

Chi Yue took the sample and went into the lab, only coming out when the results were ready.

As expected, Situ Wei’an hadn’t left.

She approached, "How did it go? Are the results out?"

"They’re out," Chi Yue handed them over.

Situ Wei’an flipped directly to the results page and frowned. "What does it mean by ’biological father-son relationship’?"

"It means that the owners of these two samples are biologically related."

Situ Wei’an’s frown deepened even more. "How can they possibly be father and son? I demand a retest!"

Chi Yue patiently explained, "Usually, there’s no error in such results, and I have confidence in what I do. If you’re still not reassured, you might consider having the tests done by another institution."

Situ Wei’an was unhappy. "It’s not like I’m not paying you!"

"It’s not a matter of money. No matter how many times you test it here, it will be the same result. If you’re only doubting these results, you are welcome to seek verification from other agencies. If two out of three agencies agree, then that’s the correct result."

Unless two of the institutions decide to please the client by only giving the desired results.

Chi Yue came to work here because of this service principle.

They uphold only one truth.

But Situ Wei’an didn’t see it that way.

She scoffed coldly, "I suspect you’re settling personal scores! You must know that I’m engaged to Fu Rongyin, so you’re targeting me, right?"

Chi Yue was startled. Was Fu Rongyin getting engaged again?

No wonder she had looked at her that way downstairs.
