"We need to talk," Nan Yuan said, "I drank too much last night and did something irrational. I hope you can see this matter rationally."

Fu Hanyan, "How would one rationally view this situation? For example?"

Nan Yuan, "We’re both adults. If you want me to take responsibility, it’s not impossible, but would your family agree?"

Nan Yuan didn’t take too long to respond, "Sorry, I can’t marry you."

Fu Hanyan said regretfully, "Then there’s no deal to be made. You should go, don’t let others see you here."

Fu Hanyan, wrapped in a bathrobe, got out of bed and walked towards the bathroom unabashedly.

Nan Yuan knew she meant she didn’t need him to take responsibility.

This was for the best; he need not feel too conflicted anymore.

However, as he turned to leave, his gaze suddenly fell upon a spot of bright red on the bedsheets, and his pupils contracted sharply.

Fu Hanyan stood in front of the bathroom mirror, her well-proportioned face bereft of any smile.

After all these years, she had finally got him, but he still was unwilling to marry her.
