Chapter 234: Chapter 234 Vague Memories

Chi Yue had never truly loathed Fu Rongyin, at most finding him despicable, but at this moment, she could clearly sense that Fu Rongyin was toying with her.

"Is this fun for you?" she asked.

"I don’t have time to play with you," Fu Rongyin rose to his feet heading for the master bedroom, "Remember to close the door when you leave."

Chi Yue stood in the living room, staring at the tightly shut bedroom door.

She didn’t know how much time had passed before she slowly lifted her feet and entered the master bedroom.

Fu Rongyin had taken off his coat, his long fingers leisurely unbuttoning his shirt.

He faced the door, able to see her entering from outside.

"Is there something else?" His voice betrayed no hint of emotion.

"One night in exchange for one favor, is that enough?"

Fu Rongyin’s long fingers paused, his thin lips curved slightly, "Is such a big issue really worth only one night?"

Chi Yue clenched her fists, "Fu Rongyin, don’t go too far."

"You don’t have to take this path."

Chi Yue didn’t speak after that.

She wasn’t in a hurry, so Fu Rongyin was even less so.

His shirt buttons all undone, revealing evenly muscled contours, he casually tossed the shirt aside and reached for his belt, just as Chi Yue’s voice came:

"One week. If you’re unwilling, I can find someone else."

Fu Rongyin glanced at her and headed for the bathroom, "Then let’s start now."

Chi Yue frowned, "Are you in such a rush?"

"After all, I only have a week. I can’t afford a bad deal."

Soon the sound of water echoed from the bathroom.

After an indeterminate amount of time, Chi Yue finally stepped into the bathroom.

In this silent face-off, she lost to Fu Rongyin once again.

The next day.

Chi Yue was awakened by the ringtone of her cell phone. She reached out frowning to silence it but someone beat her to it.

The man pressed the answer button.

Chi Yue could only hear the familiar voice say, "She’s still asleep."

That voice...

Chi Yue abruptly opened her eyes, locking onto a pair of deep eyes.

Chi Yue’s gaze sharpened, and she subconsciously sat up, hurriedly slipping into her clothes.

The gaze from behind was so intense that she felt like sitting on pins and needles, forcing her to speed up.

Once she managed to put on her clothes, she heard rustling noises behind her.

Chi Yue wanted to flee, but reason held her feet in place.

The noise behind her finally ceased and turning her head, she saw he had already dressed.

"Can you tell me now?"

Fu Rongyin leisurely tightened his tie, "After being detained for several days, Fu Rao will be sent overseas and won’t come back."

Chi Yue furrowed her brow. The outcome wasn’t perfect, but for now, it was the best solution.

But...

"What does the car accident have to do with my mom?"

Fu Rongyin strode out with long legs, "One night for one condition, two for a week. Come ask me after seven days."

Chi Yue felt instantly deceived by him, but apart from trusting him, she had no other option.

At noon, Nan Yuan invited her for lunch and asked about Fu Rao.

Chi Yue said indifferently, "It’s been dealt with, there shouldn’t be any major issues."

Nan Yuan wanted to ask more when he caught sight of the mark on her neck, like taking a punch to the gut, swallowing down his resentment.

Hadn’t he guessed as much when she said she was going to see Fu Rongyin?

"Nan Yuan," Chi Yue suddenly called out to him, "When is Situ En coming back?"

Nan Yuan collected his thoughts, answering, "I called him yesterday. He said it’ll be about half a month."

Chi Yue nodded, "If he comes back, please let me know in advance."

"Okay. Don’t rush things, this is not something that can be settled in a day or two. We need to ensure there are no accidents."

Chi Yue looked downward, "I used to think that if I forgot that part of my memories, it wouldn’t affect my life. But now I’ve discovered that within those hazy memories I can’t recall, there are many, many important things. All these things are slowly surfacing, yet I can’t remember any of it."

Nan Yuan suddenly felt a panic, "Did Fu Rongyin say something to you?"

"No, I heard it by accident."

Nan Yuan wanted to continue asking but Chi Yue’s ringtone interrupted him.

He was surprised to find that Chi Yue had a spare phone.

She took the phone, answered the call without a word, and after a while, she hung up and stood up, "Sorry, I have something else. Let’s meet up another time."

Nan Yuan couldn’t say a word before he saw Chi Yue walk to the door and get into a car.

It was Fu Rongyin’s car.
