Entangled with My Ex's Uncle
Chapter 226 Should Be Forgiven?

Chapter 226: Chapter 226 Should Be Forgiven?

Ten years ago, she was also forced to go abroad because of Nan Yuan.

Clearly, there was no way for the two to come to an agreement today.

Chi Yue stood up, "Then there’s no point in continuing this conversation."

"Wait, Chi Yue, have you...forgiven me?"

Chi Yue, "Do you think you deserve forgiveness?"

Leaving those words behind, Chi Yue left without looking back.

When she returned to her apartment, she took out the box she cherished and opened it.

Inside were a pair of dolls.

She took the dolls out and scrutinized them for a long time, searching for some clue, but even as her eyes grew sore, she found no useful information.

Finding nothing, she put everything away neatly again.

She hadn’t eaten anything today and was preparing to make something for herself.

The bowl had just been set on the table when someone knocked on the door.

Chi Yue walked to the door and asked through it, "Who is it?"

The voice outside was very deep, "It’s me."

Chi Yue paused, "I’m resting, if you have something to say, let’s talk tomorrow."

There was no sound from outside the door.

After a while, Chi Yue looked through the peephole and saw an arrogant man quietly gazing at the peephole.

Those hawk-like phoenix eyes seemed to be piercing through the peephole, straight into her heart.

Chi Yue’s fair face showed no change in emotion, after standing for a moment, she turned and returned to the dining table.

Nan Bingyu called to say that a high school classmate was getting married and invited them to attend the wedding, but she did not know Chi Yue’s address, so she took the invitation for her.

Chi Yue said, "You can just give me the invitation later."

Nan Bingyu, "Alright, I’m near your house right now, I’ll bring it over to you."

Half an hour later, Chi Yue was sitting on the sofa watching TV when she suddenly heard a sharp scream from outside the door.

Then Nan Bingyu’s voice followed.

"Are you trying to scare me to death? Don’t you know scaring someone can really cause death?"

Chi Yue hurried to open the door and saw Nan Bingyu pressing her hand against her chest, leaning against the wall with a face scared beyond measure.

Upon seeing Chi Yue, she ran over, "Yueyue, why didn’t you tell me there was someone at your door? I was almost scared to death."

Only then did Chi Yue follow Nan Bingyu’s gaze and stopped short.

Fu Rongyin hadn’t left.

From the time he knocked on the door until now, nearly an hour had passed, and he was still here.

Chi Yue did not react, but Nan Bingyu already spoke up.

"Fifth Young Master Fu, are you a human or a ghost? If you are a human, make a noise."

Fu Rongyin, "Sorry."

Nan Bingyu exhaled a breath, walked into the house first, and didn’t forget to complain, "Thank goodness I have a thick skin. Anyone else would have been scared out of their wits..."

Chi Yue glanced at Fu Rongyin, turned around to enter the house, but didn’t close the door behind her.

Inside, Nan Bingyu put the invitation on the coffee table, "I’ve brought you the invitation. It’s this weekend. I’ll come to pick you up then."

Chi Yue walked over to her, "Okay."

Catching a glimpse of Fu Rongyin also coming in, Nan Bingyu furrowed her brows. She intended to hurl a few sarcastic remarks at him but then thought about how her brother had taken up his hero’s identity, and the words she was about to say were swallowed back.

She puckered her lips, "Don’t even think about driving me away. I’m staying over tonight."

Fu Rongyin had also sat down on a sofa nearby, his presence in no way overshadowed by Nan Bingyu’s.

Chi Yue looked from one to the other, massaging her temples, "Xiao Yu..."

Nan Bingyu immediately stood up, "I was just kidding. I don’t want to get involved in your mess. I’m leaving now. I’ll come to pick you up this weekend."

As her words ended, Nan Bingyu had already walked out and closed the door behind her.

For a moment, there were only two people left in the house.

Chi Yue saw his gaze linger on the bowl on the dining table that hadn’t been cleared to the kitchen yet. She asked, "Have you eaten yet?"

Fu Rongyin, "Not yet."

"I’ll make something for you, just sit for a while."

Chi Yue boiled water and put the noodles into the pot, suddenly regretting having let him stay.

Ever since she learned that Fu Rongyin was not the instigator behind her pregnancy incident, Chi Yue’s resentment towards him had dissipated quite a bit.

She also knew that Fu Rongyin’s avoidance was due to the protection of Fu Hanyan.

But all of this didn’t mean that Fu Rongyin would let her leave.

Just then, she heard footsteps behind her.
