Answering the phone, Fu Rongyin asked, "Where are you?"

Chi Yue: "In the hospital."

"I’ll be home for dinner tonight."

Chi Yue glanced at the time, "Alright, I’ll make dinner."

As she walked out of the break room, she saw Nan Yuan and Situ En talking in low voices, both looking very serious.

Chi Yue said, "I have to go now, you guys... I’ll come and find you again next time."

Nan Yuan put down his work, "I’ll walk you out."

"You don’t have to, we’re not going the same way."

Situ En: "Just let him take you. No matter where you live, it’s on his way, so let him take you."

Chi Yue thought for a moment and agreed. After all, she had something she wanted to say to him.

Chi Yue didn’t leave immediately. Instead, she watched Nan Yuan drive away before she walked into the neighborhood.

She didn’t see that across the street, Fu Rongyin’s car was parked.

In the car, Ling Jiayu laughed, "If it weren’t for your meddling, they could have been a happy couple."

The man’s face was stern, with no ripple of emotion, "That’s none of your concern, get out."

Ling Jiayu didn’t move, "Are you angry because you’re embarrassed? Anyone would say the same thing, if it weren’t for you, perhaps Nan Yuan would already have a child with her."

Something seemed to shadow his eyes as Fu Rongyin darkened, "Get out by yourself or do you prefer to be thrown out?"

Ling Jiayu didn’t continue to provoke his anger, merely saying, "Don’t forget about tomorrow’s event."

The car door closed, isolating Fu Rongyin’s grim face from the world.

He took out his cellphone and dialed Chi Yue’s number, the call connected quickly, and her voice came through, "What’s wrong?"

Fu Rongyin clenched his phone, his mind replayed the scene of her saying goodbye to Nan Yuan over and over.

Was Nan Yuan really so hard for her to part with?

Fu Rongyin abruptly ended the call.

Chi Yue, staring at the darkened screen, quickened her pace.

She opened the door tentatively and just as she hadn’t fully caught her breath yet, a voice came from the entrance.

She whipped around to see Fu Rongyin walking in from outside.

Chi Yue became tense all over, "You... you’re back?"

Fu Rongyin’s expression was icy as he advanced towards her step by step.

Chi Yue instinctively stepped back, trying to shift her guilt, "I... I just got off work and came back, I’ll go make you dinner right now..."

"You smiled so happily at him, yet you’re so afraid of me?"

Chi Yue turned pale.

He had seen it after all!
