A hand, damp with mist, reached out from inside to take the clothes, "Who were you just talking to?"

That night, the moment Fu Rongyin advanced toward her, Chi Yue instinctively backed up to the edge of the bed.

"You’ve been, rather diligent lately; maybe we could take a break for a few days?"

The noise outside got louder, intermittent.

She knew Fu Rongyin couldn’t have gone far; as long as he answered the phone, he could rush back quickly.

Finally, the sound of the police shouting at the door and calling for her to open up came through.

Chi Yue wrapped herself tightly in a coat, assuring that she looked proper before she opened the door.

A force yanked her over forcefully, "You wretched woman, leaving home just because I said a few words to you? And even disturbing the police!"

Chi Yue suddenly realized something and in her panic, she grasped the policeman’s hand, "Officer, I don’t know him. You can check the surveillance, the person who came with me wasn’t him, it was Fu Rongyin, you can check the surveillance."

The man didn’t give her a chance to speak, pushing her back into the room, "Don’t you know that making a false report will get you jailed? Police officers, thanks for your trouble today. It’s just a domestic matter, better settled among ourselves back home in the Mainland."

"Hold on!" a policeman asked Chi Yue, "Who did you say you came with just now?"
