Chapter 184: Chapter 184 Declaration of Sovereignty
Chi Yue didn’t understand why Fu Rongyin always said she owed him, when clearly, in their relationship, she was the one at a disadvantage. She also didn’t dare ask, freezing up as she hid in his embrace.
Fortunately, Fu Rongyin didn’t say anything else and embraced her as he deeply fell asleep.
Chi Yue couldn’t sleep anymore and, after Fu Rongyin was sound asleep, she got up to tidy herself up.
Xu Zhenwen’s call came while she was waiting for the hotel’s meal.
"Chi Yue, are you and Ah Yin in Hai City?"
Chi Yue didn’t hide it, "Yes."
"Then that’s perfect, just stick close to him."
Chi Yue glanced at the still sleeping Fu Rongyin, "I don’t have a reason to follow him."
Xu Zhenwen said, "You do. Ling Jiayu is going back to her hometown, and she will definitely want Ah Yin to accompany her back. You just need to follow him, nothing else is required from you."
Chi Yue was reluctant, but Xu Zhenwen said, "If you successfully ruin Ling Jiayu’s impression of Ah Yin, I’ll send you a gift."
"I don’t need anything."
"I’ll send you some photos, you’ll understand then."
Xu Zhenwen hung up the phone.
Chi Yue silently took a deep breath.
She had to do it, even if she was unwilling.
The waiter brought over the meal and woke up Fu Rongyin.
Chi Yue maintained her composure, "Just in time, eat something before you go back to sleep."
Fu Rongyin glanced at the dishes she had placed on the coffee table, all of which were his favorites. He got up and slowly pulled on his clothes in front of her.
Seeing this, Chi Yue’s breath hitched and she subtly turned away.
Despite having slept together so many times, she still wasn’t used to being with him like this.
She admitted that his body was exceptionally good, with each muscle well-defined and strong. She didn’t dislike it, but she also didn’t dare to openly gaze at him.
Fu Rongyin quickly got ready and came over.
Chi Yue handed him a bowl and chopsticks, which he took naturally, then said, "Come with me tomorrow."
Chi Yue looked at him.
"Didn’t she give you a task? I’m giving you a chance to come with me."
Chi Yue forced a smile, "Should I thank you then?"
"You really should thank me."
Chi Yue paused, then said, "Thank you."
The next day, before leaving, Chi Yue called Nan Yuan. He didn’t answer, so she thought for a moment and sent him a message telling him she had to leave due to a commitment.
When she and Fu Rongyin appeared in front of Ling Jiayu, Chi Yue clearly saw Ling Jiayu’s expression change, but it was fleeting.
"Ah Yin, why did you bring her along?"
Fu Rongyin didn’t answer her, and Chi Yue certainly didn’t say anything either.
Ling Jiayu continued, "You’re taking her along, what will my family think?"
"Can’t you explain it?"
Ling Jiayu choked up, choosing to remain silent.
Ling Jiayu’s home was in a small city next to Hai City. Although they had checked into the best hotel, Fu Rongyin was still gloomy throughout.
Ling Jiayu, fearing to completely offend him, didn’t dare speak recklessly.
There was a problem when booking the rooms, only two were left.
Ling Jiayu said, "Miss Chi and I can share a room, I don’t mind."
Unexpectedly, Chi Yue said, "I mind." She held onto Fu Rongyin’s arm, "I’ll share a room with my fiancé."
Both Ling Jiayu and Fu Rongyin looked at her in surprise.
Chi Yue’s expression didn’t falter as she said, "Everyone in Nancheng knows that Fu Rongyin and I are engaged. Lady Ling just came back from Nancheng, surely you’re not unaware of this?"
Ling Jiayu was at a loss for words.
The news of Fu Rongyin and Chi Yue’s engagement had indeed spread, not just in Nancheng, but the buzz had reached other cities as well.
She suddenly very much regretted not stopping Chi Yue from coming along. Now that it had come to this, facing her family would be even more embarrassing for her.
She looked at Fu Rongyin, casting him a pleading glance.
Unexpectedly, he said nothing, allowing Chi Yue to continue holding his hand as they returned to their room.
As soon as they entered the room, Chi Yue let go of his hand.
Fu Rongyin scoffed, "You really aren’t willing to be at a disadvantage."
"This is professionalism."
Fu Rongyin looked at her more intently, about to say something, when the door was knocked on, the sound growing increasingly urgent.
Chi Yue asked, "Should I open the door?"
