She suddenly shuddered and sat up from the bed.

The clothes on her body were still intact, and she felt nothing unusual.

Just as she was about to breathe a sigh of relief, a noise came from the bathroom.

Chi Yue felt her blood run cold. "Who’s in there?"

The bathroom door opened, and the next second, Nan Yuan appeared before her wrapped in a bathrobe.

Catching sight of him, Chi Yue’s vision darkened, and she nearly fainted.

"Awake?"

Nan Yuan walked over to the sofa and handed her a shopping bag, "Go change your clothes, the smell of alcohol is too strong."

Chi Yue took a deep breath, wanting to ask something, but found she couldn’t utter a word.

Nan Yuan casually sat down on the sofa. "Whatever you want to know, I’ll tell you all about it later."

Only then did Chi Yue get out of the car and take the shopping bag into the bathroom.

She didn’t know how much she had drunk last night. Now, she felt like she had just crawled out of a barrel of liquor, reeking of alcohol.

Chi Yue took a quick shower, changed into clean clothes, and made sure everything was appropriate before stepping out of the bathroom.

Nan Yuan had already changed out of his bathrobe, which eased Chi Yue’s tension considerably.

"Let’s go, I’ll tell you on the way."

Just as they were about to leave, a sudden knocking came from outside, followed by unfamiliar voices.

"Is Chi Yue really inside? Could there be some mistake?"

"There’s no mistake, we saw her being carried in by a man, if you don’t believe it, just knock and find out for yourself."

"It can’t possibly be Chi Yue. You must have seen wrong! Chi Yue is about to marry into the Fu Family. How could she possibly do such a disgraceful thing?"

"Mrs. Chi, this isn’t something you can just brush off with belief or disbelief; open the door and see the situation inside to know."

The voices outside continued, Chi Yue’s face behind the door was terrifyingly somber.

She looked at Nan Yuan, "Do you know what’s going on?"

Nan Yuan said, "When you were calling Xi Yihang, I was with him, and we both went over, but when we got to the room, you weren’t there. I checked the surveillance, and saw you were taken away. The person who took you was intercepted by us at the hotel entrance."

With each sentence he spoke, Chi Yue’s expression grew darker, until it seemed as if it could drip water.

"Where is that person now?"

"He was taken to the police station, insisting it was a moment of lust, refusing to say anything else."

Chi Yue fell silent.

Clearly, this conspiracy targeted her.

The knocking still hadn’t stopped.

Unexpectedly, Nan Yuan asked, "Do you need me to hide?"

"How are you going to hide?"

Nan Yuan glanced at the window, remaining silent.

Chi Yue snorted in amusement, "Are you planning to jump out of the window?"

She had inadvertently glanced outside while in the bathroom; a fall from such a height, a dozen meters, would be fatal.

Nan Yuan just looked at her.

Chi Yue said, "Let’s call the police."

Nan Yuan raised an eyebrow. "Accuse them of harassment?"

Chi Yue’s eyelid twitched. "I know you can find a way for us to walk out of here openly and honorably."

Nan Yuan, "You do trust me."

Though he said this, he still took out his phone and dialed a number.

He took the call on the balcony. Chi Yue didn’t intentionally listen to what he was saying.

Soon, the police arrived and declared that the people inside were their witnesses and not to be interviewed.

After much difficulty in getting rid of the reporters, Chi Yue, to make it more believable, let Nan Yuan stay in the room while she left with the police.

At the police station, Chi Yue met the man who had taken her from the bar.

The man was a gangster, a man who did tasks for money, and he was tight-lipped.

Realizing she could get nothing out of him, Chi Yue called Fu Rongyin.

Fu Rongyin arrived quickly, and didn’t say a word during the procedure.

Before leaving, he casually glanced at the gangster. "Your family is still waiting at home for your return."

Upon hearing this, Chi Yue instinctively looked at the gangster, only to see his face dramatically change.

Fu Rongyin walked away, and Chi Yue hurriedly followed him.

At the entrance of the police station, Chi Yue pulled open the passenger side door, suddenly halting.

Ling Jiayu was sitting in the passenger seat, looking at her with a grin that was not quite a smile. "Miss Chi, I heard you were almost kidnapped last night?"
