Chapter 167: Chapter 167: Normally Acting All Innocent

After finally falling asleep, she was soon awakened by a knock on the door.

Chi Yue opened her eyes, and it was already broad daylight.

It was the Fu Family’s housekeeper outside the door, "Miss Chi, I’ve placed your change of clothes by the door."

Chi Yue suddenly realized she was at the Fu Family’s house, she sat up in panic, only to find that she was the only one left in the room.

In a daze, Chi Yue remembered last night when she and Fu Rongyin were still clinging to each other, Fu Rongyin had received a phone call.

Unable to free his hands, Fu Rongyin turned on the speakerphone, and Chi Yue knew that the caller was Ling Jiayu.

Ling Jiayu told Fu Rongyin about what she did to Xu Zhenwen, without a single complaint throughout, but to Chi Yue, every word seemed to have a hidden meaning.

At that moment, her brain must have snapped, her normally well-controlled voice unexpectedly made a sound.

She vividly remembered that at that instant, the man’s body stiffened, and the voice from the phone also fell silent.

Chi Yue decided to go all out, thus crossing the line even further.

This resulted in her using up her very last bit of energy afterward.

Yet she still overestimated herself; she had no idea when Fu Rongyin had left.

Thinking about that phone call last night, she pursed her thin lips.

Downstairs, Chi Yue greeted Xu Zhenwen and then suggested she wanted to leave.

Xu Zhenwen did not try to keep her there but arranged for the driver to send her away, then mentioned something about Ling Jiayu.

On her way home, Chi Yue called Nan Bingyu and found out she was at the office, so Chi Yue decided to go see her there.

At the restaurant beneath the office building, Nan Bingyu arrived with Xi Yihang.

"My poor Yueyue, I’m afraid you’ll never escape Fu Rongyin’s palm in this lifetime."

Nan Bingyu’s gaze fell on the bruises on her neck, "Tsk tsk, who would have thought, he seems so gentle, but in private, he’s so fierce."

With someone else present, Chi Yue couldn’t thicken her face; she adjusted her collar, asking, "Why are you all here?"

"All because of you," Nan Bingyu sighed, "You handed the company over to me, and I couldn’t just return it empty-handed, so I brought him over to fight alongside me."

Xi Yihang sat beside Nan Bingyu, his long arm resting on the back of Nan Bingyu’s chair, looking relaxed.

"It’s just because I hate to suffer hardships," he said.

Nan Bingyu smiled sweetly and kissed him, causing Chi Yue to cough lightly, "Mind your image, please."

Nan Bingyu teased, "You should cover your neck at least; should I be seeing this?"

Chi Yue glared at her irritably.

Nan Bingyu, "Alright, alright, I won’t say anything more. Back to the topic, what’s the deal with Ling Jiayu?"

Chi Yue shook her head, "I don’t remember her at all."

"Impossible, I remember we even talked about her before, she used to be quite a figure in our school."

Back then, Ling Jiayu was the most rebellious girl in their school, and the only one bold enough to pursue Fu Rong.

Even after Fu Rong turned her down, she shamelessly kept clinging to him.

That was how Nan Bingyu came to know about her.

But Chi Yue still shook her head, "I really can’t remember her at all."

"If you can’t remember, then let it go. First, let’s see what she really wants to do. If she poses no threat to you, then just ignore her."

While talking, Nan Bingyu’s phone rang. She glanced at the caller ID and looked toward the entrance, then waved, "Bro, bro, I’m here."
