Entangled with My Ex's Uncle -
Chapter 164: She Has Never Been with Anyone Else Before Me
Chapter 164: Chapter 164: She Has Never Been with Anyone Else Before Me
Chi Yue, although she really wanted to ignore her words, subconsciously she still stopped in her tracks.
Xu Zhenwen approached and said in a voice only the two of them could hear, "You and Ah Yin were a couple before."
Chi Yue scoffed, "To get me to stand with you, are you not even drafting such lies?"
"Chi Yue, have you truly forgotten? Ten years ago, the year you were in senior high, you were already together with Fu Rongyin."
Chi Yue found it absurd. Not to mention she was so young at the time, even if it were true, how could she have no recollection of it whatsoever?
"Ms. Xu, if you really want to cooperate with me, there is a way. You sign a contract with me, and we just pretend."
She needed to leave a way out for herself, otherwise she wouldn’t even have the qualifications to negotiate in the future.
Xu Zhenwen seemed to clutch at a life-saving straw, "Okay, I agree, let’s sign it right away."
Chi Yue knew she had made the right move, and at the same time, she became more and more curious about what Ling Jiayu had done to make Xu Zhenwen prefer to accept her rather than let her through the door.
Xu Zhenwen was quick and had the agreement signed in fifteen minutes.
When she reappeared before Fu Rongyin, a half-hour had passed.
Chi Yue only realized upon entering the room that Fu Rao’s parents were also there.
When she was with Fu Rao, she knew his parents treated each other with courtesy. Seeing them today, that phrase was not quite accurate; it was more like they were two polite friends.
The kind whose relationship wasn’t very good.
Their gazes fell on Chi Yue. Fu Rao’s father quickly shifted his gaze away, while his mother took a few more glances at her.
Chi Yue was led by Xu Zhenwen to her seat and then, in front of everyone, Xu Zhenwen arranged for Chi Yue to sit beside her.
Fu Rao said with a half-smile, "Grandma, isn’t it inappropriate to have Chi Yue sit by your side?"
Xu Zhenwen replied irritably, "How so, do I need you to teach me how to handle things?"
"I wouldn’t dare, I’m just reminding Grandma that the place beside you should be for Lady Ling, right, Fifth Uncle?"
Fu Rao deliberately steered the topic towards Fu Rongyin, wanting to see Chi Yue embarrassed.
But he didn’t get his wish.
Fu Rongyin’s reply was ambiguous, "I’m not qualified to decide who should sit in that spot."
Xu Zhenwen was satisfied. She placed Chi Yue’s hand on top of hers, "I, for one, find myself more and more pleased with Yueyue the more I see her. Had I known there would be today, I never would have stopped them from being together originally."
Chi Yue lowered her eyes and did not speak. She always maintained this cold demeanor.
Everyone thought the conversation would end with her silence, but Fu Rao suddenly said, "Grandma, don’t you mind at all that she’s my ex-girlfriend?"
"We are all family after all; this is keeping it within the family."
Fu Rao looked towards Fu Rongyin, "Does Fifth Uncle feel the same way?"
Fu Rongyin’s expression was placid, "What exactly are you referring to?"
Before he could speak, Fu Rongyin interjected, "She hadn’t been with anyone else before me."
With just that one indifferent phrase, Fu Rongyin blocked any further mockery from Fu Rao towards Chi Yue.
Just then, Ling Jiayu spoke up, "So you were Miss Chi’s ex-boyfriend? I’m curious, how did Miss Chi end up breaking up with you? After all, you are considered the best choice in Nancheng."
Fu Rao scoffed, "It wasn’t her who broke up with me; I was the one who dumped her, and the next day we got married."
As he spoke, he drew Qin Anlu closer, yet his gaze remained on Chi Yue.
Chi Yue also looked at him, unblinkingly, "That’s right. After we broke up I slept with Fu Rongyin."
