Fu Rongyin didn’t respond and got up to leave. Soon after, a doctor came and told her she needed to stay in the hospital for observation and the earliest she could be discharged was the following morning.

Chi Yue didn’t need to think to know whose idea this was.

She wasn’t actually seeking Fu Rongyin’s permission; after all, her legs were her own, and without Fu Rongyin, the hospital couldn’t force her to stay.

However, what Chi Yue hadn’t expected was that Fu Rongyin had no intention of leaving until late into the night.

Chi Yue, barely able to keep her eyes open, finally couldn’t resist asking him, "Aren’t you leaving?"

Fu Rongyin leaned back into the chair beside him, "I have nothing else to keep me busy."

"I can’t sleep with you here."

Chi Yue said, "With you, I’ve never had a good night’s sleep."

"One more night won’t make a difference."

She closed her eyes, ignoring him, and before long, she could hear the man’s breathing become steady. She too soon fell asleep.

The next day, Fu Rongyin took care of the discharge procedures and returned her to the hotel before leaving.

That day, she didn’t see him again, and the hotel meal she ate was clearly arranged by him to be especially bland.

Chi Yue didn’t know what Fu Rongyin was busy with, but she was clear that she couldn’t continue to stay.

But once more, the turn of events was beyond her expectations.
