Chi Yue finished work and set off for a dinner gathering with her colleagues.

The staff were mostly young people around her age, with several young men’s gazes landing on her from time to time.

Although Chi Yue was chatting with them, her smile did not reach her eyes.

A sunny and handsome young man mustered his courage and approached her, "Mr. Chi, let me toast to you. With this drink, let me ask on behalf of everyone, do you have a boyfriend?"

As his words fell, the crowd started to cheer.

Chi Yue smiled, "No boyfriend, no husband."

The young man’s face turned red, "Then... may I ask what your standards are in choosing a partner? Among us, who fits your criteria the most?"

Upon hearing this, several young men’s eyes lit up, all holding their breath as they awaited her response.

Chi Yue looked around, "You are all very good, but... I currently have no need for a romantic relationship."

Everyone returned disappointed.

But someone silently took her words to heart.

Now she may not want to date, but that doesn’t mean she won’t in the future. All it takes is some effort to move her heart.

After this little episode, the group became lively again, carrying on until the early hours before Chi Yue returned to No.1 Bay.

She had drunk quite a bit, not enough to be drunk, but she was already staggering.

She swayed as she entered the brightly lit home, with the elegant man sitting on the sofa reviewing documents.

Chi Yue stood in front of him for a while, but he showed no reaction.

Chi Yue turned and walked towards her room, her steps unsteady as if she might collapse at any second, yet she managed to maintain her balance and continued forward.

Before long, the sound of a bathroom door closing could be heard from the room.

The man in the living room finally looked up, his face stern as he tossed the documents onto the coffee table and stood up to go to the guest room.

Chi Yue took a shower and surprisingly found that Fu Rongyin was not in their room. She went to the living room and still didn’t see anyone.

Thinking that Fu Rongyin had gone out, she prepared to return to her room.

Suddenly, she heard sounds coming from the next room and paused mid-step.

The sounds were intermittent, like someone speaking.

Chi Yue pursed her lips but ultimately didn’t have the courage to go over.

Almost at the moment Chi Yue closed her bedroom door, the guest room door opened, and Fu Rongyin walked out.

He glanced at the closed door and strode away.

The next day, Chi Yue came back at noon and cooked, but after waiting the entire afternoon, Fu Rongyin did not show. She ate something casually and then left.

In the evening, she prepared several dishes again and waited two hours, but still, Fu Rongyin did not return. Chi Yue called him, and despite the phone ringing, no one answered, so she stopped trying.

In the following days, Chi Yue would finish cooking and leave. When she returned from work, the dishes on the table were untouched, and there was no sign of Fu Rongyin coming back home.

This continued for a week, and so, Chi Yue decided not to cook for him anymore.

But on the very day she didn’t cook for the first time, she received a call from Fu Rongyin.

"I’ll come back for lunch."

Chi Yue, who had been holding back her frustration for a week, could no longer suppress it.

"Fu Rongyin, are you enjoying this?"

"I’m busy, hanging up."

Chi Yue stared at the black screen of her phone, feeling as though her strength had been drained, devoid of energy.

She distinctly sensed that from the day she came home smelling of alcohol, Fu Rongyin’s attitude towards her had changed. A week went by, and every time she wanted to say something to him, the photo Gu Qingyu had shown her came to mind.

In that photo, a woman was looping her arm through Fu Rongyin’s. That woman bore a seven-parts resemblance to her.
