Chapter 112: Chapter 112 He Doesn’t Love Her

Chi Yue fixed her gaze steadily on the composed man, who, upon seeing her, let a flash of surprise pass through his eyes.

Chu Shuo had already walked in leading Chi Yue, greeting everyone with a smile as they went, "You’re all here, that’s great, it’s been a long time since we’ve gathered."

Those who were observant had already added two seats for Chu Shuo and Chi Yue.

However, Chu Shuo brought Chi Yue to Fu Rongyin’s side, "Lao Wu, what are you dazed about? Won’t you introduce us?"

Upon these words, everyone turned their attention to them.

It was known within the circle that Fu Rongyin had a woman, but very few had ever seen her, so it would be false to say they weren’t curious.

Now that they had the chance to have a look, they all wished they could examine her meticulously.

Fu Rongyin casually sat up straight and reached for Chi Yue’s hand, pulling her onto his lap under the gaze of everyone.

This wasn’t the first time Fu Rongyin had had her sit on his lap, Chi Yue merely twitched her eyelid and didn’t refuse.

Seeing this, Chu Shuo sat on the other side with a look of amusement as he watched Fu Rongyin.

"You usually hide her away, and now that you’ve finally brought her in front of your brothers, won’t you introduce her?"

Fu Rongyin pretended not to notice, but only Chi Yue and the woman next to Fu Rongyin knew that Fu Rongyin’s hand was caressing her long legs under the table.

Chi Yue’s skin crawled, and she forcefully pressed down on his presumptuous hand.

Finally settling down, Fu Rongyin said to them, "Chi Yue, the Chi Family’s eldest daughter."

The crowd realized at once.

One person remarked to Chu Shuo, "Isn’t your wife the eldest daughter of the Chi family?"

Another person chided him, "You must be new around here, who doesn’t know that Chi Yue is the real eldest daughter of the Chi family?"

"Then what about Chu Shuo’s wife?"

The person next to him pushed a wine glass to his mouth, "You can’t even keep your mouth shut when drinking, why ask so many questions?"

Just then, Fu Rongyin suddenly said, "I can’t stay to drink with you guys today, let’s get together another time."

Who would dare to stop Fu Rongyin when he wanted to leave?

After he took Chi Yue away, someone began to gossip with Chu Shuo, "Why did you bring your younger aunt here?"

"You said it yourself, she’s my younger aunt. I’m definitely supposed to help my own family," Chu Shuo replied.

The crowd: "..."

They hadn’t seen him treating his wife as his own family, yet he treated his younger aunt as family—was he actually coming into the Chi family to be their brother-in-law?

Chi Yue got into Fu Rongyin’s car and still didn’t initiate conversation with Fu Rongyin.

Fu Rongyin got into the car and during the ride took two calls on speakerphone before finally looking at her.

"Chu Shuo brought you over, why didn’t you tell me?"

"He didn’t tell me who we were meeting, and I didn’t know you had returned," Chi Yue’s voice was particularly bland, betraying no emotion.

It was unclear whether Fu Rongyin truly didn’t detect any or what, but he said, "Chu Shuo is married now; he wouldn’t bring you to meet strangers. Next time something like this happens, give me a call first."

Chi Yue responded with a noncommittal "Hmm."

Fu Rongyin conversed with her disinterestedly for a while and, noticing her lack of enthusiasm, raised an eyebrow, "Something on your mind?"

"No," she replied.

"Having trouble at work?"

"Not that," she said.

This was the first time Fu Rongyin had seen Chi Yue like this. He pulled the car over to the side of the road and asked with patience, "You haven’t contacted me these past few days, has something happened?"

Chi Yue looked down, "It’s nothing. Everyone has times each month when they feel down."

Fu Rongyin’s brow furrowed, "Didn’t your period just end ten days ago?"

Chi Yue was taken aback.

He actually remembered so clearly.

She was suddenly reminded of a sentence she had read somewhere, that a man who doesn’t love you would care about your menstrual cycle, and she shivered with the realization.
