Chapter 87 Cooper Coldson, Why Don’t You Trust Me For Once
Chapter 87: Chapter 87 Cooper Coldson, Why Don’t You Trust Me For Once
Old Master Coldson had been in emergency resuscitation.
Yolanda Greenwood was terrified, praying incessantly in her heart for her grandfather to pull through.
After a while, Cooper Coldson and Christopher Coldson arrived.
"What happened?" he asked anxiously, "Wasn’t he fine this morning?"
Isabella Ross’s eyes were red as she shook her head, "I don’t know what happened, I was in the living room downstairs at the time."
"I was there," Melissa Greenwood glanced at Monny Howard. "I went to deliver medicine. Sister Howard and Yolanda were giving grandfather an injection. I didn’t expect that just after the injection, I saw something wrong with grandfather’s face."
Cooper immediately thought of something and looked at Monny Howard, "Did you give the wrong injection?"
"I don’t know, I didn’t," Monny Howard frantically shook her head, "At that time, Miss Yolanda offered to help, so I asked her to pass me the medicine. I explained it very clearly to her, she should... she should have gotten it right."
Then, the door to the resuscitation room opened and nurses hurried out.
"How is it?" Cooper stepped forward and asked in a deep voice.
"What’s going on with your family? The old master’s blood sugar is a bit high, but you can’t give that much insulin, are you trying to kill him?"
The nurse looked impatient, "We’re still resuscitating him, prepare yourselves."
It really was the wrong medication!
Cooper turned around, his voice frighteningly cold, "What exactly happened?"
Monny Howard, terrified, sat on the ground, "I don’t know, at the time it was Miss Yolanda who handed me the medication... I don’t know..."
"Sister Howard," Melissa Greenwood reminded her seemingly kindly, "Isn’t your medicine box at the old mansion? Go back and check, then you’ll know if you administered the wrong medication."
Her eyes sparkled as she watched Monny Howard.
"Go back and check now!" Cooper ordered.
"Okay, okay." Monny Howard struggled to get up and as she was leaving, she glanced at Yolanda in the corner.
Yolanda was crouched in the corner, seemingly oblivious to everything around her.
At some point, Christopher Coldson walked over, "It looks like you picked the wrong medication."
It took Yolanda a while to understand what he meant, and she tried to remember.
A bottle of insulin, a brown one, and another blue bottle of medication; she couldn’t have picked the wrong one.
"How stupid!" Christopher Coldson shook his head and left, helpless.
Soon, Monny Howard called back, and Cooper immediately answered the phone.
"How is it?"
"I... I checked the medicine box," Monny Howard trembled, "There really is a bottle of insulin missing, it must have been... Miss Yolanda was too nervous, she... she picked the wrong one."
Cooper smashed the phone down and stormed toward the corner where Yolanda was.
Yolanda hadn’t even realized what had happened when she was suddenly grabbed by the collar and lifted up.
"Do you want to kill Grandpa?"
"What... what are you talking about?" Yolanda looked bewildered, "How is Grandpa?"
"Why did you touch those medications?" Cooper shouted furiously, "Why did you pick the wrong one?"
"No, I didn’t," Yolanda murmured.
"Get her out of here, get her out!" Isabella Ross was almost ready to kill Yolanda, "I don’t want to see her ever again."
"It wasn’t me, really, it wasn’t me." Yolanda didn’t know what exactly was going on, but she was sure she hadn’t picked the wrong medication.
However, by this point, no one was listening to her explanation.
Cooper almost dragged her to the elevator and then threw her inside, "Get out! Don’t come back!"
"Cooper, listen to me, it wasn’t me." Yolanda cried, she loved her grandfather so much, how could she possibly make that fatal mistake?
But Cooper’s eyes looked as if he wanted to kill her.
"Cooper, why can’t you just..." As the elevator doors closed, Yolanda sat down on the floor, "trust me once?"
She didn’t know how she managed to leave the hospital.
When she arrived home, Lola Gold was startled.
"Yolanda, what happened?" Lola felt as if Yolanda was like a lost soul, completely devoid of spirit, "What happened?"
Yolanda spoke numbly, "Grandpa is critically ill."
"How could this be?" Lola quickly pulled her to sit on the sofa, "Yolanda, don’t panic, the old master has his own luck, he’ll be alright."
Yolanda then reacted slightly, grabbing Lola as if holding onto a lifeline.
"Lola, ask Uncle, please ask Uncle how Grandpa is?"
"Okay, I’m calling now." Lola went aside, hesitated for a moment, and soon made a call.
These days, Christopher hadn’t contacted her, not even through phone or WeChat.
Lola vaguely felt that something she didn’t know about had happened.
She called for a while, but no one answered.
Lola tried again, calling four or five times, but still, no one picked up.
She helplessly turned back to Yolanda, "Yolanda, it seems Christopher didn’t bring his phone."
"How could that be?" Yolanda, somewhat incredulous and almost in a trance, took out her phone and dialed again.
Unexpectedly, the call was answered after a short while.
Lola’s expression changed slightly: was Christopher deliberately not answering her phone? Or had he blocked her as punishment?
She found it strange since Christopher had never punished her in such a way before.
She said nothing and sat next to Yolanda, only to hear Christopher’s indifferent voice from the phone.
"He’s still under resuscitation, I’ll let you know if there’s any update." Then, he hung up the phone.
Yolanda sat there, still silently praying for the old master in her heart, even willing to sacrifice ten years of her life if it meant his survival.
Lola was also distracted.
The two sat in silence until the phone rang again at midnight.
Yolanda quickly picked up the phone.
"He’s out of immediate danger, but the hospital says he needs to be observed for a few days," Christopher’s voice was purposely lowered.
"That’s great, that’s wonderful!" Yolanda cried with joy.
"Come to the hospital tomorrow," Christopher quickly said, "Grandpa wants to see you."
Before Yolanda could reply, he hung up the phone.
Yolanda put down the phone and began to cry uncontrollably, "Lola, it’s wonderful, Grandpa is okay, it’s just wonderful."
"Yes, I knew it, I knew he’d be alright," Lola gently patted Yolanda’s back.
She had Yolanda eat something and then rest while she went outside to call Christopher.
But strangely, she still couldn’t get through.
By then, she could be certain, she had indeed been blocked by Christopher.
Why?
Had he agreed to end their contract relationship?
Lola knew she should be happy, but a nagging frustration at the bottom of her heart was something she couldn’t ignore no matter how hard she tried.
