Chapter 396: Chapter 396: Our Family is Finally Reuniting
The husband almost instantly replied, [Soon, I should be able to come within a week.]
Quickly, he sent the second message, [Have you made up your mind? Do you want to stay in Gray City? I heard the Baruy exhibition was very successful; you could open a branch there.]
Yolanda looked at the message, thought for a moment, and replied, [I’m still considering it. Let’s discuss it when you arrive.]
[Alright, rest early, and give our daughter a kiss for me.]
Yolanda curved her lips slightly, [Good night.]
Putting down the phone, she lay in bed, unable to sleep.
From the moment she got off the plane, she had a vague feeling that she had a deep entanglement with the city. She guessed that in the memories she had lost, there must have been some unforgettable experiences.
Two days later, Cooper Coldson obtained all of Lola Gold’s information; it turns out Lola had returned to Gray City a year ago and is now getting married.
He instinctively thought of Christopher.
In those days, Lola aborted the child and then disappeared without a trace. Christopher was almost driven mad.
Later, Christopher left as well. It’s been more than two years now; he hasn’t returned to Gray City and hasn’t had any contact with the family.
The same goes for Noah Coldson; after they bid farewell on the sea, Cooper never expected he would never see his elder brother again, not even receiving a call or a letter. Noah seemed to have vanished into thin air.
But Cooper understood that Noah’s profession is special; if he doesn’t want to appear, they won’t find him.
"President Coldson," Richard Reyes’s voice broke Cooper’s thoughts, "We’ve arrived, this is the neighborhood."
Cooper got out of the car; after obtaining Lola Gold’s address, he came right away. He knew there was a good chance Yolanda and Little Ella were still living with Lola.
He confirmed once more with Richard, "Do I look good? Is there anything wrong with my hair or clothes?"
"No, President Coldson, with your looks, you could start a career," Richard joked, knowing Cooper was very nervous and trying to help ease his tension.
However, it had little effect; Cooper still seemed extremely tense, something he hadn’t felt even when dealing with billion-dollar negotiations.
"President Coldson, should we go up now?" Richard carried the gift.
"I’ll go up alone. You wait for me down here." Cooper took the items and went up alone.
At the door, he found his palms sweaty and had to take several deep breaths before finally gathering the courage to knock.
Soon, the door opened, and it was indeed Lola Gold.
Lola Gold was initially surprised but then smiled, "You came faster than I imagined."
"Long time no see," Cooper’s voice came out somewhat hoarse due to nerves.
"Indeed, it’s been quite a long time, almost two years, right?" Lola Gold tilted her body slightly, "Come in."
Cooper nodded slightly, walked in quietly, and once he placed the items down, he cautiously looked around.
Lola Gold chuckled, "President Coldson, why do you look so nervous? Don’t worry, I’m the only one at home."
Cooper smiled apologetically.
"Sit down," Lola Gold invited, "Would you like something to drink? Though I don’t have any fancy tea, I can offer you some plain water."
"Anything’s fine," Cooper sat on the sofa, still somewhat uneasy.
Lola Gold sat across from him, looked at him for a while, and then spoke with amusement, "You’ve changed quite a bit."
"Really?" Cooper lowered his head, clenched his fist, then looked up at Lola Gold and asked with trembling voice, "Is she... alright?"
Lola Gold chuckled softly, "She’s fine."
"And... Ella?"
"She’s fine too."
"That’s good, that’s good," Cooper visibly relaxed.
Lola Gold asked him with a smile, "That’s all you want to know? Aren’t you curious where she’s been hiding these past three years? Why she ignored you and Gabriel? And why she’s back now?"
Cooper curled his lips, "As long as she and Ella are well, that’s all that matters. As for other things, we have plenty of time to talk about it slowly."
"Is that so?" Lola Gold’s smile deepened.
Cooper couldn’t help but feel a chill, looking at Lola Gold without understanding.
"I can take you to see her."
"Really?" Cooper stood up in excitement; he thought he had hurt Yolanda so deeply that Lola Gold wouldn’t want them to have any contact again.
"Really." Lola Gold nodded assuredly, "But, as you just said, you have a lot of time, and regardless of what you discover, I hope you don’t get too emotional."
Cooper frowned, feeling even more uneasy inside.
As he was leaving, Cooper suddenly remembered something and turned back, "By the way, I heard you’re getting married, congratulations in advance."
"Thank you." Lola Gold tugged at her lips, seemingly wanting to say something but stopping.
Cooper quickly guessed something, "It seems my uncle remains out of touch; sometimes no news is the best news."
"Yes." Lola Gold pursued no further but reminded him again, "Tomorrow at noon, don’t forget."
"Rest assured, I’ll be back for now."
They agreed to meet tomorrow at noon, Lola Gold would bring Yolanda to lunch with Cooper.
Cooper was very happy; picking up Little Gabriel from school in the evening, he became chatty along the way, "Gabriel, mom has returned, tomorrow dad is going to see mom; are you happy?"
Little Gabriel’s eyes lit up instantly, nodding at Cooper, of course happy that his silly dad would finally reunite with mom.
When they returned to the villa, they found Isabella Ross had come.
"Mom, why are you here?" Cooper couldn’t hide his excitement in his tone.
"It’s nothing, just came to see you guys." Isabella Ross naturally noticed her son’s mood, curiously asking, "Is there good news? Why so happy?"
Cooper chuckled, "Mom, I have good news. Yolanda has truly come back."
Isabella Ross’s expression changed, but she didn’t reply.
Cooper continued, "I went to meet Lola Gold today; she told me personally. She also mentioned she would bring Yolanda to see me tomorrow."
He was very pleased, patting Little Gabriel’s head, "Mom, Yolanda and Ella are back. Our family is finally going to be reunited."
"Lola Gold?" Isabella Ross frowned, "Didn’t she say something?"
"She did, she said Yolanda and Ella are doing great." Cooper, fully immersed in his emotions, failed to notice any strangeness from Isabella Ross.
He excitedly looked around, "I feel this house should be redecorated, or maybe it’s too small? But after all, it’s the house where I married Yolanda; I guess she’ll love it and won’t want to move."
He murmured to himself, "I’ll first arrange to tidy it up tomorrow and then ask Yolanda’s opinion."
