Chapter 386: Chapter 386: The Debt He Owes Yolanda Greenwood Can Never Be Repaid

The three of them chatted for a while longer until it was time for the exhibition to start. Sophie Taylor needed to give a speech, so they headed to the venue together.

Sophie went on stage to give her speech, and Yolanda Greenwood and Jenny Reyes stood outside, making small talk.

"How’s everything going for you now?" Jenny asked with concern.

"Pretty good," Yolanda smiled.

"And your daughter..." Jenny didn’t know the truth about that time jumping into the sea, nor whether the child survived.

Yolanda’s smile became even sweeter. "Ella is also doing well."

Jenny sighed in relief, afraid she had said something wrong. "That’s good. And you..."

"Hmm?" Yolanda hesitated for a moment before responding tentatively. "I got married. It seems I really did have a child before marriage. Otherwise, why does everyone find it so strange that I’m married?"

Jenny was indeed surprised and laughed awkwardly. "Then why haven’t we seen..."

"My husband? Due to work, he’s abroad and will be back in a while."

Just as Jenny was about to ask who Yolanda’s husband was, Sophie returned.

"I fear these kinds of events the most," Sophie shook her head helplessly. "Did I embarrass myself just now?"

"Not at all, Director Taylor, you were perfect," Yolanda gave a thumbs up.

Jenny nodded in agreement. "Indeed, since I left, you’ve grown a lot."

Sophie gave a bitter smile. "I had no choice; with everyone leaving, I had to be thrown into the deep end and fend for myself."

The three of them chuckled together.

"By the way, the exhibition has started. Shall we go see how Yolanda’s work is? I bet it’s packed," Sophie suggested.

Yolanda had long wanted to go, so she nodded immediately and took the lead.

Jenny asked Sophie in a low voice from behind, "Do you know that Yolanda remarried?"

"Yeah, I know."

"And... do you know her husband..."

Sophie shook her head. "No, but..."

She lowered her voice to tell Jenny, "You wouldn’t believe it in your wildest dreams, but Yolanda’s daughter and Cooper Coldson’s son met in kindergarten and became close friends."

Jenny’s eyes widened in shock, "Then they..."

"They probably haven’t reunited yet," Sophie clicked her tongue twice. "Yesterday, Cooper just asked me for Yolanda’s phone number. He doesn’t even know that Designer Greenwood at Heart Island Design is Yolanda."

Jenny stopped and looked unhappy. "Sophie, what are you doing? Betraying a friend for the sake of gain? I know you’ve been getting close to Coldson Group these years. Even this annual exhibition is in cooperation with them. But don’t forget why Yolanda jumped into the sea back then. Do you want her to repeat her mistake?"

"Sister Reyes, am I such a mercenary person?" Sophie sighed. "At first, I didn’t want them to recognize each other either, nor did I want Yolanda to remember those painful memories. Even though I know Cooper has realized his mistakes and has been searching for Yolanda, this exhibition is also to find her..."

She sighed again. "Sister Reyes, you and I both know clearly, no matter how much Cooper does, he can never repay what he owes Yolanda. But, Sister Reyes, the children are innocent, you know? Ever since An An met Ella, he finally started acting like a normal child, having friends and laughing. No matter how wrong Cooper was, is An An to blame? Is Ella at fault?"

Jenny remained silent, her expression noticeably displeased.

"Sister Reyes, if one day Yolanda remembers everything, do you think she can just ignore An An?"

Jenny’s expression finally softened a bit.

"Sister Reyes, I actually didn’t do anything," Sophie continued to explain. "I didn’t tell Cooper that Yolanda came back, nor did I tell Yolanda about her past with Cooper. Since we can’t make decisions for Yolanda, why not just be bystanders, neither pushing nor stopping anything? Isn’t that okay?"

Yolanda had walked quite a distance and then saw the two of them seemed to be arguing, so she quickly returned. "What happened with you two?"

"It’s nothing," the two chimed in at the same time, then exchanged an awkward smile.

"It’s nothing, let’s go, great designer." Jenny stepped forward a few steps, standing by Yolanda’s left side.

"Come on, the great designer’s works might already be surrounded by a crowd," Sophie naturally took her place on Yolanda’s right side.

Yolanda looked left and right, then smiled helplessly.

When they reached Heart Island Design’s booth, they indeed saw a huge crowd gathered, layer upon layer, and couldn’t get in.

"What did I say?" Sophie shook her head helplessly.

At this moment, Sunny Skies, who was in charge of the booth, ran over to greet them politely. "Hello, Director Taylor, Sister Reyes!"

She then turned to Yolanda. "Designer Greenwood, a lot of people love your work and want to take photos with you. Is that okay with you?"

"Let’s forget it," Yolanda quickly waved her hand. She just wanted to be a quiet designer, not some internet celebrity.

Whenever she thought of the strangers attracted by Little Ella’s videos, she felt uneasy all over.

"Alright then," Sunny understood and said, "I’ll explain to them and handle it."

"With this popularity, Yolanda, you don’t need to worry. Let’s head over to my place for some coffee and a chat," Sophie suggested first.

Yolanda and Jenny immediately agreed.

Yolanda apologetically said, "But I need to return early this afternoon. I’m worried because Ella got hurt."

Upon hearing this, Sophie immediately agreed, and she and Jenny continued to ask how badly Little Ella was hurt, planning together to visit her.

Yolanda agreed, knowing that Little Ella liked company, and since she had to stay home these days, she would welcome visitors with open arms.

On the other side, Cooper Coldson had finished dealing with his important matters in the morning. After lunch, he planned to visit the jewelry exhibition. However, halfway there, he received a phone call.

After hanging up the phone, he somewhat helplessly said, "Richard Reyes, pull over, please."

"Yes," Richard quickly found a spot to park. "President Coldson, is something the matter?"

"I can’t make it to the jewelry exhibition. Go on my behalf," Cooper unbuckled his seatbelt. "I have something else to take care of. Oh, and remember, if Heart Island Design’s pieces are for sale, buy one."

"Alright, President Coldson," Richard asked again, "President Coldson, the jewelry exhibition should last until the afternoon. Where are you headed? If you’d like, I can drop you off first."

"No need, you’d better head over early. What if the pieces are too exceptional and you can’t grab any?" Cooper said coldly. "I’ll just grab a cab myself."

He quickly got out of the car, hailed another vehicle, and hurried away.

Richard had no choice but to go to the jewelry exhibition by himself. Upon arrival, as expected, Heart Island Design’s pieces were extremely popular. By the time he got there, there was only one piece left and it was a non-sale item.
