Chapter 383: Chapter 383: Dad Got Ella’s Mom’s Phone Number
"Withdraw from school?" Cooper Coldson was visibly surprised, "Is that Ella’s mom’s decision?"
"It should be Ella’s parents," Elsie Adams sighed heavily, "It’s understandable that parents are worried about their child, and given Ella’s situation, I can understand their concerns too."
Cooper Coldson frowned, "What exactly happened that day? How did Ella fall in?"
"This child is different from Gabriel, she’s extremely lively, but it was also her own carelessness," Elsie Adams observed Cooper’s expression, then added apologetically, "It was also my failure as a teacher."
Cooper said nothing, as he was a bit worried at the moment. If Ella were to leave school, what would happen to Gabriel?
It was obvious that Gabriel was currently very reliant on Ella.
"Mr. Coldson, I know you’re worried about Gabriel," Elsie Adams saw Cooper’s concern, "But don’t worry, I believe Gabriel will come around after a while. He truly values Ella as a good friend, and cherishes her, but if Ella leaves, he’ll be upset for a bit but then should accept it."
"Upset for a bit then accept it?" Cooper Coldson smiled bitterly, from the perspective of outsiders, wasn’t he the same after losing Yolanda Greenwood and Ella?
He didn’t want his son to experience this, so he tentatively asked, "Is there really no way I could get Ella’s mom’s phone number?"
"Mr. Coldson, it’s not that I don’t want to help you, it’s just that..." Elsie Adams was somewhat helpless, "Ella’s parents have a very good relationship, and it seems Ella’s mom doesn’t want to upset her husband, so she’s not okay with casually adding other men on WeChat."
"Other men?" Cooper Coldson smiled wryly, was he being perceived as having ulterior motives?
"Then forget it, I’ll just take Gabriel home for now." He nodded at Elsie Adams, "Thank you for your trouble today, Teacher Adams."
Elsie Adams watched Cooper and his son leave, finally feeling relieved, secretly hoping Yolanda Greenwood and Ella wouldn’t reappear, and she could become a support for Cooper and Gabriel.
Cooper Coldson took Little Gabriel home, but Little Gabriel still wouldn’t eat, no matter how Cooper persuaded him.
He took out the gifts Little Ella had given him over the past few days, looking at them repeatedly, showing great reluctance.
Seeing the little bunny folded from an invitation, Cooper thought of an idea, whether for his son or to explain himself, he should contact Ella’s mom.
So, he tentatively discussed with Little Gabriel, "Gabriel, can dad talk to you about something? This little bunny is actually an invitation, if we unfold it, we’ll see Ella’s mom’s name, and then dad can find a way to contact her, okay?"
Little Gabriel hesitated, looking at his clumsy dad. Clumsy dad doesn’t even know mom’s name?
"Dad promises, once we unfold it, he will definitely restore the little bunny, okay?" Cooper Coldson immediately raised his hand to swear.
"Okay." Little Gabriel carefully opened the little bunny and handed the invitation to Cooper, "Clumsy dad, take a look."
"Clumsy dad?" Hearing his son call him this, Cooper couldn’t help but smile wryly. He picked up the invitation to see the invitee’s name listed as Heart Island Design.
"Heart Island Design?" He repeated it, feeling the name seemed somewhat familiar.
Very quickly, he remembered, Sophie Taylor had mentioned before that there was a company whose design style resembled Yolanda Greenwood’s, which was Heart Island Design. Unexpectedly, Ella’s mom turned out to be from Heart Island Design, as if there were some destined connection.
Cooper returned the invitation to Little Gabriel, "Gabriel, can you restore the little bunny yourself?"
Little Gabriel nodded, took the invitation back, and began to try to restore his sister’s little bunny.
Cooper patted the little guy’s head, then stood up to call Sophie Taylor. The call was quickly answered, and he immediately asked, "Director Taylor, I’m sorry to disturb you so late."
"President Coldson, you’re too polite. Is there something you need?" Sophie Taylor was puzzled, as Cooper rarely contacted her outside of work hours.
"It’s like this, I remember you mentioned Heart Island Design last time..."
Sophie Taylor immediately became alert, "President Coldson, is there a problem?"
"Who is the representative from Heart Island Design? Is it a lady?" Cooper Coldson found Sophie Taylor’s reaction a bit strange.
"..." Sophie hesitated, "Yes, it’s a lady. President Coldson, why do you ask this all of a sudden?"
Cooper frowned; was he being seen as a lecher again?
He turned back to look at Little Gabriel from afar, then said helplessly, "Director Taylor, actually I’m calling on behalf of Gabriel. This lady from Heart Island Design is Gabriel’s classmate’s mom, and Gabriel hasn’t eaten all day worrying about this classmate."
He sighed and said, "I want this lady’s phone number in hopes that the two kids can have a conversation and ease Gabriel’s mind."
"Have the two kids met?" Sophie Taylor suddenly blurted out.
"Huh?" Cooper Coldson found the question a bit odd.
"Oh, I mean..." Sophie quickly realized, Cooper didn’t know this classmate was his daughter Little Ella. She quickly explained with a laugh, "I mentioned to the person from Heart Island Design before that her child was about the same age as President Coldson’s child. At the time, we joked that there would be a chance for the two kids to play together. I didn’t expect they were actually classmates."
"Yes, not only classmates, Gabriel also regards her as a sister, his only friend." Cooper commented meaningfully, "So, would it be convenient for you to give me this phone number, Director Taylor?"
Sophie Taylor listened to Cooper’s words, feeling sorry for the two children. They were supposed to be biological siblings growing up together but had been separated for three years. Perhaps now they had met again, everything really seemed like an arrangement by fate.
To keep obstructing would seem somewhat heartless, "Okay, President Coldson, I’ll send you the number soon."
She hesitated for a moment, then added, "By the way, her last name is Lin, you can refer to her as Designer Greenwood."
"Okay, thank you, Director Taylor." Cooper Coldson hung up the phone, finally feeling relieved.
He returned, eager for credit, and saw Little Gabriel had already restored the little bunny, looking at him eagerly for praise.
They exchanged a glance, and Cooper saw sincere happiness in his son’s eyes, something he hadn’t seen for a very long time.
"Good boy, dad got Ella’s mom’s number," Cooper heard the phone’s notification sound and knew it was Sophie Taylor sending the number, "we can call them now, okay?"
"Okay." Little Gabriel was notably happy, resembling a normal child at that moment.
Suddenly, Cooper felt tears welling up. If he and Yolanda Greenwood hadn’t gone through those events, and Yolanda and Little Ella had never left, would Little Gabriel not have developed autism? Would they now be living happily together as a family?
In the end, he was the sinner!
